Senate Campaigns Are Tasty.

Day 698, 08:04 Published in Australia Philippines by Keegan Knoll

Hello Australia.

It's that time of the month once again. What time of the month, you ask? Time that I, Keegan Knoll, announce my candidacy for Senator of Tasmania.

Why should I receive your vote? Well, because I asked nicely, of course. That shows I have good manners, and who wouldn't want a man with proper etiquette representing them in the Senate? Oh, you want real reasons, don't you? Very well, then. Firstly, I must say that now, unlike during my last campaign, I have a bit of experience with the Australian system of government. In the last month since my first election victory, I have stayed relatively quiet, only voicing my opinion when I deemed necessary. But I observed the way that the senate works here, so that I may come to be of use in future senate discussions. In this coming term, I plan to be more actively present in senate discussions and debates. Furthermore, I have, over the last weeks, been given the position of Australian Ambassador to Israel, and have gained experience in foreign affairs in this way.

Now, for my views. On the important issues of Western Australia, and Q5 Hospitals. Western Australia is an important acquisition, and a big step in regaining our countries pride and international prowess. However, at this point in time, our country does not have either the military strength, nor the economy, that makes it feesible to return the region to our hands. It is better to wait until the time is right, than to risk falling back to square one, and losing all regions once again. As for Q5 Hospitals, having one in every region may be an eventuality, but it is by no means a necessity. There is absolutely no need for us to have a Q5 Hospital in every region. It is much cheaper and beneficial to move citizens to the regions already containing Q5 Hospitals at this time. And for those that want both the Return of WA, and the completion of a country-wide Hospital system, I have to argue that trying to accomplish one means delaying the other, as selling the Q5 hospitals we produce could be a major factor in gaining the gold necessary to buying back Western Australia.

One last point that I'd like to mention, is my change of parties. If you will read back, you may notice that last month, I ran under the Australian National Party. This month, however, I will be running under the banner of the Australian Independents. I was never very keen on party politics, and the ANP, although a great group of people, is not the party for me.

I believe this is all that I have to say on the subject of my campaign. Anyone who has questions, please, feel free to leave a comment below, and I'll be sure to answer as much as I can.

EDIT: At the request of a reader, I have bolded random words, just like everyone else who runs for a congress does. You're welcome.
