[Oblige] He's back for more

Day 2,540, 14:49 Published in USA USA by The Mike

Dear America,

Since the beginning of 2013, 14 individuals have held the office of the President of the United States (PotUS). None but three of them (incl the past and current PotUS') are still active in the Executive team; four are not there at all and seven are advisors. Being a President is serious business, tiresome and very demanding in terms of personal resources – not as much financial, as personal time, effort and nerves. It is a very rare occasion that a former President would run once again (hereby, I’m dismissing consecutive terms being separate ones) in the future without a serious a reason to. Interestingly, none of the Presidents in 2014 had been a President prior to his or hers election (although each of them did a double). This is the first time we are about to have a former President coming back into office since Vanek’s and Artela’s Presidencies in spring 2013.

And this is a testimony to the claim that being a President is a hard work. Very often various secretaries let you down in terms of activity. And you have to look for replacements. Another issue is that some secretaries, out of inexperience, aren’t as self-initiative driven as the others and always wait for the PotUS’ input on various manners before going forward. Communication with the nation, with Congress, with the Executive team, with the Military Units, with foreign governments – all PotUS stakeholders is a job demanding round the clock attention. Although the pace of the game is much slower nowadays, the job hasn’t changed much and surpasses any expectations a PotUS-elect might possibly have.
So, it’s no wonder that we haven’t seen a former President run for office once again for a long long time. And it’s not only being a President demanding, but also running for office too: campaigning for PotUS has never been such a casual formality as it is these days. The last time there was a proper campaigning for the Presidency was exactly 12 months ago when Josh Frost manipulated each party into running a candidate for the Presidency. With one exception only, the getting elected PotUS has been always winning in a landslide ever since NewAzazel won the war of the Five.

And if the former Presidents would prefer to step aside, once they have let the Presidency go, this exactly illustrates how demanding being PotUS might be. But now all of them are coming back at once. Oblige has managed to persuade not only one President to come back; there are 11 former Presidents united by Oblige to work for the eUSA as Secretaries. I for one find this extremely amazing and motivating. I’m really excited to get to know more of them in their true non-swag light and see how high they are going to set the bar.

So, on Wednesday, when (IF) you log into eRepublik, make sure to vote for Oblige. Because being a President is very demanding, and being fully in knowledge of this Oblige is standing ready for the job once again. Furthermore, in spite of all the negative experience from some of his former terms, there are ten other former Presidents supporting him. Have in mind the presentation articles he put together, the insane amount of endorsements he asked for and received and the personal message YOU received.
