Mhmmm--this post is coming from an "oldfag".

You were eBorn in April 2014...you missed alot of rough history. Once upon a time in before Spring came in the Northern hemisphere this year all those other parties (SSG, ULJ, ISP, SOS, etc) were EXTREMELY active--but DNP and the Serbian parties (CTG and TLS) have effectively quashed the opposition due to lack of ability to agree on various topics between themselves and with DNP/CTG/TLS on any amount of power sharing. DNP/CTG/TLS thus managed to take control with nothing but numbers since and are a stable and dominant force now.

Many of us got dismayed and quite frankly left the political sphere here (I was one of those people and in fact SSG's PP before I emigrated several months ago). There is alot of nihilism present in those factions today, yet you'll also notice though that there's still a passive desire to see an end to the current coalition from those factions every election, but it never succeeds (see Kazami Yuuka and Boukun Suzaku for example--they are quite active, albeit in only in "some other game I can't mention here lest I be censored by Plato" nowadays).

So you really have two options here:
1. Ally and work with DNP/CTG/TLS to see the change you in particular want to seW. If you have an idea that you believe will help Japan, share it with them and consider work within the executive.
2. Take em down and institute your own plans.

A new party would help more with option 2 than option 1...but that's just my two cents. Also, realize that unfortunately parties really do end up being "old boys clubs" as you're mentioning in your article most of the time anyway despite what many have tried as most people don't want to put the time into the game and so the people who are more involved just get more power and eventually become unbeatable until they are finally toppled or step down. It's a matter of human psychology--so maybe making a party won't solve your problems anyway. Regardless, good luck.

Ya I am referring to HEX, I didn't reply to your comment plus you're Canadian anyway (My comment spoke specifically about Japanese politics) and thus I was referring to his/her article. Also believe me--I tried VERY VERY hard to take out my personal feelings and speak in an unbiased fashion that long comment. I still have alot of leftover emotions regarding the past here in Japan as do many of the other "oldfags", whether they personally confirm or deny it as well. This is one of the reasons I won't tell HEX not to follow thru with his/her ideas, someone without history is less likely to get discouraged and perhaps more capable of starting something new.

Well I'm Canadian now, but for three very long years I was eJapanese. So I feel more than qualified to comment on Japanese politics, especially from the POV of an "oldfag", considering I was an oldfag that left the game before you even know eRep existed. Don't let this robe fool you, ahava. I find it funny you speak for said, oldfags, considering there are eJapanese that have been around far longer than you have - such as Geezus and Sophia - people I remember being around in my day, who would be far more qualified to speak for the oldfags than you are. Hell, I've been gone for years and I'm more qualified to speak to the oldfags than you are. I actually knew them.

That bit of chest beating aside, I like Hex's idea. The fact is, you guys are f**ked. That's not an exaggeration. You won't succeed, not in any meaningful way, unless you unite under one banner and get help from outside forces. Otherwise, I would expect a very arduous occupation that will last indefinitely. Look at eSK, They didn't have congress for 2 years. You think eJapan's got two more years in it? I don't.

You've lost just about all your leaders, all your community, all your infrastructure. Even the eJapanese forums, once the pillar of the community, have shut down. You lack an Emperor, a solid political leader, and the best minds of your country have all retreated into 2-clicks or out of the game. So take whatever fragments are left of the community and make something of it. You need this. Sorry you feel like crying about old wounds, but now's the time to put those aside. Unite, or die. Your choice.

First of all don't let my eBirthdate deceive you, I was around in 2010/2011 as well with a now deleted account, but not in Japan.
I guess we're both foreign 'oldfags' of different eras sharing our two cents, only I'm Israeli and you're Canadian now...
I think it's less about unite or die and more about building a large enough community of people who care or alternatively getting a sugar momma who does. JP simply lacks the firepower or funds now for any sustained amount of freedom. Whether they are all one party is irrelevant--look at Israel right now. No one even competes against the CP candidate in ISR every month but we're still having problems with Cyprus (who btw, is about as powerful as RoC) ever since LETO/Asteria started turning their back on us due to Greeks liking Cypriots due to nationalism...so yeah.
Btw, the Mitsunami war, the most recent charge for freedom in recent Japanese history against the Portuguese had some pretty generous backers if you weren't aware...so yeah.

Well the MUs run Israel, plain and simple. Don't get me wrong, this isn't a bad thing, I love MEK - they've saved Canada and its allies in many ways. But you have to face facts: Israel's not a democracy, but a military autocracy.

Again, this is not a bad thing.

From what I've seen of what's left of the eJapanese community, and trust me, it's not a wide panorama to scout, that's not going to happen. eJapan's best bet is to jump into bed with a foreign power and attempt to hold down a couple territories, or all of Japan depending on the power's generosity, for congress. From there you can hope to rebuild your community from the natural flow of people, as well as from the stray eJapanese citizen who left the country because of the wipe.

Israel indeed operates as a military junta--but thing is the government leadership is so ridiculously technocratic that it is effectively what H E X is imagining. If you have knowledge, experience, or skill it is relatively easy to get a job in it and have an effect on the country's policy. I was personally given a chance more than once but I just haven't had the time.
And indeed, as I said Japan needs to find itself a Sugar Momma, or a Sugar Daddy I guess...that might be difficult now especially after the CoT era.

As I see this options won't help us. This is why we need a some kind of movement, to convince the people that the country's future is much more important than the current parties in fact just circle of friends. I think there are a lot of "simple" citizen who would agree with this, but it's hard to reach them.

H E X, your idealism is nice but unfortunately at the end of the day politics is also about power and control...you need to take power from those who currently have it or you need to work with them. This movement of yours can either work against the establishment or with it, there really isn't a middle ground in this game.

While you say a lot of words with truth in them about the "recent times", and I acknowledge with silence, your argument is invalid because I can say - before you and your young faction was active (or even born) things were different, and citizens older than me (albeit not many) can tell the same to me. Keep your eyes where your heart is ahava from NY, as it's within the distance your arms can change things.

No offense, but to be blunt, I'm not going to gtfo of this convo just because you want me to. I still keep ties to this community, both here and on mrmariokartguy's "greener pastures".
Anyway, I can't do much more than share my two cents now (both here and elsewhere) as I really need to job hunt irl right now. Thus, that's what I'm doing. I'm sharing my two cents in more places than here when it comes to Japan tho, just so ya know. Also, my commentary has stirred up the hive...that's enough for me, the now eIsraeli ahava to see in her original eCountry, which she still cares about.

I am not sure that we need a new party. Recent parties were formed around a friend of circle (as i see). It should be more important to concentrate our hits in less Military Unit. On the other hand we really need more active players, i advice you to "collect" them, educate them how to work or lead ministries (MoFa, MoD etc.)or the country, after it would be a good idea build a new party with this people.

H E X our main problem is still unity. I ve tried to activate PM for MU but many said that they are in 2 click.

so for me its not if we have a 3-4 candidates . We need only 1 and he needs to create goverment with active players from all PP . I know that Sophia chan and Boukun san +Geezus +Kazami +Cheda, Bozimano and Archangel Lord +Sto kila Bazuki can be core of goverment. others can be "students" and we can train them for the future. But without goverment of national salvation we can do any job .

First of all we need a charismatic leader, who is accepted by everyone, and able to unite this nation. If someone could start a campaign, could convince the citizens to unite and fight for common goals.

I'm not aware of the back history, but any step forward is better than nothing isn't it? From an internal perspective it seems like when things are down, you have to take whatever help you can to get back up irrespective of past differences. It seems a bit meaningless hoping for someone to swoop in and save us when the resistance itself cannot even agree on which foot to step forward with. If people cannot work together in bad times, are we still a people?

I appreciate the voice of confidence. Unfortunately, it will be at least two more months before I am able to really become active again in this game. I am hopeful that a unity government could be put together as you describe, but part of the problem is that many of us do not have the time to become active again. My own time during the summer is short.

As if in a country with 10 active players, 10 political parties aren't enough!

A bleakness has set upon eJapan... and the darkness has been long.
eJapan relies upon immigration from the New World... not Real World.
Thus a baby boom... which is desperately needed has not occurred in the
5 years I've been here. That is what makes liberating us so very difficult.
RL Japanese are simply not interested in this game.
Question is, how do you draw people to a wiped out country?

This is why we need help from other strong countries, and it's a good question. Maybe we should get more people based on RL relations, or from countries which are interested in the weakening of Taiwan.

So Im a bit late to this article but here's my 2 bits worth. eRep is a game in a death spiral overall, eJapan is at the head of its own little death spiral as well. Imo write it off and find greener pastures. Some of us found one, and we have a strong, healthy, active nation and community. Find your own and rock it
