Interview | Big Boy Bulley on Being President, May 5, the Secta and the Future

Day 529, 10:40 Published in Philippines Philippines by Swagger McSwag

Triple-B – the Philippine President Big Boy Bulley himself -- gets up close and personal with The Outsider, and discusses his early eLife, his experiences as Philippine president, his re-election campaign for the May 5 presidential polls, his views on the Spanish-led Secta del Guru del Varnish (SGV), and his plans and dreams for the Republic of the Philippines.

Hi! Good afternoon?

Hiya! And, it’s not a bad afternoon, yourself?

It’s evening here. I just guessed it’s afternoon there. (laughs) If you’re free, an interview could be in order.

Yeah. Sure. Talking or typing?

I don’t have a mic.

That’s a shame

So, how long have you been playing eRepublik?

Since 23rd January, 2008. So, 15 months.

Where did you come from originally?

In both real life and the beginning of my eLife, I resided in the United Kingdom.

Can you tell me more about your stay there?

I started out as a member of the elite UK paratroopers unit since its foundation in March 2008. I became its leader for 6 months (July 08 - November 0😎, taking them into many conflicts and becoming very knowledgeable and experienced whilst doing so.

I have run what was at its time the largest corporation in the eWorld, Aurum.

I also be served in the UK Congress several times, and was the Vice President of the UK. In addition, I was a member of the UK House of Lords.

So, why did you come here in the first place?

It all started off as a joke on MSN (Windows Live Messenger). I was talking to roadrunnerspeed and we were getting bored of life in the “over legislated” UK, and I decided we should try to start another country off from scratch, and the Philippines was the best of the three available.

When we first started to collect members and plan, the treasury [of the Philippines] was still intact and we were confident we could build hospitals, et cetera.

Then it got stolen by [former Philippine president] Bunaly, so we started also to collect funds.

And, so 20 of us came over and ran for Congress. We gained a majority, as was our aim, and we now continue to build the country the best way we possibly can.

Some of the original group have left and new people have come in.

How would you describe your first few days in the Philippines, trying to assimilate yourself in Philippine society, and gaining the acceptance of the locals?

It was some of the hardest days I’ve had in eRepublik, although we had monitored the Bunaly fiasco, we were not prepared for the levels of distrust and some of the abuse we received [from the public].

However, I think that 90% of the real-life Filipinos have come to appreciate what we are doing for the country and now accept our presence

In your opinion, what are the issues that the nation currently faces?

Well, of course we clearly have an immediate threat of [losing] the [Country President] position [to the Secta del Guru Varnish].

Other than that, I see no big problems. Just small things we shall have to negotiate.

What is the official stand of your government on the Secta del Guru Varnish.

We condemn the actions taken by the Secta, and those sentiments are shared by the Spanish government. And, you hear it here first: we will be proposing a trade embargo on Spain. They are importing lots of goods and damaging some local companies.

What’s your reaction on Secta president Jurgo Evergetes’s successful proposal to loot the national treasury and transfer all the gold to his organization, Guru Varnish?

Well, obviously, it’s exactly what I was expecting all along. And, it is clearly a planned move since he proposed it the exact minute that the previous donation proposal ended.

What do you think is your biggest contribution to the Philippines so far?

Other than the 300 GOLD I’ve [donated to the country]?

Other than the 300 GOLD you’ve donated to the country.

No. But it would have to be the creation of the Cabinet and the [Armed Forces of the Philippines], which have in turn lead to government companies with unlimited jobs and a functioning military training programme.

Before you became president, we had double-digit inflation in the country. Now, the Philippine Peso (PHP) is getting stronger by the day. There was even a time when we had a double-digit DEFLATION rate. How were you able to pull this off?

Well, it’s rather simple, really.

Skill 0 people create almost nothing for 2 days until they reach level 1. So, by reducing the minimum wage to 1 PHP, we were able to reduce the price of food.

This, combined with the creation of government companies working at non-profit, meant that the inflation began to decline. And, as “the Bunaly people” left [the country], the monetary market began to stabilize and the PHP-to-GOLD ratio is now at a stable level.

Our military training operations in Romania are kept under wraps. Can you give us a little info on the progress of our soldiers there?

Well, we are now training them in Indonesia. As of yet, we hold no alliance, hence we simply send them to an open battle that is likely to last the longest.

Thailand has declared war on Malaysia. What is the Philippine government's stand on this?

We are completely neutral. Neither side has asked for any form of assistance, so it will remain that way.

The issue about which major alliance the Philippines will join has been brewing around since this country was first created in the eWorld. Do you intend to join either of them in the near future?

Unfortunately, I cannot disclose such information as of yet.

Approximately how much money did you and your friends in the FPM donate to the central bank to jumpstart the Philippine government and economy?

The current total now stands at approximately 800 GOLD.

Wow! That’s just 200 GOLD short of the 1000 GOLD that Bunaly and Co. allegedly stole.

Yeah, but with that also, we would have been able to buy sooo much more.

You were initially a target of criticism by the Philippines for the Filipinos (PFF) party. Now, the PFF is in complete support of your candidacy. How would you describe your relationship with them?

Well, I still think they know very little about me, and if it wasn’t for the Varnish situation, I highly doubt that they would be doing the same thing.

If you are reelected, besides maintaining the organizations that you instituted, what will be your next project for the Philippines?

Good question.

We need to do our best to drive away the Varnish, and only once we have suitable control over Congress will we be able to make any big changes at which time we shall look to place a Q4 hospital within the Philippines.

Do we have a deal with the Q4 hospital?

Yes, but we are holding off for now. We can’t afford for the Varnish to mess it up.

So, basically we already have one secure?

Providing the sellers are happy to wait. But, we will be able to find others in the future without much issue.

How much?

180 GOLD.

How is that compared to the usual market price for Q4 hospitals?

Well, that is pretty much it. We will just buy cheapest we can find.

Last question.

Okay.

What qualities do you think are most important for a leading government official?

Common Sesne and high activity levels.

Thank you very much for your time, Mr. President.

No problem. I’m glad I could help. See ya’.
