These are the times that try men’s souls.
Our party’s candidate was defeated on Day 2177 by the opposing candidate, [insert name]. While we mourn our loss, we are not ashamed. Indeed, we celebrate the fact that, though outnumbered 5 to 2, we achieved such a high percentage of the votes: 42%! With results such as these, the only sensible option is to try, try, and try again with Dan/naD Wilshire as our candidate.
Patience is bitter, but its fruit is sweet.
Even as you read this, the situation with Slovenia continues to be brought to a standstill with very little progress. We celebrate the efforts that Switzerland was forced to undertake in order to establish ten members of Congress, however; it was desperate. Switzerland needs a president who will bring a more permanent change to the situation and liberate Switzerland, and we believe Dan/naD Wilshire is that candidate.
What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly: it is dearness only that gives everything its value.
No one will deny that it will take a great deal of effort to liberate Switzerland. However, in all things, the amount of effort it takes to solve a problem is proportional to the quality of the result. Victory tastes sweeter when one works for it, but not if it is given to them. To this end, no one will try harder than us, the Swiss Freedom Party, to free Switzerland from its oppressors. However, this cannot happen unless all of Switzerland unites for the common goal, as a miracle will not happen unless everyone believes in it.
Reader, suppose you were an idiot. Now suppose you were a member of the Swiss Cabinet. But I repeat myself.
The current Swiss Cabinet has only been in office for four days as of the time of writing; thusly, it is unfair to say they haven’t done anything. Yet we of the Swiss Freedom Party believe that our candidate’s choices would have been spectacular in every way, shape, and form. Our candidate has been and will be diplomatic first, yet quick of mind; always helping, and always there; always respectful of others’ opinions, yet able to distinguish a good idea from a bad one.
Let the real Swiss take charge in this nation and steer it towards a better future.

No, actually he opposed slavery. I have read up about him quite a bit actually, since I happen to be (quite distantly) related to him, and he was a man of principle and as such he decided to side with what he considered to be 'his home', Virginia, in the conflict. Largely due to the strong ties he had with the state.
That is one of the reasons, along with his 'honourable way' of executing warfare for example, that he was treated so well by the Unionists after the war. He was, for example, head master of a university after the war if I remember correctly. 🙂
Furthermore, I'm not quite sure what your point would be even if you perhaps happen to be right. That you strongly disagree with a man on one issue does not mean that everything he said or did was rubbish, especially when it comes to men of such great stature such as Lee, or even people such as Putin, Obama or Cameron. I happen to disagree quite strongly with all of those three people (although perhaps not on such an important and horrendous issue as slavery) but I can still respect all three of them for their experience, ability to do what they are doing, and their skill at doing it. They have all contributed to society in some way, even though they may have done many stupid or nearly repulsing things, even if there may be or may have been people better than them. 🙂

Also I'm getting really tired that people are trying to get elected by speaking bad about the current or the administration before. This article shouldn't even mention it, because the administration has been active for just few days. It is stupid to even imply at this moment that they're doing a bad job. Well wouldn't it be in the interest of the whole country if everyone who had any good ideas actually would step forward and introduce them not just wait until they happen to finally get the CP position? It is stupid to start strategically holding ideas until you can be the one to get the full glory for them. It is such a selfish and stupid act especially for people who claim to stand for the real Swiss and for the country's interests. Not to even mention that certain ideas can be implemented only in a limited period of time. Meaning situations change and new ideas are constantly needed. Meaning something that was a relevant option/idea 4 months ago, isn't remotely relevant anymore. So really if anybody claims to stand for the country and claims to not be selfish then, I'd advise helping the administration at hand or lending them ideas. Even if you don't like the people in charge personally, still for the sake of the country you should try to push your good ideas, not just hold onto them till you once get the chance to lead.
I never said that there was the idea that there would be a push in ideas AFTER we got the CP position. I merely said that this is not the time yet to push such ideas forward. The time will probably be in a few days.

No Dan, the argument is that they assume that they know something and have all of the answers after being here for two weeks, which sounds awfully suspicious... Where were they a week ago, when people were being asked about cabinet positions, and suggestions for the office? Why did they not step up then? Oh yeah, that's right, it is because they are too new to do anything, right...

In defense of me and Lan. Dan honestly what would you think if you see a fairly new player with not much XP looking very well informed about things that happened before his official date of arrival into this game? As Lan put it if it walks and looks like a duck and quacks like one, then there's a mighty strong possibility that it actually is a duck. Anyway if we were wrong I apologize on that note. I don't know you from the older Swiss days, but I don't have any negative thoughts/feelings about you, so in my book you seem cool.
ONLY REASON why this comment section has gone to a mess is because I politely asked to further explain with more specificity and then I was met with basically rude insults. I didn't have any ill feelings entering, but I won't tolerate being treated like crap. If you guys say something is wrong in the country then it is only justified that you bring out what it exactly is and what's causing it. Otherwise it is just mindless accusations.
