[MWP] Allan D for Sabah!

Day 703, 13:29 Published in Malaysia Serbia by The Mudkip Movement

It's that time again! For the second time is as many months, I will be running for Congress in Sabah. Last time, I had won due to a glitch, giving me 5 days of amazing and invaluable experience. This time, I would like to win for real, and be in Congress for the entire term!

Why should I vote for you?

I've always had a personal philosophy of looking towards the future, and in the case of eRepublik, the future is in the hands of our newer players. Now, it's no lie that I'm still a new player and that there are many things I've yet to experience or learn, and so a vote for me in Congress will provide me with a chance of having a tremendous learning experience in the way a country works and runs.

But you're new, how will you not screw up?

Well, to be honest, it's not that hard being a Congressman, especially in the stable condition Malaysia is in. All I have to do is click a vote button Yes or No on certain issues, which we always discuss on the country forum. Plus, I'm not that new. 😉

So why you?

Well, I've been active the past month in various activities around Malaysia, and even being removed from Congress, I was still allowed to partake in the discussions there. So essentially, I've been given the experience of a Congressman without the nice shiny medal to go with it. Oh, and no button clicking powers.

You claim you want experience, but you've already gotten it.

Experience is something that can only increase. You can never have too much experience. And to be completely honest, a month is hardly that much experience, considering nothing of interest happened other than allowing countries into the war games. Now Malaysia is ready for a time of change as Thailand emerges onto the map, so perhaps the experience this time around will help me better understand the game while forging new relations and learning new things.

So nothing but the experience? Is that all you want?

Well, not entirely, but it's a valid reason. I came into this game a two-clicker, and some people are content staying that way. I then grew wanting to be a soldier, but I realized I would never have the funds or the time of day to achieve that goal. Then a great opportunity arose that brought me here, on a political career. Now, as for reasons, why not vote for someone with a little bit of experience and someone that is willing to make a difference in the country? I may have only been in Congress officially for 5 days, but I saw what happened in those following days, and the number of people elected into Congress with no commitment; and how they all left the country afterward with a nice shiny medal and 5 gold in their pockets.

So what are your views for Malaysia?

It's hard to say right now, it takes a while to form an opinion on something this large. I do however think that our neutrality can be used to an advantage. I've always been someone who values foreign relations, especially in this gigantic game of Risk. I believe we should make a significant effort to strengthen foreign relations, especially with countries like Japan and South Korea. We should also use our neutrality to possibly serve as a mediator in international conflict, much like Switzerland in the real world.

I think our economy is fine the way it is, but I've yet to really grasp the economic side of the game, and that is one of my goals this term. As for military, we are neutral, and have no real need of a military that isn't for defensive purposes, and I believe our military is up to standard in that aspect. As for social relations go, I believe an effort should be made to keep babies interested in the game and get them involved. I also find that we should make an effort to get a significant portion of our active population involved on our country forum and the IRC.

As for our immigration policies, they have tightened up since last election as a result of the gold hunters, and I commend the Immigration Office for their good job improve the internal structure of our country. And that brings us to external policies, and a little something I would like to see implemented and I'll propose should I be elected. Basically, I would like to reach out to citizens of the New World looking to escape their war-torn countries and unstable economies and come be a part of Malaysia. Why? Economic growth, social growth, new opportunities, new faces... should I go on? Malaysia is a very nice country, and not enough people know about it. However, we would need to find a strategy to not make us a nice giant target for a take-over, but that's what the country forum is for: for us to debate and discuss possible strategies.

So on October 25th, vote for Allan Dobrowolski in Sabah! For Malaysia and a bright future!
