HazzN For CP Pt5: Us and the Rest of the World

Day 591, 11:30 Published in Philippines Philippines by HazzN

PEACE
I am going to get straight to the point. The previous government saw fit to enter us into PEACE. After some discussion in both Cabinet and Congress, it was decided that we should ask for entry. I will be honouring that decision. This is not because I am a PEACE spy, or because I have any particular affection for PEACE, this is because I am a realist. We border Indonesia, which is a country that, in the past, behaved unpredictably at best. It seems they have a tendency to attack "for the lulz." Now I don't know what the new government will be like, but it makes me feel uneasy sitting next to a giant, whether he has been castrated or not.

PEACE is like a boys club. You don't attack your own. By joining up, we gain a certain immunity from risk of attack. They also have a good reputation of fighting off political take overs, which many of you will know has been this nations downfall in the past. PEACE could prove to be a very powerful allie, and so playing nice and making friends with them will no doubt only benefit our nation.

Now that we have the elephant out of the room.

Malaysia
Our other neighbours, and yet we have little dealings with them? Why is this? It strikes me as odd that we have little to do with a nation so close to us, that has a similar sized population and from my experience, seem very reasonable people. Perhaps it is time to extend a hand of friendship to them. Friendly war games to to encourage migrant workers, increase our countries damage count and generally liven things up a bit. Share the culture, get to know each other. Why ever not?

China
Who here has popped over to the Chinese forum? I believe we had an invitation. I know we have a Foreign Affairs team, and we have Ambassadors out and about already, but I can't say I have ever heard back from any of them. Let's mingle a bit. Perhaps have regular multicultural nights on the IRC?

It sounds all very fun and social doesn't it? But there is a point here. By making friends out of our neighbours, we shall NEVER be attacked. How can we? The game mechanics require two nations to share a border before one can attack. So let's create the best form of defence there can be: a buffer zone between us and our enemies.
