INTRO
I rarely write articles in English, however since this is (or at least is meant to be) a tutorial I thought it would be better to use the international language, rather than the national one.
This tutorial isn't about how to get a tone of medals or how to get a tone of a particular one. So if that's what you're looking for, sorry, you have to keep looking.
This tutorial is about how you can link medals between them. How fighting for one medal can get you closer to getting other medals too. Also, you will find a short description of each medal and maybe some tips on how to get it.
Having said that.. let's begin!
MEDAL PRESENTATION
Ok, first a quick glance. These are the medals up for grabs in Erepublik:
Freedom Fighter, Hard Worker, Congress Member, Country President, Media Mogul, Battle Hero, Campaign Hero, Resistance Hero, Super Soldier, Society Builder, Mercenary, Top Fighter, True Patriot.
In adition, thanks to the Dictatorship module, we have 3 new medals: Dictator Trainee, True Dictator, Liberator.
So, lots of medals, all very shiny.
As you can see from the example above, it's very hard to obtain all of them. This player is really close though, the only ones missing are the Top Fighter and Liberator medals.
Ok, now we need to know what each of them represent and how we can get them. I will present short description of each one, but I will also group them in the categories: War module, Economics module, Political module and Dictatorship module.
Freedom Fighter - FF
To get a FF medal, you have to defeat a certain amount of enemies in a certain amount of victorious resistance wars by fighting for the resistance force. The first time is easy - kill 25 enemies in a succesful RW by fighting for the resistance for 3 different countries - basically the equivalent to 3 DOs.
However after that, things get a bit more complicated. Full rules here.
Prize: 1000 curency (used to be 5 Gold).
Battle Hero - BH
To get a BH medal, you have to deal the greatest amount of damage for your side in one battle. Seems easy enough, however remember that strength is the main ingredient in battles. And there is always someone bigger. So you have to be smart about it.
Prize (depends on division): D1 - 2 Gold, D2 - 3 Gold D3 - 4 Gold and D4 - 5 Gold.
Campaign Hero - CH
To get a CH medal, you have to deal the greatest amount of damage for your side in the entire campaign. That's right, ENTIRE campaign. Not just a few rounds, although that could also be possible, given the right amount of damage dealt.
Prize: 5 Gold.
Resistance Hero - RH
To get a RH medal, you have to support a resistance war which successfully liberated a region. Basically you have to start it, using some curency and it has to be successful. Usually you have to know when new RW will be started and talk to the people in charge so that you can be the one who starts it. You can also start it on your own, but wars are rarely fought without proper planning.
🙂
Prize: 5 Gold.
Super Soldier - SS
To get a SS medal, you have to advance 250 strength points. One of the easiest medals to obtain, you just have to train until you reach 250 strength. Everytime you reach that milestone you get a new medal.
Prize: 5 Gold.
Mercenary
To get a Mercenary medal, you have to defeat 25 enemies for 50 different countries. This involves travelling costs (some spared by your countries MPPs), time and dedication. Basically it's the equivalent of a DO for 50 different countries.
Prize: 1000 curency (used to be 5 Gold).
Top Fighter - TF
To get a TF medal, you have to be ranked in the Top 100 highest daily influences for 30 different days. Just that, huh?
🙂Good thing they don't have to be in a row. Lots of work, lots of damage, lots of resources. This isn't for everyone.
Prize: 5 Gold.
True Patriot - TP
To get a TP medal, you have to deal a certain amount of damage while fighting for your citizenship country. You can check the exact amount on your profile. Basically it gets bigger and bigger. There is also a limit, after which, for every 100 million damage for your citizenship country you get a new TP medal.
Prize: 1000 curency (used to be 5 Gold).
And here we reach the end of the War Module Medals. As you can see, we already tapped into most of them, therefore it's obvious that the main source fun in this game is fighting..
😃
Hard Worker - HW
To get a HW medal, you have to work for 30 days. Level of difficulty: what difficulty?. Just keep working.
Prize: 5 Gold.
Media Mogul - MM
Ok, normally this medal doesn't have much to do with economics. However, ever since they introduced the endorsement feature, having a newspaper can be considered a way of making money. So although it's more of a social thing, it can be seen as an economics thing as well.
To get a MM medal, you have to gain 1000 subscribers of your newspaper. You can write quality articles, you can "buy" subscriptions, you have more ways than one to win this medal.. however the really good papers are the ones that make you want to subscribe.. rather than "buy your affection".
Prize: 5 Gold.
Society Builder - SB
Again, theoretically a social thing, however, the people who used your referral link to join Erepublik become donors for you once they hit level 10. Every time they win Gold, you get a percentage of that Gold. They can also be workers in your companies, so yeah.. economics!
🙂
To get a SB medal, you have to invite 10 people who will reach at least level 10.
Prize: 5 Gold.
And this is the end of the Economics Module Medals. Very few, especially if you don't agree with the presence of MM and SB medals here.
Congress Member - CM
To get a CM medal, you have to be elected as a Congressman (duuh). In order to be elected to Congress, you have to be a member of a top 5 Party (theoretically any party would be ok, however, numbers = votes) and put your name on the candidates list. Besides that, you need to be active, have ideas and basically be more than just a name on a piece of paper.
Prize: 5 Gold, with a catch - if Dictatorship is in effect, you still get the medal, but without the prize because, in theory, you're useless, the Dictator being the person with all the buttons.
Country President - CP
To get a CP medal, you have to be elected as a Country President. In order to do that, you have to become your party's candidate and of course, get the necessary votes. You can form a team to run with, show your plans to the public, negotiate votes with other parties.. oh yeah, it's a lot of fun (when you're not being back stabbed).
Prize: 5 Gold, with a catch - if Dictatorship is in effect, you still get the medal, but without the prize because, in theory, you're useless, the Dictator being the person with all the buttons.
And we have reached the end of the "classical" medals and the Political Module Medals. Or have we? Dictatorship module comes hand in hand with this one. So lets continue.
Dictator Trainee - DT
To get a DT medal, you have to last 10 consecutive days in office as a Dictator of a country. Before that, you have to be a Commander of a Military Unit (MU), stage a coup with your MU, along side other MU's and together, win the battle for Dictatorship.
Prize: 5 Gold
True Dictator - TD
To get a TD medal, you have to last 30 consecutive days in office. By this time, you will have gained 3 DT medals too. So there's a bit of Gold to be made from this.
Prize: 50 Gold
Liberator
To get a Liberator medal, you have to initiate a successful revolution against the current Dictatorship. Kind of like the RH medal.
Prize: 10 Gold
And here we reach the end of the Dictatorship Module Medals, as well as all the medals in play.
MEDAL EFFICIENCY
So as you can see, there are a lot of medals and you have to do a lot of stuff to catch them all. Kind of like Pokemon...
🙂
Now we will see the efficiency I was talking about earlier. You've probably noticed already that you don't have to take them one at a time, but you can also combine your efforts. Well, you're right!
🙂
Here are the posible combinations:

Goes poorly with: CM, CP, MM, SB, DT, TD.

Goes well = directly connected.
Could go well = depends on the circumstances.
Goes poorly = no relation.
Hope this helps you guys in your hunt for medals.

Thanks for the info! 🙂 o7
misleading title - there's actually nothing in here about "efficiency". If you want to touch the efficiency part, then you should have explained how much CC you consume to get one TP vs the 1000CC you get in return, that would have been related to the efficiency (and so on) 🙂.
As for the rest it seems a rather useless waste of energy on your part to write the article (ok, maybe a valuable English practice for you 😉 - there's not much in here that's not already obvious just by reading the short explanation of the medal itself...
Other than this, congratulations for the article.
Thanks for the feedback. I admit, most of it is obvious, however for a beginner it's not so obvious nowadays. Also, the part that I called "efficiency" really is about that because it helps you understand how you can maximize your efforts. You just have a different point of view about what medal efficiency is (with which I agree, I just wasn't ready to get into all the costs and stuff, but that will probably be a future article). 🙂
o7
I was expecting more strategy, based on the title, while the aticle however doesn't have to do with efficiency. It is a good run-down of the medals, but nothing we didn't know.
maybe you know it. but for beginners could be useful...
Like I told pasdenom, I agree with Raul, for beginners all this isn't so obvious and that's the target public I was aiming for. In a future article I'll talk about costs and strategy, however I thought that first they need to see how to combine them. 🙂
come on dude - why a beginner shouldn't know this? do we now expect beginners to be illiterate monkeys who can't figure out 1+1=2?! 🙂
That's the second time I agree with zmeul - o-O.... Does that mean I got Alzheimer already?
I didn't say that, what I mean is that it's easier to read about how medals intersect, rather than figuring it out yourself. For example, some people realise that Mercenary and FF can be connected sooner, others figure it out later. The article was written on the basis of "sooner, rather than later". That's it. 🙂
e bine ca scoti articol de genu' ... 🙂
merci! 🙂
O singură corecție: FF n-are nicio treabă cu Liberator (revoluția nu e RW).
corect, m-am pierdut in termeni.. 😁 merci pentru semnalare.
