Race to Congress: Kanto Special

Day 639, 18:06 Published in Japan Japan by Metic
The Race Begins
As Congress elections are just around the corner, we've started to see candidates announce their intentions to run for congress! All in all, there's a grand total of 39 (with countless more I suspect) current candidates vying for congress spots in 16 regions. Not surprisingly, we see that over half of these candidates are concentrated in three regions, Kanto, Shikoku, and Kyushu.

Kanto Candidates
Today, we'll be taking a quick look at all the declared candidates for the Kanto Region. With 747 citizens currently residing there, it's the best place to look for votes. And with 8 wildcard slots, a majority of these candidates can still be expected to be elected even if they don't make the top two. Keep in mind that these are unconfirmed lists as the Party President of each one's respective party still has to approve their candidacy.

Akinobu - National Alliance Party
Seven-time Congressmen Akinobu is the highest profile candidate in the race so far and also the oldest. An active member in congress debates and elsewhere, he should be one of the favourites to win this race.

Ampboy - National Alliance Party
Almost three months old, Ampboy is a one-time candidate for the party presidency of the National Alliance Party. At level 16, he is one of the higher leveled candidates in the race, though has yet to make a post on the national forums.

Deathbishop - Godzilla Party
Born the 28th of July, Deathbishop is a steadfast manufacturing worker in the region of Gyeonggi, Japan and not a member of the forums.

DemeD - Orange Party
DemeD is the first of two high profile OP members to run in Kanto. Campaigning for Party President, DemeD tied for first with current Party President Walorm. Also, a silent forum goer.

Hashimoto - Imperial Sun Party
A manufacturer from a company based in Kinki, Hashimoto has yet to appear on the forums.

Jeremy Violetphoenix - National Alliance Party
The two month old Jeremy has worked in all three fields of work. Not much is known about him and he is also not registered on our forums.

Vandash - Godzilla Party
Born on the 13th of July, little is known about him though it is believed that he has yet to become a member of the Japanese forums.

Vanisht - Orange Party
The third candidate from Orange Party, Vanisht may have a hard time clinching that second party slot from DemeD.

Walorm - Orange Party
The Party President of the Orange Party is also a five-time congressmen of Kyushu and Kanto. An active forum member and IRC goer, Walorm is up there as one of the top contenders.

Wolfhunter - Godzilla Party
Born on the 9th of July, wolfhunter works in one of the few lumber companies of Delavae Lumber in Kanto. Also believed to not be a member of the national forums, wolfhunter is quoted in his shoutbox as saying "...this game sucks..." from 10 days ago.

Yumiko Tsuzuki - Imperial Sun Party
The first of two ISP candidates, Yumiko is also part of an exclusive club here who has actually earned a Hard Worker medal and shown her face on the forums.

Zanmato - Tequila Fitness Club
The current candidate for TFC, Zanmato is a two time congress member. His candidacy is currently in danger due to the fall of the TFC out of the top five.

Side Race - Battle for the Members
Tequila Fitness Party in danger

Being in the top five parties in terms of membership is a huge deal as these are the parties that can field candidates for congress and the presidency. This month's elections can potentially change the whole political landscape of eJapan. Tequila Fitness Club has long been a force to be reckoned with in the Congress Elections. For their relatively small size, they've consistently churned out a huge number of congress members. With the current state, this is going to completely change as the TFC is currently in sixth place behind the United Lolies of Japan (ULJ). This is a huge victory for the historical party, the one of the first ever president here in eJapan. So far, however, the ULJ has yet to put anyone up for congress in any region.

Our Opinon
All in all, the Report strongly believes that all Congressmen/women be involved in debates within eJapan. Not everyone has the time to do so, which is why we do have congressmen and women representing us. We don't believe that this is a matter of ideology or beliefs but rather, a willingness to participate. This means being a part of the forums and participating in congress discussions. To that, we encourage Kanto residents and all eJapanese citizens alike to take a close look at their congress candidates and evaluate who will actually take a stance and argue a position rather than sit and look pretty.

As official lists come out, we hope to give you some final thoughts on all the candidates.

We hope that you will be following us for continued congress elections coverage and a reminder to fight for the resistance, to fight for red in the Gyeongsangnam-do!
