[ReL] Party Update

Good day fellow Revolution et Libertas (ReL) party members and fellow eDutch,

A lot of things have been accomplished in the past few days since the Party President Election and I wanted to update everyone in a timely manner. So let’s get started…

Party President Election

First and foremost, I would like to give my thanks to everyone who voted on the 15th in the Party President Election and especially to those who elected me as party leader. I am more motivated than ever to help this party grow and I can’t wait to see what this next month has in store for us. Also, I would like to give my thanks to the other candidates as well. I was happy to see a solid group of candidates that truly are motivated to help this party prosper as much as I do.

The New Name

On the day before the Party President Election, I sent out a message to each and every party member with a list of party names that several members suggested. Each member was able to vote for their most preferred name. Unfortunately, at the end of the first 48 hours, I did not see one name that had a clear majority of votes. So I sent out another message with the three names that received the most votes and asked the party members to pick their most preferred of those three. And, as some may have noticed already in this article, the new name of our party is now Revolution et Libertas! I was extremely happy to see how many members took the time to vote for the new name. Of course I am hoping this means that there will be tons of participation from everyone over this next month! 😉

The New Logo and a New Newspaper Header

Over the past few days, I have been working with a very great friend of mine, Dr Hugh Jardon, because I have admired his many creative works for his newspaper as well as several parties he has led since the time we first met in the eUnited Kingdom. He had presented me with many fantastic samples to choose from and I am currently using one of the samples I liked the best as the logo for our party. Here is what it looks like:

He may be modifying this logo a little bit, perhaps adding “ReL” somewhere on the logo. If everyone in the party likes this logo as well, we surely will be keeping it. However, I still would like the party to have options to choose from so I will be sending out even more messages to get that done soon but, hopefully, this will be the new logo for our party!

I would like to publicly give a massive thank you to Dr Hugh for his work on the new logo and for also creating a new header for the party to use in our newspaper articles as you may have seen at the very top of this article. He has worked diligently and presented many unique and amazing ideas for us to choose from. I’ve really liked all I have seen and I appreciate his help tremendously.

The Upcoming Party Meeting

Along with those messages regarding the new logo, I will also be asking which day would be best to have a party meeting. I don’t want to overwhelm everyone with messages so that is my reasoning to combine these subjects all into one message. As well, I will be asking if our party members would prefer to discuss the party platform on IRC or if they would rather just use the in-game message system instead.
