Today I left the only real military home I have ever known and since I made this move I needed a new Avatar for my persona so let me take a moment to explain my new uniform. First it is the EZC uni turned upside down as is my rank, to show that my world has been turned upside down. The Bear and SFP badges are obvious. The 'meta government' -and hopefully not too many of my fellow Comrades- see me as a 'Tin Hatter', now my ideas I will admit are out there -like the radio idea; but somewhere between no idea and my left field is a good idea -we simply must find it. My use of the Anonymous Soldier is tri fold, we are all anonymous soldiers free to do as we wish in this game; more subtlety it makes me a Headless Horseman and even further back I was Air Cavalry in my haydays -lastly the Irish Flag for the women in my life.
Today, due to the 'meta government' finally pulling the trigger -they waited so long I thought they might have lost their nerve- we find ourselves in a Civil War, on one side the mechanically inclined 'meta government' cries wolf and says this is the safest move for the 'eUSA'; safest for who? The other side -my side- believes the new mechanics are simply the old mechanics of the Political Takeover (PTO) of a party applied on a national scale, the mechanic of the PTO being unacceptable to the other side mind you. Now both sides, the 'Unity Dictatorship' and those of us they have labeled 'Domestic Terrorists'; both believe we are defending freedom and democracy.
The 'Unity Dictatorship' has passed a 'Benevolent Dictator Law', which they claim will protect freedom and democracy in the 'metagame' for all Americans; raise your hand if you believe this statement. When is the last time you believed anything coming from the 'Unity Dictatorship' or Congress? The 'Unity' controlled Congress has passed many laws, most of whom effect only the 'meta government' and have NO effect on eRepublik; plus these Laws change when they become detrimental to the Dictatorship. So, raise your hand if you think the 'Benevolent Dictator Law' will remain in effect unchanged or unrepealed.
I recently left We The People, a party who I found to be more a supporter of the 'meta government' and a very poor representative of We The People. However I have found a political home in the Socialist Freedom Party, the driving reason behind that move was because the SFP believes that real world beliefs such a Freedom and Democracy should be defended.They believe that real world beliefs in Social Awareness and Honor can be applied to eRepublik. Yes, my leaving Easy Company was politically driven; my beliefs at this time no longer jive with their support of the 'Unity Dictatorship' against the People of America. The Officer Corps nor any Easy members ever brought up my political views, for that I want to thank each and every member of Easy Company; the only place where my beliefs were assailed was on 'Unity Dictatorship' controlled and owned 'Black Hole', the donation supported forum on which America's Congress is located.
The oldest sixth party in America the Socialist Freedom Party has always been an inclusive party and a staunch defender of Freedom and Democracy; since their creation in 2009 the Bear Cavalry have also always been defenders of Freedom and Democracy. The Bears consider ourselves 'Freedom Fighters'; not 'Domestic Terrorists' as the 'meta government' would have you believe; the SFP and BC both believe in America First and are willing to put our actions behind our words and defend our beliefs and America from the 'Unity Dictatorship'. If you feel the same then Mon' Amie you belong in the Socialist Freedom Party and you belong with the 'Freedom Fighters' of the Bear Cavalry, make your voice heard and become a 'Freedom Fighter' by joining the Revolution.
My belief is the that the 'Unity Dictatorship' has become traitors to Democracy, Freedom and the People. Through their control of Congress they have passed a law -not an amendment- superseding America's Constitution, they have decided to overthrow 'American Freedom' and replace it with 'American Totalitarianism'.
America, we must Stand Firm, People for Freedom and Democracy!

First for a New Dictator !! Wild Owl Dictator !!!
Thank you for explaining your position so clearly, Frank. As you know, we don't agree 100% on this issue, although I respect your viewpoint. It is very hard to see people I care about fighting so bitterly. I do believe there is a middle ground, but it is obscured by the weeds of polarization that have been sown by Plato and nurtured by those who would rather shout and throw things than sit down and reason with one another. I have chosen a different way to express my unhappiness. I cannot bring myself to fight against the democratically elected governing bodies of this country, but neither can I fight against the citizens who oppose this move when no clear consensus is in view. I am, therefore, choosing to put my damage today in resistance wars in smaller countries where it is clear that democracy is the aim.
As you know MaryamQ, I don't consider Congress a 'democratically elected' representation of America; I see it a the 'totalitarian selected' Congress of the 'Unity Dictatorship'.
I am not fighting against my fellow Americans, I am fighting against a 'meta government' who wishes to violently overthrow America; a 'meta government' that I feel cares only about their own enrichment.
This truly saddens me. I cannot fight for either side. This flat out sucks.

While I enjoyed reading the manifesto of Kaczynski, a RL domestic terrorist, I can't really care for the writings of domestic terrorists in erepublik.
You cant apply RL beliefs to this game. Unless your RL beliefs support your country invading other countries for resources and fun. This game is about winning, and installing a dictator helps with that.
And selectively applying RL beliefs to erep is pointless and subjective.
When Kemal posed pictures of our national treasures being destroyed and said we have to do this for, "National Security," you should have given him a reality check.
Our meta-game, overlords are always useing the terms. It's how we identify with them.
I've got no idea about what Kemal does, I stay outside US politics as far as it doesnt interfere with military strategy. I have no idea what the meta game overlords do or not do with the terms.

This is a game and what is winning today may not be winning tomorrow....
If we go to war, we'll get a CW against us every chance we get. That means expenses, moving treasury out of the orgs as prevention, and losing initiative in the war. Installing a dictator deters most PTO's, buys us time in case of a PTO, and deters enemies from opening a CW against us during battle, as we can afford to lose it and it being a significant expense on their part.
Believe I asked you what the 'winning conditions' of this game are and you give me an excuse for overthrowing America.
To win this game means to enjoy it. You must have fun, socialize, make friends. This is the only way you can win. Think about it...
The winning conditions of the game are to ........... survive. I have been around here in one form or another since BETA and in all that time the only way to win the game is to survive. I've watched empires rise and fall and alliances come and go. Through all that the game has no endgame, therefore as it never ends the only way to win is to merely survive. Installing a dictator help ensure our survival, therefore it is part of the winning strategy of surviving.
Our only difference is the way you would choose to survive in this game, you chose to leave under the heel of a Dictator; I chose to fight for my Independence. To me the Dictator Law was just another cry of 'Wolf at the Door'.
