Leonard Lyman for Congress.

Day 514, 21:47 Published in Australia Australia by Leonard Lyman

Greetings and salutations fellow eAustralians!

As across gazed through life itself on this overcast afternoon, I thought to myself: “Leonard, I bet you could make that sky a little brighter”.

So I, Leonard Lyman, nominate myself as an ADSP Victorian candidate for the eAustralian Congress.

Healthcare

I vehemently believe that Healthcare, for the good of our aspiring nation, must remain a public entity.

Recently there has been A LOT of heated debate on whether private healthcare should come in to effect and whether it is morally “right or wrong”.
It’s clear that a large amount of younger (but nevertheless wealthy) eAustralians shall be leaning towards paying for private healthcare due to the fact; it’s more efficient, quicker and simply provides citizens with a more secure lifestyle than the Government’s “Centrelink” currently can.

This is why I believe the eAustralian government must attempt to better Centrelink in order to compete with these new methods, I believe we can slowly but surely wipe out private health care and raise the level of true equality for every eAustralian.

Military

I always have, do, and will continue to support a powerful defence force that would be utilized after all forms of diplomacy have been completely exhausted.

I believe we can raise the force of our military by introducing more “obvious” incentives to join one of our military factions or even attempting to lure foreign soldiers to eAustralia to help build our glorious nation.

Economy

At this point in time, I personally support a mostly free economy with the government intervening whenever deemed necessary in order to keep the market at a consistent pace.

Flaming

I believe the answer to the current irrational "flaming wars" is simple; we stop being so arrogant, ignorant and attempt to improve our respective levels of tolerance. Don't you think our attention would be more better directed towards the issues rather than wasting it on constantly attacking each other?

I know I do.

I believe a certain degree of etiquette and basic respect, within reason, should be upheld at all times.

Pointless and tenacious personal attacks wont help anybody progress in the slightest.

Indonesia

Indonesia has been so incredibly gracious in recent times that I suggest for now; we try and put the past behind us.

So far, diplomacy has worked quickly and incredibly efficiently for eAustralia having claimed back three entire regions, almost half of the entire country, in the space of a mere six months.

With an active government and good relations between eIndonesia and eAustralia, we’re definitely on the right track, and I’d like to help continue our promising endeavour for independence.

Community

Since first registering for eRepublik the thing that has always impressed me the very most was the patronage and goodwill shown by almost every player I’ve ever come in contact with. This is a trait so very rare in multiplayer games and even rare in RL that I believe we must build on it. I believe we must attempt to somehow market the game to the RL Australian public to raise the population in order to become an even more competitive new world force and in my opinion, we must place emphasis on this theme as a definitive selling point.

It’s so very uncommon to find an online community built on friendship and acceptance, tolerance and the embrace of others and their ideals (and not just in everyday eLife, it extends to all realms of the game, eg. Politics, just look at the cabinet) that makes this eNation something very, very special.

Leonard Lyman – Congressional candidate for eVictoria.
