[GOM:6] The Plague?
Sweet Drinker
This is a variance chart between voter turnouts between Sept and Oct 2013.
Voter turnout is considered by most to be the best metric of determining actual active population statistics. (The ingame 'Active Population' feature is woahfully inaccurate)
*Single candidate elections are in italics
It's been awhile since I charted international population statistics. But the variance between last 2 months' voter turnouts internationally represents a population decline with the potential to rival the catastrophic losses of V2 if this trend continues into next month.
Usually I'd conclude an article with an explanation or prediction based on the statistics. But what is there to say that those Red columns don't say already?
Either Erepublik has undergone the fastest culling of illegal accounts in it's history, or the prognosis for this game is bleak.
To all of you who are no longer here to read this article:
It has been a pleasure to play with you, both ally and foes.

What blows my mind is:
Erep lost 3,627 people, almost 11% of it's active population in a single month.
Yet somehow all the assholes remain...

The future doesn't look so bright, does it?
So bright, ya gotta wear blindfolds...
Ofc, it's not impossible that there was a mass culling of multi accounts.
However considering one of the few countries not to suffer from depopulation is SERBIA... that theory doesn't seem likely lol
I wonder if erep labs keeps a count of the accounts it bans. Would be illuminating to see that stat.. though we're unlikely to
eSerbian elections for September went little better than on your graph.
One candidate was deleted from elections as he got other citizenship.
He had around 1000 votes I think so eSerbia too lost around 300-400 voters...
That is interesting. Ty for shedding a little light on Serbia's anomalous chart
You should also chart international gold buying statistics to see if erepublik is really dying... XD
(v+s)
somebody should.... wink wink
just check the damage needed for BH medals and you will have your answer. My food fight is enough to take a medal in MPP fight, which I haven't been able to do for months because of all free stuff thrown into game. I guess giving so much free stuff didn't work that well in the end.
You were once one of Erepublik's greatest goldbuyers.
If the game had been almost exclusively composed of goldbuyers would you have bothered?
VOTED HARD
It doesn't matter if others buy or not, I stopped because battles are meaningless, tournaments and challenges are not what I supported in eRepublik and total damage is still not transparent and it most likely never will be. That and the fact I can't be active any more because of RL xD
Yeah, I'm just curious if Erep Labs follows a model that exterminates nonbuyers in lieu of promoting total purchases, will the drive to buy collapse entirely when it truly becomes just 'Visa Wars'?
I'm making the assumption that player decline will be skewed toward nonbuyers because human nature encourages ppl who have made a RL investment to stay and 'protect' it.
with a monthly fee that they introduced through war stash, they are safe. The only changes they introduce are tournaments and clashes and missions... so investment from their part is minimal. It can go on like this for months without them being worried.
The real issue is their will to bring the strategy back and to stop favoring the strong countries. I am guessing that the investment required is too big and outcome is uncertain so they won't do it.
In every poll I've ever seen the chief reason ppl continue to play is because of their ingame 'friends or community'.
That means that player loss has the potential to fuel itself into terminal velocity. The question is at what point does it cross the threshold?
Community working together is no longer needed in this game so old players who used to care are saying enough is enough which means they will no longer try and retain the new ones that come in.
the fat lady has left the building
Voted
I see 38 Conway's multis were discovered by admins...
That's only a fraction of them sure.
Voted but Czech republic hasn't even two candidates so this could be misleading. 🙂
Voting statistics from single candidate elections are in italics.
I forgot to mention that, I'll amend the article ty
Then great 🙂
For those nations you could alway look at the turnout for congress and PP elections to see if they are similar to the CP turnout. If the congress turnout is significantly higher, then use that number. Some people may not vote in a single candidate CP election in lieu of voting against the candidate.
I've tried that in the past.
You tend to get higher voter numbers by using Congress elections, but the wiped countries ruin your charts.
If you apply crossovers for wiped countries the data gets totally corrupted
!!!!!
hey sweet... can you do an overall pie chart... of all the countries combined ?
i love pie
I've been staring at the spreadsheets so long I don't even see them anymore.
I just see 'Serb multi', 'Serb multi' 'Serb multi' : D
figurepole¡¡¡
multis in the world¡¡¡¡¡
Well, we all knew that someday this game will die, didn`t we? I thonk the time is near...
*think 😐
i was thonking the same thing
* the same thong 😐
nice job.

in Pakistan there was a domestic dispute so one party pretty much did not vote and they were in the 20 odd range.
I don't possess the time or social skills to scrutinize each country's situation individually. However it's the overall trend I wished to illustrate. 20 Pakistani protesters really don't make much of an impact to international statistics!
I was adding more insight to your analysis.
and I appreciate it.
I'm just making excuses for my shortcomings : D
Some counties need to leave TWO and make the game more even
lol i just commented on CP's article about how we should maybe forget new citz program n start trying to retain older citz .
actually as I pointed out prizes posted and average salaries was a indication that there was a lot of inactive dead accounts. the rapid decline is a indication that Plato see this as a problem concerning work taxes and therefore is helping out your wealthier player as he sees governments has adopted negative attitudes towards them
the biggest problem i see is this http://www.erepublik.com/en/country/politics/Ireland. sweet brian, appleman ,seanan and ian please relent control of the top spots. there is many many older players who have never touched that controls your relentless occupation of that positions has left our country in a constant state of depression and i dont care ism. to explain it in another way - this is a game there is parts of the game you refuse access to others and you have no right to do this. why do you do this. r u stupid or something? and no they wont speak up they will just leave.
how much longer will we need to occupy them before you leave?
I WILL NEVER LEAVE AND WHY SHOULD I?
