[C4] State of Emergency: A Gentleman's Guide to Being Wiped

➳ So, our country lives under the threat of being wiped. What would being wiped mean for the average eAmerican.

First the bad news:

✓ Being wiped means you can’t take an American job and you can’t hire anyone if you own a company. As long as there are no free eUS regions, you will be forced to take a job in another country (but you will not need to change citizenship). Once you’ve secured a job in a foreign country, you’re free to move back to the eUS.

✓ Being wiped also means that the eUSA would no longer have a Congress. One consequence of not having a congress is that it would prevent currency/gold from the country account from being donated to the national orgs. This could be damaging to a country that doesn’t have sufficient money in their orgs to last the duration of the wipe. Not a likely scenario in the eUS.

✓ Our CoT allies, such as they are able, would not be capable of participating in any RW’s against our occupiers on eUS soil, leaving us to fight alone.



Now the good news:

✓ Being wiped would likely galvanize a nation which has spent months stagnating in a battle against an intractable internal threat with no meaningful external wars behind which to rally. A common enemy, or seven of them, can be a unifying force fostering greater cooperation and quelling some in-fighting, although to what degree would remain to be seen.

✓ Frankly, this one could go either way, but I’m going to go ahead and add it to the ‘good’ column. Being wiped may offer reasons, both game-related, as well as social reasons, for new players to stick around longer than a few days. We will be fighting in battles that truly matter and every point of damage, Div 1 - 4, will matter too. New players can have a hard time finding where they fit into this 2041 day old, New World. As opposed to being dropped in the stagnant eUS of these past few months, a new player joining during a wipe would get an immediate sense that what they do actually matters, making their transition a much smoother one.

✓ It’s purely speculation, but perhaps being wiped will prompt new personalities to step forward and take leadership roles they may not have under different circumstances.

✓ If the country is wiped during the country president elections on the 5th, then nothing is actually affected. Everyone with US citizenship, regardless of location, will be able to vote for a CP candidate as per usual.

✓ The eUSA is a big country. If we are wiped, it will likely be an event of limited duration. Any extended occupation of such a large swath of territory would be both costly to hold and difficult to manage for the occupying nation(s).



What you can do:

✓ Fight.

⓵ Fight as hard as you can afford to and not a penny more.

⓶ Do not spend gold on Energy Bars or First Aid Kits. These are a pure waste of gold, particularly for new players.

⓷ Do the damage you can afford to do. It will be appreciated.

✓ The eUSA is full of people willing to help out new players with food or weapons, join a good MU and a non PTO political party, grow your friend network, use all three feeds to ask for help. You’ll be surprised at the response you will get.

✓ Be active. Activity, whether it is in your MU or political party, is always appreciated. Ask an officer or a party official what you can do to help out.
