Join the new world

Born on day 504 of the new world I, Melchizedek Smith, am fairly young by eRepublik standards, however over past month and a half I have been silently observing the manner in which others play the game, coming to terms with various mechanics of the eWorld, and learning numerous invaluable skills which I have recently begun to put to use.

As a new player looking to eRepublik as the sort of game I could quite possibly become seriously involved in, I began to consider what would have kept me going without that immediate drive within myself. Looking over the numbers the reality of eAustralia’s population became alarmingly clear. Far too many of our citizens are aborted or stillborn, and quite often without the necessary parenting and direction our children are barely making it into their teens.

Over the past weeks I have been talking with various parties involved in improving the quality, quantity and capacity of our citizens. It appears that there are a few good willed individuals who are working hard to save our kids from starvation or a life on the streets, but unfortunately many are still slipping through the cracks.

For my own part in this saga I created ‘The Smith Family’, a privately funded organisation designed to ensure that new citizens gain the right leadership, direction and provisions they require for a successful eLife. Over the past week ‘The Smith Family’ has been contacting newborns on the day of their arrival, and ensuring that they are fed and educated to such a point that they can get on their feet.

After all that though, there is still far more that needs to be done. My hope is that by becoming a senator, I can promote policies that will encourage endeavours such as these, and influence the current views of the senate to take note of the little man’s role in the building up of eAustralia.
