[CP] DON'T Get Cocky

Day 2,036, 18:08 Published in Ireland Ireland by Sweet Drinker

Yes, it's a great victory.
It's just one region

Yes, it looked pretty easy.
Shit takes a lot of work actually

Yes, we should be happy.
BUT DON'T GET COCKY IRELAND

UK is still a much larger nation than us.
They are still a member of a WTF-OTT-BrokeTheGame alliance

No, we're not racing to press the NE button.
No, we're not going to 'take the fight to them'.

Because we'll lose

The fact I'm willing to admit that, in the open, where all of Britain can see, punctuates the statement.
It would be ridiculous for us to even pretend that we think we'd win.
That is so obvious to everyone I won't embarrass the country by trying...

We'll be keeping this a private war. No MPP stacks. Toe-to-toe.

At the end of the previous RW in Dublin, I gave Britain's executive a gentlemanly 'heads-up' that we would be coming in hard today.
I don't know whether they thought I was bluffing, were too distracted, or underestimated it.
Perhaps really they're just no more keen on this war than I am myself.

There are a lot of British players I've grown to like over the years. People I respect, and could enjoying playing with as much as against.
Though honestly I can't foresee where we are on the same side, our friends and theirs are unlikely to ever get along...
But I can see one where we respect each other, don't try to ruin each other, and can have a laugh while playing for opposite teams in this game.

On the other han😛

There are some British player I really don't like. Some that place an unaccountable premium on removing Ireland from the map.
Some that seem to be playing purely to cause mischief, even if it's to the detriment of their own community as well as ours.
I'm sure those players share my dislike.

I'm sure many Brits share these same sentiments regarding Ireland.

Britain was not wrong to want to wipe us. A previous CP agreed to a Non-Aggression Pact with them while his finger was on the attack button.
He didn't even tell his own people he'd done this until after the NE was launched.
That is the worst kind of form in erepublik.

One thing all of my experiences in this game has taught me is that your word is worth more than all the money in your account.
Money can be replaced much easier than your reputation.

I'd ask all aspiring players in Ireland to remember that:
If you choose to become a representative or our country: your action will determine how the rest of the world views ALL of us, not just yourself.

And I'd also ask players that are not representatives of the nation not to pretend they do.
This is something of late I've seen evidence of.
Go out, meet new and exotic people by all means! But don't make agreements on behalf of Ireland when your not in the position to do so.
Don't make agreements you're not in a position to honour.

I apologize for bringing such a solemn atmosphere to what is undeniably a great day for all of us.
Buts it's precisely times like this, when people are hopped up on adrenalin, that we tend to do and say the craziest things.

Enjoy our return to the map eIreland. I can't think of a single person I know here that I didn't see out on the battlefield.
I've many thank you's to make across the world as well.

I hope today marks the beginning of saner times for Ireland and UK both.
Where we can play on opposite sides in a sportsmanlike manner.

Sleep well my friends, tomorrow comes sooner than you think 😉
