[DoE] October 2013: Branching Out

Day 2,151, 17:07 Published in USA USA by Department of Citizen Affairs

As another term begins, I would like to take a moment to congratulate Josh Frost on his presidential election and to lay out some new goals for the Department of Education.

October 2013: Branching Out

The past two months in the Department of Education have been quite fruitful, seeing massive departmental reforms as well as the revival and refinement of a number of educational programs.

So far, we've been concentrating mainly on developing our own resources in order to serve our new citizens as best we can. While we'll continue publishing and perfecting our other initiatives, it's time for us to branch out. It's time for us to really focus on bringing these resources to new players and getting them involved in the community. To this end, my deputy and I have been brainstorming some ideas on how to accomplish this goal, including:

Collaboration with party presidents
---Coordinate the sharing of resources with new players, as appropriate

Collaboration with other countries' education departments
---Building positive relationships with other MoEs
---Developing new ideas and advertising strategies
---Increasing information-sharing for the benefit of new citizens as a whole

In addition, we'll be rolling out a few new programs in the coming weeks, including:

V/C/S Program
---Offering rewards to new citizens who vote, comment, and subscribe to our newspaper

Scavenger Hunt
---Offering rewards to new citizens who successfully complete an educational scavenger hunt

Stay tuned for more details on these new initiatives as we progress through the term!
