Yesterday, President BBB opened up applications for cabinet, ambassadorial and military officer positions to the public with his article, Department Applications.

If you haven’t read it yet, follow this link: http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/department-applications-823167/1/all

So, you want to apply but don't know which position to apply for? Don't know exactly what these officials do?

Here are some unofficial job descriptions of our cabinet officials and other government posts right now.

THE FORT EMBASSY, METRO MANILA (NOT A REAL EMBASSY XD)

1) Foreign Affairs Director
-Make friends with VIPs (e.g. presidents, vice presidents, fellow foreign affairs ministers, VIPs in PEACE GC and ATLANTIS). Generally, make everybody like us so that we don't get attacked, and possibly even give us money/loans, aid during PTOs, or even free hospitals should they choose to use our regions as a staging ground for war. You have to keep track of our relationships with other countries, and coordinate with and assign tasks to your ambassadors.
-Unofficially, you will also be the country's premier intelligence operative, so being able to skillfully coax information from other people would be nice.
-Very basically, you have to be friendly, diplomatic, discrete, and awesome.

THE NEW BSP OFFICIAL SEAL

2) Finance Director/Central Bank Governor
-One of your main tasks is keeping the value of the PHP stable by playing the monetary markets. Sometimes, you might have to buy out under-priced market offers to keep our currency from inflating. However, you don't want our currency to deflate too much. The key words are 'stable' and 'balance'.
-You will also be advising the president regarding the budget and pointing out what we can and cannot afford to buy.
-Desired Skills/Qualifications: Experience or knowledge in monetary market speculation will definitely come in handy. Budgeting and bookkeeping skills, too. Be awesome.

AT THE PHILIPPINE MILITARY ACADEMY

3) Defense Director/Supreme Commander of the Invincible and Untouchable Armed Forces of the Philippines/Commanding Officer of the Philippine Military Academy
-Organize and control the military by coordinating with your commanding officers (COs). Basically, you use spreadsheets to keep track of your soldiers, their numbers, their health, strength, status, etc.
-Coordinate training missions and actual war campaigns. You have to estimate costs of moving ticket, weapons, gifts and Wellness pack, and ask money from the government. Then, hand these stuff out to your troops and their COs.
-Train and mentor new palyers in the art of war.
-Desired Skills/Qualifications: Like HazzN said, a love of spreadsheets. Particularly Google Docs spreadsheets, so experience with Google Docs and how to make automated Google Docs forms would be nice. Also, knowledge and experience in logistics, strategy and tactics will be indispensable. Being awesome.

DEPARTMENT OF LABOR AND EMPOYMENT SEAL

4) Home Affairs Director
-Akin to our RL Secretary of Labor and Employment, you are in charge of our government-owned companies, which provide employment to the masses. Prioritize much-needed Skill 0 employment and other skill levels/sectors where there is a need for job offers.
-You must also try to operate the businesses at at least break even or very minimal loss while providing fair wages to our employees.
-Furthermore, our state-owned companies serve as a sort of market watch by setting the benchmark for prices of commodities to keep prices from getting too high.
-Desired Skills/Qualifications: A love of spreadsheets, again. Excel skills. Experience in running eRepublik companies or groups of them. An understanding of the law of supply and demand would really be helpful. Being awesome.

PHILIPPINE EMBASSY IN WASHINGTON, D.C.

5) Ambassador of the Philippines to (insert country name here)
-You work for the Department of Foreign Affairs and represent our country to your host country.
-Set up an "embassy" on their forum, and invite their envoys to do likewise on ours.
-Report to the Foreign Affairs director.
-You are also an informal intelligence operative.
-Just like the FA director, be friendly and diplomatic and discrete. And awesome.

DEPLOYMENT

6)Commanding Officer of the Philippine Army/Philippine Army Special Operations Command/Philippine Naval Fleet/Philippine Navy Marine Corps
-Take orders from and coordinate with the Supreme Commander.
-Hand out orders, money, gifts, weapons, and such to your troops.
-Keep track of your troops using spreadsheets and automated forms.
-Desired skills and qualifications, same as the Supreme Commander
