In Éireann’s Cause, Come Woe or Weal
ChewChewShoe
'Mid cannon's roar and rifles' peal, we'll chant a Soldier's Song.
For the past couple of months we have seen Ireland decay, a once great nation is now tattered and torn. Inactivity and indifference has spread like a plague, our unity is gone and those who were our friends have become enemies. Harsh remarks have been exchanged but we as a unit need to move forward, maximize our efficiency and show the world what we are really made of. We as a small nation have accomplished incredible things both military and economically in the past, but we must bring achievements into our future, one with me as Country President is already brighter.
Though as one man I can not do this alone, our future is in every citizen’s hands. We cannot afford idleness, waste or inefficiency. No one built this country on their own. This country is great because we built it together. Unity is strength... when there is teamwork and collaboration, wonderful things can be achieved.
Wonderful things will be achieved.
To a country set in a situation such as Ireland, maintaining a strong Foreign Affairs ministry has always been in the best of the nations’ interest. Ireland is a nation that historically has not only been built but also kept strong by foreign influence, be it positive or negative.
We have in the past faced many devastating wars but we have also faced many triumphant victories.
The once great alliance of EDEN seems not to be quite so perfect on the inside as it has made itself out to be, where nations are leaving and seeking new allegiances and clamour for reform is heard across the globe.
We are currently being subdued by the Polish Empire and their vast and superior armies. Hope in today’s Ireland is not particularly abundant, however, the Polish are not unbreakable.
As such, Ireland, I promise you your liberation and your freedom should I be elected President.
Dear Ireland, the world is changing, and we must do our best to secure the future of our great nation.
Peace With Poland.
Poland has been a leading world power since the days of V1 and they are intending to stay there, showing no sign of getting weaker. Despite Poland’s superior military force, however, we can break their armies with something very few leaders retort to in this world, the pen.
I believe that the Polish are much more willing to negotiate a fair peace treaty with us than most of you expect. Some of you might oppose such a peace treaty for integral purposes, however, truth is that when the allies we went to war for already have struck separate treaties without consulting us, when we have no land to fight to protect and we have no support due to the overall relevance of the war on a world stage, we are facing a situation where a peace treaty is for the better.
I have in the past contacted the Polish government regarding their stance on the war, and they, not entirely unexpectedly, do not seem to bestow much care upon us.
Peace is an option, and so it always shall be.
Ireland and EDEN
The situation between Ireland and EDEN has for many months been shaky.
Many are the voices within Ireland that claim for reform, for change, for the better. I am one of those.
EDEN has decayed over the past year, having gone from being a true brotherhood, where all oppression seemed like but an ant, for as long as there was brotherhood.
Nowadays we have an oppressive almost oligarchy of the Headquarters and their larger member states, where right to an opinion is measured in fire-power, where subdued minor nations are forced to fight for the imperialist expansionist ideals of their superiors within the alliance.
For the past three months we have seen quite the stalemate in the previously rocky relation between Ireland and the EDEN HQ, this however, is not due to improvement within EDEN or Ireland itself, but due to the indifference of the Irish government.
We have for far too long stood idly by and allowed EDEN to shut our mouths by giving us a few hours of attention every now and then in exchange for our complete obedience when it comes to fighting Turkish, Argentinian or Portuguese wars of imperialism or arrogance.
We are being pushed around by foreign powers because we allow ourselves to be pushed around by foreign powers.
I am not claiming that we should leave EDEN, I am simply pointing out the fact that there are major flaws within EDEN that needs to be taken care of. I suggest not an impulsive retort that we may come to regret, but rather that we, the proud Irish people, will come together and together find the solution to our problem, instead of expecting a foreigner in the EDEN Headquarters that has no sympathy for us to magically sort everything.
Ireland, the fact is such that EDEN has decayed to a point where we will choose to have to either leave the alliance, or put all the strength we have united into fixing what is wrong within EDEN.
As president I would hold a referendum on our stance on EDEN, a referendum where all viewpoints are put forward, where the positive and negative of all different changes are put forward, where the voice of the Irish people is truly put forward.
Circle of Trust
Over the past several months our relationship with the great nation of Bulgaria has moved in both directions back and forth more than ever.
Bulgaria, when in EDEN, used to be a very close ally of the Irish people, defending us with what they could spare at all times.
During January, February and March the Bulgarian soldiers were seen supporting us more than any nation has ever done. They cleared our way to becoming a force to be counted with in the world.
Our relations grew tighter and Ireland and Bulgaria reached a point where the two nations considered each other to be their closest ally, and negotiations begun to leave the oppressive and illoyal alliance that was EDEN.
A charter for a new alliance was formed in March 2012, a charter of an alliance where all members were equal and no member had authority to tell any other country within the alliance what to do or what to say. It was uncertain who would join this alliance at the time, but the two major nations within the alliance were Ireland and Bulgaria.
Within soon negotiations to attract more countries to the alliance arose, and we saw the addition of Russia, Chile and others, who begun laying the bricks for what we nowadays call the Circle of Trust.
Ireland’s history with the alliance ends not there, we begun neglecting them.. We stated that our loyalty to EDEN cannot be broken no matter how they treat us.
We sent Bulgaria, Chile, Russia and others away packing, but what for?
Since then our relations with Bulgaria have decayed, however, Bulgaria in general still holds a very positive attitude towards Ireland. I have worked with Irishmen (Mostly the ICA) to ensure that these relations will not die.
During times of EDEN neglect not only did we neglect those who showed us support, but we neglected ourselves.
I have spoken to many leaders within the Circle of Trust for many months now about the possibility of Ireland being pardoned for the neglect of her former allies, and they have unanimously stated that if Ireland prove that we are indeed worthy of taking a step in their direction, they will welcome us with open arms.
The Circle of Trust was founded of the most Irish trait of them all, the integrity to remove all foreign influence from our internal policies and grow together as a nation.
The Circle of Trust is still a very real alternative however, I will not force Ireland to go anywhere she does not approve of going. I will lead Ireland where Ireland herself chooses to go, and by such the power of the future of Ireland is in your hands if you decide to elect me for President.
The Kingdom Across the Sea
The United Kingdom and Ireland have for a very long time in this game influenced each others’ politics, both domestic and foreign.
Born allies were divided due to foreign influence, ended up at each others’ throats and brought upon each other the undoing of us both.
The past few months we have seen this change for the better though, we now have a well respected peace treaty in place between our two countries and we are enjoying stable relations.
We have not much to gain from a war with the United Kingdom, and as by such I will not attempt to undo our positive relations, but instead encourage new, positive, communication between the two of us.
The United Kingdom and Ireland can indeed prosper together, side by side, if we so wish to take the step.
There is however one matter that needs attention to be drawn upon, namely the region swap between the two countries.
Currently we have a region swap in place which allows the United Kingdom to hold control over the provinces of Dublin and Louth, allowing them to gain a resource bonus, namely fruit in Louth.
The Irish on the other hand of the agreement receives Northern Ireland and Scotland, where we gain a resource bonus of fish in Northern Ireland and an opportunity to expand outside of our realm through Scotland.
The problem of the region swap is not the fact that there is a swap in place itself, but rather the fact that by giving up Dublin and Louth, Ireland is giving up a part of its integrity as an independent country. This issue has been heard debated many times in Irish media, many claiming we are to regain our regions, and as many claiming the peace treaty is working for our better.
I am not here to tell you what side of this conflict is right and which is wrong, I am here to put to you the means to end this conflict once and for all.
I bring you, Ireland, a referendum, where all Irish citizens are allowed to voice their opinion regarding the issue and where all carry an equal vote.
Ministerial Reforms
The Irish Ministry of Foreign Affairs has for the past few months not been particularly well represented. We have traditionally had one person granted the position of Minister with full authority over the Ministry, and this one person has negotiated with strictly EDEN, pro-EDEN or TERRA nations when they have chosen to do so.
We have seen ambassadors being sent out to different parts of the world but doing very little actual representation for our nation.
I do personally not believe that this is an efficient system, and therefore I am intending to reform the Foreign Ministry
Ireland, the world is in a delicate matter where nobody can be sure who to trust and not to trust. We must no longer be bound to one-sided alliance politics and instead open our eyes out over the horizon and build relations with countries we in the past have considered to be our enemies.
I would reform the old ambassadorial system and instead implement a new, more efficient system of broadened responsibility.
We currently have ~20 inactive men sent out to post our government on different forums around the world and doing little to no actual representation. I would remove this old way, and appoint Diplomatic Attachés to different regions of the world. Having a select few of the most active we have to offer strengthening relations with all nations across the globe you can be sure that Ireland’s interest will be put forward in a clear and honest way.
Direct Democracy & The Public Relations Commission
I wish to install a more democratic rule in Ireland, giving you, the people of Ireland a larger voice in Irish politics than we have seen over the past year, by following GloveisLove's "Direct democracy" principle, with slight reformations. As per this policy, any major event that occurs is to be voted on by you, the people in a fair referendum rather than the government directly making a stance on an issue, allowing more of Ireland to influence our present, our future and use the fruits of our past for the better.
Furthermore, instead of appointing my own government I will allow the Irish population to elect many of their governmental representatives, giving, once more, the Irish people a larger say in Irish affairs. Other than this I will set up a mentor program within the government, which would consist of a minister, not only doing his/her job as a minister of a specific ministry, but also the mentor of a newer, more inexperienced player, allowing them to grow as a politician in the eWorld.
I will set up a public relations commission, set to objectively inform the Irish population on what is going on in Ireland, both domestically and abroad, which in turn would give the Irish population a better insight into what is going on in Ireland and the rest of the world, how they can be a part of it and what is required of them to change the fate of eRepublik. This commission will regularly publish articles informing the Irish population of what is going around in Ireland and around the world.
Strengthening unity within our Nation
By allowing the people a larger say within Irish political affairs I believe that not only will we decrease the pointless feuds we see going on within our nation, but also make new ways for greater ideas.
The community as a whole will grow and we will together help our nation prosper for the better.
When we as a community cooperate and allow each others’ opinions, where we encourage civil debates and where we together make a stance on issues, we are taking a step further to National Unity.
A ChewChewShoe Presidency would open up various new ways of communication between the government and the people to allow the people of Ireland to determine their fate as much as possible.
-We will increase public awareness by promoting and publishing articles focusing on not only Ireland’s political and military endeavours, but also the rest of the worlds’.
-We will form a completely new branch of government set to uphold and create ways of communication within the government causing as little internal confusion as possible.
By accomplishing this we will be able to more easily process the opinion of our citizens.
-We will hold referendums on any major issues that occur within Ireland, where a commission will be set up to take care of the referendums.
-We will create new channels of allowing the people a voice. By weekly setting out surveys to assess and further the opinion of the Irish people we hope to accomplish true greatness within Ireland.
Improving our Internal Communication
The Military Units of Ireland have for many months been divided, where different Military Units have been aligned to different parties or political groups constantly going at each others’ throats.
These conflicts are not, however, what I am here to talk about, instead I will propose to you a way to ease the tensions.
If elected I will open up fair channels of communication between the MU’s of Ireland, where daily priorities are clearly stated, where the commanders of our MU’s are allowed to voice their opinion on military matters regarding Ireland’s future, where the MU’s of Ireland will prosper together for Irelands’ better.
This will not only prove mending for the wounds within our community, but it will also increase the readiness, the mobility and the strength of our forces, making us able to more quickly organize an offense or defence should the time be right for it.
Tales of a Battle Beyond the Realm
For many months the Irish population has cried out for a chance to prove themselves worthy in the field of battle.
Ireland spent several months facing peace, inactivity and internal struggle rather than the unity of fighting a foreign foe. We have many times been promised a heroic war by our government or by EDEN as a payoff for our obedience.
The time has come for a real war.
I will, if elected president, do my best to ensure that the Irish get themselves a fight they not soon will forget. I field vast amounts of experience when it comes to Military and Foreign Affairs and it is with this expertise that I will do my best to give the Irish a war of true cause.
A war where we do not fight for the struggle of survival against a superior foe, but a war where we fight for profit, for gains, for unity and for integrity.
There are currently a few possible alternatives that we can choose from, however, the current geopolitical situation around the globe is not making it easy for us to wage any wars.
If the Irish people choose to, if the Irish people allow me to guide them, if the Irish people will give themselves the satisfaction of self-governance, I will give to them what they desire, a War of True Honour.
I will leave it to you, Ireland, to decide whether or not I am a capable candidate, to decide whether or not you believe in democracy and self-governance, to decide whether or not you believe in Ireland.
When you go to cast your vote on the fifth, I ask not for your vote, but for you conciousness. The future of Ireland is in your hands, and your vote will not just change the person in office, it will change the very core structure of Ireland.
In the meantime I shall I put to you this question..
Liberty or Aristocracy? The choice is yours to make.

I'm think my vote is starting to swing towards Chew....
Chewi über alles
I see many Irish fought for Bulgaria against own alliance EDEN. But I don't see Bulgarians in our war against Polish, at least on our side...
very good manifesto! 🙂
@Oboj - I can confirm that Chew wrote it all.

Coward's way out concerning Poland, the rest of the article looks good.
Voted good luck
Romper : Bulgaria had never fought for Ireland , you were just using them .... ROFL lol
Some very interesting insight and ideas. Good luck.
Iaswn , zdemmy , Romper , smee and the rest wanna be eWorld leaders open your eyes because the ecountries start to realize step by step slowly slowly what selfish and hypocrit people you are , U will FAIL alone , no need somebody to push U ........ i told U Rompy but you was blind mate
This is what you get from Eden in return for taking risks.
And yet they say "we do not cheat our frinds"
Hah
Btw where are the turks to say We dont cheat OUR FRINDS , only the game hahahahahaha o/
Romper is busy crying in the USA press, he probably wont read this article, it's just there has been an influx of traitors lately so he can barely cope with all. 😛
chew ❤
Disagree with some points but well spoken...
If there was so many Bulgarians defending eIreland in past few days I'm sure we'd win against Poles 😉
EDEN was there for us in Scotland, but Bulgarians wasn't, that's the fact.
Res non verba.
Romper said attack Poland?
Romper TRAITOR !
More like our idiotic congress said it. Why so many lies?
Well I'm sorry to inform you but Bulgaria's kinda busy liberating it's own regions which EDEN has as a prio. Don't believe me? Check Greek CoD, no it's not Ireland, not even Turkey who's being wiped out. 🙂

lol this is just so edenish 🙂
EDEN`s COD is Bulgaria because they are still buthurted ... insteed to help Ireland they are fighting against US i think you should think about that more .....
One thing is certain, Chew does not have a clue of what Ireland thinks as a whole. When you have a country that is known for its bravery and courage it isn't certainly for being know as taking the easy path but only the path they see fit.
Ireland has good friends in EDEN and chew knows it i guess he made new friends and forgot the old. Maybe you traded polish vodka for a good old irish pub drink...
@mikist
@shitstorm
Fair enough we take note and I agree probably should have done more, however the question is, since your own alliance does not fight for you, how do you expect others that are fighting for their freedom against your alliance to come and help you against those helping them to free themselves right now.
It does put us in a rather imposible situation and since the same alliance is not fighting for Portugal as well, there is very few who can profit from this situation....
you have nothing to be pardoned for, MPP with Ireland o7
..none of them are in Ireland or Bulgaria, that much I know.
Anyway we'll always keep a warm place in our hearts for Ireland, because you got b*lls and you don't let others push you around, something we share very much at least in this game.
Such a position always brings grief from the strong of the day who quickly forget the time they were not. As always unlike EDEN Bulgaria and CoT for that matter will not meddle in your internal politics and respect your wishes, good luck and fair winds
@ eDarkAngel Ireland and Portugal they are not good enough for the damagehood you remember , sry Bulgaria but eTurkey are making with 50 mil damage more ... we dont need you bye bye .......
Hope I can finish reading this before election day.

you were a good CP the last time, but bad at writing articles, how are you going to improve that this time?
Draver, you are blind man. Bulgaria is one of our most loyal friends. In this moment they cant help us couse they are in a worst position than us. They hare fighting against two countrys, we only against one. In fact, we should return the hand to them.
CoT is falling down. Finland today sign and mpp with Bulgaria and left EDEN. We should go one step foward, not wait that things happend, we have to make them happend.
Go Chewie for CP!!
Go Ireland!!
Hail Democracy!!
@Moo: Read the "Internal Affairs" part and you will see. 🙂
