Campaign Speech

Day 611, 00:29 Published in Australia Australia by Timeoin

Hello again e-Australia. It seems like only last week that i last wrote an article about my intention to run for senate, yet a month has passed.

Time to, yet again, proclaim that i will be running for senate.

Since my last post, I have been rather busy. I was ultimately successful in being elected into senate. Last month, i promised that since i was

completely new, i would do my best to be active and dedicated to objective analysis before voting on any bills in the senate. I have done just that.

If you would like further proof of this - you have to look no further than Melchizedek Smith's latest Article, in which all the senators get evaluated on how well they kept their promises.

I have discussed most of the bills which have been proposed (not all of them - because some of them i had little to contribute), but have viewed what others have had to say and carefully weighed them up before each vote. As well as this, i helped get the Government Department and Staffing Bill enacted, which allowed for those senators who wished to, to get some first-hand experience into the runnings of the cabinet, without actually being in cabinet. Finally, recently Scotywest and Ranger Bob (the join Ministers of Defence) asked me to be their deputy, and i graciously accepted this role.

So i havent been slacking off in the last month.

Now, to what i will do if elected this time around. First - there has been much talk about the need for senate reform, with some senators being accused of just being "in it for the 5 gold". I hereby state that the 5 gold i recieve if elected will go to ausEaid, so there is no personal profit from being a senator, merely a sense of civic duty to do what i can to help govern the country if i am able to do so. Secondly, i plan to continue learning what i can about senate (i feel i have only scratched the surface, really).

In closing, i believe that i have fulfilled my senatorial objectives in the last month, and, not only that, but if you give me the chance, i will fulfill them again. 🙂

Vote for me if you think that i did a good job, eAustralia.
