Templates are essential to creating a uniform look and feel to the wiki. The templates in use provide a snapshot of information about the page. They also remind writers and editors of important information to add. The templates provide a common design theme to the wiki so that users automatically know what type of page they are looking at before reading one word.

The Official eRepublik Wiki has templates for most of your page needs. The most important ones are:
*Citizen Page
*Party
*Company
*Organization
*Newspaper
*Region
*Country
*Military Unit

Tips:
1.ALWAYS start a page with a template (if one exists, so check!) This will provide a structure for information for you to provide on the page and will make sure that your page gets categorized correctly.

2. ALWAYS get the newest template. Templates are sometimes updated to add features or repair bugs. Also, don't you want the greatest in wiki template technology?

3. ALWAYS type between the "=" and the "|" when filling out the template. Template lines look like this: name= | . I would complete this line by typing: name=Q J Lincoln | .

4. Don't delete extra lines on the templates. Sometimes the templates provide fields that you don't need or don't know what information to type. It is in your best interest to leave the fields there, you might need them one day.

5.Do not try to edit the template as you are using it. Behind the template that you see is a complex code. Trying to change the field names simply won't work. For example, if I changed the field "name= |" to read "Title= |" nothing would appear on the screen, because the coding of the template only knows how to handle the field called "name".

6. Templates do not make a page. Wiki pages need more than just a template' they need text. Do not stop writing after you have entered information into the template. Your page will be considered a stub (unfinished page).

7. If you would like to see fields changed on the templates, make suggestions on the specific template's talk page. Most templates are protected by the admins as a general precaution but the community is always open to updates and making the wiki and templates more useful.

Also, the current templates are in a state of revision. Editors are working to roll out new templates to the entire wiki in the next few months that will share some of the colors and design elements of the game.
