When I started playing eRepublik back in 2009, I had very little interest in the political module. I hopped between a couple of parties, never getting very involved. I made a couple of Congressional bids but none were very likely to happen.

I spent the bulk of my time and effort in the Training Corps. At the time, it was the official government supported training MU. Well, MUs didn't exist yet. I worked my way up the ranks and spent many months as a senior officer there. Even when I was two clicking or dead in game, I was still advising and helping. When the JCS military chose to cut ties with the government, I had no opinion on what was happening. I wasn’t even registered on the eUSA forum. I just kept doing my job. Eventually I, like many others, got burnt out and went mostly dormant.



When I returned to the game about a year ago, I was disappointed in the state of the Training Corps. I tried to help where I could, but ultimately my disagreements with senior leadership about how things were being handled made it so leaving was my only option. Not long after, I joined the Air Force and returned to what I most enjoye😛 helping to keep a military unit running for its members. I again rose through the ranks, eventually being chosen to be the Commanding Officer of the Air Force. This led to my work with the Department of Defense, where I have been appointed Secretary of Defense four times.

During my time in the Air Force, I was recruited to We The People by Hale26. I was quietly poking around the Feds at the time, but was unable to make much progress there. We The People was still young, and I found it much easier to get involved, so I did. Party positions, Congress, and appointments to the President’s Cabinet soon followed. Before I realized what had happened, I found myself heavily involved in the politics of the eUS (something I never thought I would be back in those early days).



Despite my long work in the DoD, I'm no one trick pony. Over the last few months I've worked in the Media Department, represented our country in meetings with foreign leaders and at alliance meetings, and worked to coordinate National Security Council battle plans.

It's been an interesting journey coming to this point. I've done things I never expected, in areas of the game I hardly thought of during my early days. After a few fairly lulzy runs at the Presidency (one that came during the birth of my daughter, yes I campaigned from a maternity ward), I've decided that this is the time for me to make a serious run. I, dmjohnston, am running for President of the eUnited States.



People who have read my media before know I like to post a lot of pictures of Tom Hanksimals, and that’s not likely to change. But people who have seen me work know that when I’m on the job, it’s not all jokes and memes.

I have some great plans for July, some talented people I plan to have by my side for it, and I am asking for your support.
