Time to Choose a New PP - Alte's Last Bid
Alte Altus
The clock's counting down and the election for Party President is less than twenty-four hours away.
The choice before the Party is between one very experienced eRep player and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Tantis; Our relatively young but promising Mr. Awesome (himself the Minister for Heritage and the Arts); and myself, Alte Altus.
I am not a Minister in the current administration, but I am a well established Senator and I have been a part of this Party from its inception. See my last article for more details on my credentials.
I, unlike either of my competing candidates for Party President, do not suffer from any conflict of interests in being a part of Prime Minister Apollyon's cabinet. I am entirely free to criticise this administration for its failings, as I feel a Party President (and de facto Opposition leader) should be, and I alone do not call DA 'boss'. I think it is a very good thing that we have ministers in the government - and as always I applaud the maturity of the ADSP leadership to make appointments on the basis of merit rather than politics. That said, I think it is important that the leader of the ANP, the Party that offers the most readily available and viable alternative to an ADSP run government, should be independent of the present administration. I am.
We owe our loyalty to the County first, then the Party. But this County is not the ADSP, and it is not the current PM or his administration. As a Senator I provide a check to this government, to ensure it doesn't make decisions which will injure its citizens or autonomy, and I see the role of PP as an extension of this role.
Our Party could do with an increase in activity. To achieve this, I intend to expand the council, to divvy up various roles and responsibilities of running this Party and hand them to members who I believe are waiting for a reason to contribute more, and will do a good job in the roles I assign. We have the talent, I've no doubt about it, we just need to use it.
I support the notion that the days of running every able and willing member in the Party in the congress elections are over. We need primaries, we need to run candidates who are prepared to serve their full term, who are active (or prepared to be active) on the forums, whom we can then support fully during the elections and whom I as PP can personally introduce to the nation before the election. This way we may ensure maximum representation, and fulfil our obligations to our electorates.
I have faith in the abilities of both Tantis and Mr. Awesome to run this Party, so I can't truthfully claim that if you don't vote for me the Party's in trouble, because I don't think that's the case. I can promise though, that regardless of who you vote in as PP, I'll be back on the Party forums putting forward ideas and making things happen as I always have done. Such is my dedication to this Party.
Alte Altus,
Senator for Victoria
Candidate for ANP Party President

I support Alte for Party President!
Good luck mate,
Its a hard choice with all the promising candidates this election and I will be happy with the new leader regardless of the results.
That said I will be voting for you this time around, this article helped me make the decision that I was already leaning towards,
Good luck for tomorrow
Alte, you make it seem like I pledged allegiance to the ADSP. DA asked me to join his cabinet and edit the wiki for Australia.
Well I have to disagree with you on one thing, Alte and that the part where you say that:
"I, unlike either of my competing candidates for Party President, do not suffer from any conflict of interests in being a part of Prime Minister Apollyon's cabinet. I am entirely free to criticise this administration for its failings"
Calibur and many others can tell you that I can criticize a lot, I have done so during Cottus term and I was part of the ADSP. Same thing in Canada. If I am part of the Governing Administration I am not afraid to say that you are wrong, I even threatened to leave more than once if they continued on with all their secrets. I am just like you when you say:
"We owe our loyalty to the County first, then the Party. But this County is not the ADSP, and it is not the current PM or his administration."
You are right. I take my job as a Party Member, Party President, Senator, Cabinet Minister or Prime Minister as a job. Ive been hired by the people for the people, If they hire me is because they know I can do the job, if they are not content then I am not doing my job. The Australian people are my Employers I am nothing but an employee. DA may be Prime Minister but he is not my Employer the people of Australia are. My decision as Foreign Affairs Minister would be for the peoples well being not the governments.
Alte this isn't an argument just to put it out there, I wish you luck and once again, may the best Candidate win.
I wish everyone the best of luck.
Tantis
That's a good response Tantis. I'll even leave it there and give you the last word.
No doubt the future of the ANP is looking bright. Good luck gents, see you on the other side.
