Things Still Quiet In Africa

Day 228, 13:25 Published in USA USA by Desertfalcon

Pretoria, South Africa- After the three bloodiest days in Erepublik history the war in South Africa had taken a pause. We thought it would be a day or maybe two before it would be restored but it has turned out to be three weeks since the last battle and counting. The admins have said that they are working on bugs that they have encountered and that would they would continue the war once they are all fixed however we have yet to see any announcement from them in regards to starting the war back up any time soon.

The most noticeable glitch was with the former Indonesian president Rafee who at first had a strength at 7.48 and then having it jump up to 34.48 and then even to 100.48. This has been corrected and the admins are looking for others who may have used this glitch. These efforts have taken longer then expected mostly due to the hacking of an admin's account. Being forced to clean up that mess took time away from getting the war back online. It does not appear that the hacking was related to the strength glitch.

This war has marked many firsts. First off never have we seen such a bloody battle and war in such a short time. On the first day their were over 800 fights and in the three days of war their have been 1,819 fights which is where the number stands right now. Never has a battle erupted so quickly and with the long break it is likely that both sides will be well rested and we should see another 500+ fight day coming soon. This war is still very close and it will most certainly reach the 3,000 fight mark and quite possibly 5,000 as South Africa appears to be dug in quite well.

One of the key factors in South Africa's successful defense is that South Africa had signed mutual protection pacts with two prominent South American countries in Venezuela and Argentina. They are often ignored due to their location but Argentina has a q4 hospital and they are providing a significant amount of wins for the South Africans.

This delay is also the longest delay for a war ever in Erepublik history. The first one occurred in the North American War and lasted about half a week then after that they usually lasted about a day or two but never have we seen one span three weeks. Many people who immigrated to the U.S. have decided to move back to their home countries since it appears that this war will not return anytime soon but once it does start up again expect it to be like a powder keg exploding as both sides will have more people with 100% wellness.
