Poland - UK Statement of Friendship

Dear friends,

Ever since the UK joined ONE in mid 2011 (over two years ago now!) it has been obvious to both Poland and the UK that our interests lie side by side. As neighbours we both offer each other support without infringing on each other’s interests. The UK has always been selfless in offering help to Poland and Poland has several times rescued UK from multiple-nation attacks by invading and purging the UK mainland of the French, Germans, Canadians and Irish.

At first our relationship was quite cold. We had mutual goals and of course shared the same alliance, but despite several forced attempts to bring us closer, there were still bitter memories of the time when we were enemies. As time went on though we grew closer through mutual actions, and came to support each other frequently within ONE and then later in TWO.

In time I moved to Poland myself, and made many friends there who I still consider friends today. I sat on channels, swapped stories, complained about weak allies and strong enemies, and found we had a lot in common. Many Polish players lived in the UK (especially London) and so we could share complaints about the RL UK (especially London). In time, many Poles came to the UK, including MagicHereos (who was CP here) and SirMarvin, who I guess most of you know.

In time, without any fanfare, it became obvious that the UK and Poland were close allies, perhaps two of the closest in the game. This relationship became so important in the UK that it eclipsed all of our other foreign relations. When ONE ended, the question was, what will Poland do?

When TWO formed and we kept many of the same allies, many in the UK breathed a sigh of relief, but through a year of TWO we have fought many times with our Polish brothers and it has brought us closer than ever. With CoT now lying in ruins it strikes me that the whole world is made up of vital relationships which hold nations and alliances together. These relationships shift and evolve over time, but the UK’s relationship with Poland looks set to stay.

This statement is more a recognition of this friendship, and a promise to the future. Whatever the game might bring, the UK and Poland will stand side by side to face it.

Drodzy przyjaciele,

Od kiedy Wielka Brytania dołączyła do ONE w 2011 roku(ponad dwa lata temu!), stało się oczywistym, że interesy Polski i Wielkiej Brytanii będą szły w parze. Jako przyjaciele pomagaliśmy sobie nawzajem bez ingerencji w swoje interesy. Wielka Brytania nigdy nie była obojętna w oferowaniu pomocy Polsce, a Polska wiele razy uratowała Kraj Albionu przed najeźdźcami - Francją, Niemcami i Kanadą i Irlandią.

Nasza pierwsza znajomość okazała się nieco oziębła. Mieliśmy różne cele i, oczywiście, znajdowaliśmy się w tym samym sojuszu ale pomimo tego nasi żołnierze nadal pamiętali czasy kiedy byliśmy wrogami. Z biegiem czasu zbliżyliśmy się jednak do siebie, głównie przez wspólne działanie i - ta współpraca - zaowocowała coraz częstszą współpracą z ONE, a później z TWO.

W czasie gdy przeprowadziłem się do Polski i poznałem sporo przyjaciół, z którymi do dzisiaj utrzymuję kontakt, przesiadywałem na kanałach(IRC), dzieliłem się historiami, narzekałem na słabych sojuszników i silnych wrogów - i wtedy zauważyłem, że mamy wiele wspólnego. Sporo polskich przyjaciół mieszkało w Anglii(w szczególności w Londynie) i, dzięki temu, mogliśmy rozmawiać na temat "realnej" Wielkiej Brytanii. Było to w czasie gdy MagicHereos(który był CP Anglii) i SirMarvin przeprowadzili się do za morze północne. Pewnie ich znacie.

Stało się oczywiste, że Polska i Wielka Brytania zostaną bliskimi przyjaciółmi, prawdopodobnie najbliższymi w grze. Ta relacja sprawiła, że Anglia porzuciła w zapomnienie inne sojusze i skupiła się tylko na przyjaźni z Polski. Gdy ONE upadło, nasunęło się tylko jedno pytani - co zamierza zrobić Polska?

Gdy sojusz TWO został stworzony, wielu brytyjczyków odetchnęło z ulgą. Przez rok walczyliśmy ramie w ramie z Polską - zbliżyło to nas jak nigdy. CoT, który aktualnie legnie w gruzach, jest dowodem na to, że tylko zdrowe, oparte na przyjaźni sojusze mogą przetrwać. Nasza znajomość zmieniała się i rozrastała - jak widać, trwa do dziś.

To oświadczenie jest wspomnieniem naszej przyjaźni jak i zapewnieniem jej kontynuowania. Nieważne, co twórcy gry nam zgotują, Polska i Wielka Brytania będą stały ramię w ramię!
