[CP] First update - Avalon
Don Croata
Hello Ireland,
firstly I’d like to apologise for this article being two days later. I’ve been very busy in doing lots of things game-related and taking care of our future so there’s been only a little extra time to write an article.
I would like to thank you all for taking the participation in eIrish elections and especially those who showed their faith in me and voted me as the President of Ireland. As each time so far, I will do my best not to dissapoint you and to make this country a better place. We’re surely on a good way to become stronger than ever. Special thanks to RTK who showed courage and presented to everyone how the real opposition should act, he proposed few good ideas, he was serious contender and I’d like to congratulate him for fair elections. Some of his ideas shall also be considered and implied through this month.
As announced in candidacy the main three things we’re going to focus on this momth are:
1.Alliance
2.Baby boom
3.Keep our country safe
Ministry of Foreign Affairs..
We’ve already started the procedure to found us a new alliance. The main things we’re having in mind is staying loyal to all of our former allies, just because we’re the weaker side of this bipolar eWorld doesn’t mean that we should give up from those who fought with us when we needed them. The other important thing to secure is a stable region for us. We don’t want to be under constant threat of war and that’s the reason we’re taking this steps.
Yesterday we’ve had a meeting between three countries: Canada, Ireland and United Kingdom. We’ve came up with conclusion to write an Agreement which will make sure each one of us protects other members from a foreign PTO threat or direct war. I’m very happy to announce that all the Governments has agreed to sign The Avalon Agreement and now the same Agreement has been sent to our Congress for ratification. Avalon Agreement is the first step we’re taking in order to make our neigbhourhood friendly and safe. Once our Congress ratify the Agreement it will be published through our MoFA article so the public can also see it. Since it’s still just a mutual protection agreement I feel there’s no room for Referendum in this case, if we decide to go for the alliance, the Government will organise a Referendum so all the Irish citizens have they say considering this topic.
The Avalon Agreement will provide us safety and friendly neighbourhood, while it wil also lean us back to eCanada, our oldest friends and that’s the part of the Agreement I’m particulary happy about. The United Kingdom has also proved to be a good ally, they have changed the way they fight, they’ve became a great ally to everyone recently and I’m happy to have them as friends too.
All in all, our first goal is near to be reached and it’s only been few days of the term, I’m very happy about it.
Ministry of New Citizens / Ministry of Education
Our two hard-working Ministers Ian Arb and Anthony Colby are currently working on getting our tutorials for new players updated and they are writing new ones too. We want to make sure that when our new players join the Community have everything served on the table. All they will have to do is read the article, fill the form and they will be ready to go, full of knowledge. We’re going to make sure that as much as possible new members of eIreland stays here with us. In order to be successful in it we’re going to need every citizen of Ireland to do its part. More informations about this will be published soon, once our Ministers set everything up.
We’re going to prepare a message for the new players, bunch of articles, but what we’re going to need the most is the people. We need volounteers to keep sending the messages to any new player which register in here. So far we’ve almost raised 100€ needed for the baby boom and anyone who’d like to take part in providing our country a brighter future should read this article and follow the instructions from it. As a community, we need to make a common effort to make us stronger, it’s about the presige, it’s about the fun, it’s about the friendships. Just imagine having 100 brand new active Irish citizens in a country of our size. It would be amazing!
Ministry of Defence
Yesterday we’ve had a great National Strike and I’m happy that our fireforce is becoming stronger each month. It is a great pleasure to hit with your friends and I believe everyone should try hard to get there when you can. National Strikes are always announced at least day earlier in our official Department of Defence article. I encourage you to subscribe on our official DoD newspapers to stay in touch!
We’re also keeping the 24/7 supplying project on our national military channel #IrishArmy and everyone are encouraged to join there and take the tanks. You will also be directed where to fight. It’s highly important to distribute our damage on the places we’re needed. This way, we’re helping our allies and so far they’ve never let us down.
Ministry of Finances
Our country has made around 35 000 IEP profit in the last term, regardless of all the projects and expenditures we had we’ve still managed to close the month in a pretty damn good profit. Hopefully the same will repeat in this month too. We’re going to keep saving money and make sure we don’t spend more than we can make.
Another round of offers has been placed on the Monetary market and we can only hope now that Plato’s buybot do its cause and buys off our offers. You can read a full and detailed analyze about our finances in this article.
Ministry of Community
We’ve given the organisation details to our new Ministers of Community Tara and Aoife and they are going to start entertaining us really soon.
Irish Secret Service
ISS has launched public report, we’re watching over all the potential threats in eIreland, you can involve in securing the Republic as well simply by following the instructions from this article launched by TomislavRexCroatorum. Only together we can keep our country safe and it’s highly important that all of you report any suspicious activities you see.
We’re making a progress here and I believe all of you are feeling it. For example we’ve moved few places on the weekly damage list, now we make more damage than Canada for example and I can’t really express how proud I am because of that. We’re 37th Erepublik’s country by damage, we constantly have more than 20 people on “Online now” list and we have enough money to secure our needs and keep our budget safe. What we need more is activity of our citizens on IRC, let’s all try to work together. There are no enemies in eIreland and hopefully everyone will understand this, we might have different opinions about something, but all of us wants the best for this country, so why wouldn’t we just get along?
We can.
Thank you for reading and once again, let’s be United Ireland!

Are those your boobs?
I stole them (this is the internet after all). lol
I don't like this agreement at all! And I do not think it will be a success. I'm sad to see the UK chickening out of the new world scene
Why not mate?
First of all UK is isolating them selves completely from having any targets near their boarders. Secondly I just do not think an agreement between UK, Canada and Ireland has the potential to last. Erepublik is build up completely around the military and I find warfare to become very static and boring when everyone is NAPing each other and closing rivalries.
Those could be good points. On the other hand, what would be the point of having a war with either Canada or Ireland? UK can't permanently occupy none of us.
Same goes for Ireland, same goes for Canada. We're isolated by being the countries in the North. UK still has Scandinavia and France, Ireland has no one, Canada has no one.
Our main strenghts aren't in having potential direct battle, our strenght lies in being capable to start a cheap AS, imagine three of those cheap AS's on somewhere and boom - you get a potential! 🙂
Closing rivalries isn't what I prefer neither, but when everyone else does it then you don't have much choices. Not to mention that our rivalry has been closed lots of months ago...has nothing to do with the Agreement/Alliance
All three parties know this, and have not been engaged in war with each other for some time. But every time it happens it creates activity in the involved countries. It is part of the charm, this constant nudging between rivals, and I think should remain.
And honestly the argument for peer pressure is very weak and not something that should be used. What others do should not affect third party countries, especially now that the alliance system is about to die out and it’s more building up to be personal relationship between governments.
I much rather prefer direct battles over airstrike, maybe I am just old fashion, I just find it to be a shame that all former rivalries are getting closed and what we are left with is france to wage war against.
Few months back we were facing six enemies at ones, and overcome them all with help of friends. That is part of the fun with this game, and for me it is being killed by agreements like this.
So I am just voicing my opinion. But is an opinion I will actively fight for.
Aye, I understand you completly. For me the biggest pleasures of the game was taking up London in my first term as Irish MoD, I'm sad things like this won't happen again, or at least it shouldn't.
But these wars has been boring the hell out of all of us, it didn't even raise the activity recently, it was just the old battle. I believe that together, we might establish some new interesting battlefronts which we couldn't do while being focused only of defending ourselves from each others.
Anyway, I respect your opinion, six months ago I'd share the same as you, but the game moved from 'Not dead yet' to 'GTFO here' in those 6 months...
Salute o/
and US too..
