UK Fortis Speculation
Hassan Pesaran
Hello Citizens of the USA
I am the recently elected President of the United Kingdom, and I come to talk to you on the topic presented to you by ProggyPop, Fortis.
You may have noticed that the UK is involved in this, as is Ireland. While we did join discussions during Fortis's creation we never gave a solid statement that we will be joining Fortis. We have let our Congress vote twice on the issue of Fortis, and twice it was rejected.
I'll give a bit of background behind these votes. Fortis was the first Alliance we voted on, as it seemed the most promising and was simply the safest option for us; it was full of old friends that knew us well and we were geographically close. However, the stance of weighted voting completely put Congress off the idea; why should we have to act like second-rate citizens? Surely we should be as valued as much as another other Country? Just because we are not as large as the USA does not mean we cannot contribute in other ways.
However, a couple of weeks later, after a few talks, the USA decided to drop the principle of weighted voting. This eased the minds of all Countries involved, including Ireland and Canada. So, we took it to our Congress again, and while it did not get shot down so strongly, it did not pass.
As such, in accordance with the views of our Congress, we have chosen to take a path of Neutrality. I want to make it as clear as possible to the people of the USA that we will not be joining Fortis in the immediate future. That is the decision our Congress has taken, and it is one I will stick by until we decide to take a revote if we find that the circumstances have changed.
Thank you for reading and I wish you the best of luck with Fortis,
Hassan Pesaran,
Prime Minister of the UK

You aren't President of the United Kingdom. Note the word Kingdom. You're President of the Government of the United Kingdom or Prime Minister. The page doesn't even say President of the United Kingdom, just President.

However, thumbs up to your decision here.
We have a President. Deal.
Nice to see the opinion of congress respected.
Not really full neutrality when you have MPP's considering Fortis is a defensive alliance or basically an MPP.
Our MPP's are one months periods. Our Congress has chosen to remain neutral in the World of Alliances and base each friendship off it's merits and friendship of nations rather than lumping everyone into a bundle.
So it is neutrality in the sense that we won't take a side in the "ZOMG PEACE SUXORS!" or "EDEN IS SO FULL OF WIN!" etc propaganda.
What kind of alliance is the UK looking for, then? What would make Fortis more appealing?
Talk to the UK, not us.
>>Not really full neutrality when you have MPP's considering Fortis is a defensive alliance or basically an MPP.
There is no such thing as a defensive alliance.
"What kind of alliance is the UK looking for, then? What would make Fortis more appealing?"
Not having your leaders talking trash about the UK in private would be a good start.
@Johnathan: It's usually important between old friends to be open. I'm sure your President quite appreciates it.
Will UK join in PEACE alliance?
@Nero: The UK will join no alliance at this time.
>So it is neutrality in the sense that we won't take a side in the "ZOMG PEACE SUXORS!" or "EDEN IS SO FULL OF WIN!" etc propaganda.
lol, alliances are annoying. I appreciate that UK was brave enough to stay alliance-free. Anyone who read my platform knows that I was a fan of neutrality, but I'm cautious. I just hope that Spain and Canada agree with your stance.
-Emerick, US Secretary of State
Well that's too bad...

I'm seriously interested in your complaint, Michael. Care to contact me via PM? Thanks.

Not that it really matters tbh. We're just removing ourselves from all the alliance politic and making decisions based on what's best for the country.
This WILL mean we may make decisions you don't like. Just deal with it.
We are not your slaves USA, get over it.
haha FAILortis

A neutral UK is a stronger UK
hmm so lets put UK without EDEN and FORTIS mpps..
whats then? you will be crushed by France in single attack...so be neutral ,but be brave without mpps.
Says the Croatian :')
@Jazar
Theocrat 🙂 btw eCroatia is brave with mpps ,without it will be crushed...so ,with UK and every single country in this world same sh*t...but Croatia is EDEN ,protected good...and UK is neutral ,so stay neutral without MPPS
So it's like... free to invade you now?
...
Just kidding!
Unfortunately its unlikely Ireland will join if the UK dont.
no ty fortis
eUK has nothing to fear from in regards to PEACE. You can see that they recieved a influx of individuals who once promoted PEACE. I highly doubt that ties are completely severed. Friendships and past acquantances do go a long way.
eUK also has nothing to fear from in regards to FORTIS too, due to past MPP alliances and whatnot. Even with the badmouthing from eUS ( Which is understandable, considering that eUK is willing to slap them across the face due to their association with certain others and other mistakes - it all comes down to a "he said, she said" bickering ), it's nothing but just verbal bashing and I really do doubt that eUS or even FORTIS would want to severe that tie with the eUK.
So really, neutrality is fine for them. There's no loss for them in this aspect.
So the eUK will join PEACE afterall... interesting. I will remember the comments of: we are not slaves, and we will refuse to have allies trash talk about us when you join PEACE.
I thought the issue was equal voting rights, you got that and still talk like you are slaves in this. Sounds more like the petulant child that didn't get his/her way. But hey whatever.
I can't see countries signing MPPs with you if you don't offer anything in return. That means PEACE will PTO or invade till you capitulate and "join" lol. Good luck with that guys
I am not an American official, just someone calling it how I see it.
best of luck
UK has the right to be free!
we don't need uncle sam!
thank you, good bye!

Get a clue.
Thanks
Hurrah! Hurrah! Democracy ftw!
There was no speculation. At the time of writing, your officials made it seem as though the UK would, in fact, join Fortis. I chalk this up to the change in administration. Oh well, so it goes.
>There was no speculation. At the time of writing, your officials made it seem as though the UK would, in fact, join Fortis.
There were negotiations, not joint agreement. Within the logs of every single meeting the other countries involved were informed that it needed to be presented to Congress. There was no misrepresentation for what it was on the UK's part. Our public were informed of our intent to vote and were given answers, which the US and the rest of the Fortis countries knew.
The US, instead, chose to keep it's meetings and Alliance secret to it's citizens and present it all at once, which is your deal. No one is saying differently on our end, but we like to have the support of the majority before we could go into battle with people who "may or may not like us very much".
WahooBob: Less americans.
> WahooBob: Less americans.
Well, that's mature.
YEY! the uk done something right for once =-p
Fortis = west ATLANTIS
Eden = East ATLANTIS
Wonder which side will fall first eh? =-p
oh and also having mpp's and being in an alliance is a totally different thing =-p i suggest you guys go read about it
Alliance free is the way to be
Cheerio mates,
You made the right decision, IMO. Nice of you to inform eUSA too.
Good day.
>> johnpauljones says: I am not an American official, just someone calling it how I see it.
You are relatively new and have fallen for all lies being fed to you in the US media and on the forums. Can't really blame you for that.
Funny by the way how Americans claim that PEACE will do PTO in UK now that UK decides to remain neutral.
I just read up on what was said on the USA forums about UK and about having a 'friendly' PTO. Way to talk about your allies. It's no wonder UK is moving further and further away from USA.
Shadow saying that UK people buy into bs? If there is someone who made people in the UK buy into bs it is him. Shadow is full of it..
and there goes the UK... blowing away it's last ally
The idea's just getting started and it's starting to come undone. This will be interesting to see how America deals with this hit.
Good luck with that
Good luck, your country sucks anyway.
