A fight to the death for Chile

Day 1,682, 11:22 Published in Slovenia Slovenia by Ice Killa

Imagine getting thousands of new players and then seeing your homeland occupied. Imagine what kind of emotions that would arise in them. At first normally they would be keen on helping their own country, even if that takes them beyond the call of duty. Patriotic feelings often result in most irrational acts, but that's what being proud of your country makes you do. To what am I referring? I am somehow indicating that considering Chile is being occupied for start that's a good thing for new players, it raises their motivation, problem occurs when their motivation falls and most often that occurs due to the fact their country has been or is occupied for far too long that it was expected. Currently there's no doubt Chile is fighting its battle to the death, not meaning they will fail if they don't win, but they are fighting for all those who joined this game recently. For all the hard work that has gone into making Chile a strong and probably a new superpower on the rise in South America.

The ultimate goal is to see Chile fully liberated. Other - more ambitious - plans will be made in the future if that succeeds.

Argentina on the other hand will normally try to follow the Greek tactic. Something called Greek tactic in this game was the period in eRepublik when Greece occupied its fiercest enemy Turkey for over a month and even longer. Thus that made many new players leave the game and many others desert their homeland leaving to USA and other friendly and allied nations. Considering it is hard for new players in Chile to leave to other nations, the fight will evolve around their stay in this game.

Obviously Chile will improve its position a lot, even if it fails in the most basic task of liberating its homeland. But for Chileans to become an important part of this game, they must get the feeling that others are there for them. Bulgaria so far has obviously been working on diplomatic propaganda stating how Chileans are their brothers, I am paraphrasing, but you get the main idea.

Seeing how Chileans are experiencing baby booms daily, their inflow of new players may follow a domino effect. Once it gets to media, everyone will want to report about it - not wanting to be left out of something called breaking news. In Serbia that's exactly what happened, a few articles in several newspapers and then it went berserk on the TV. Causing several thousands of new players joining. But of course we must take in consideration Serbs experienced over course of a year a baby boom of over 60,000 new users.

Chile is currently not fighting for others, but itself. For its position as an important power in the world of eRepublik. Argentina is from the start in a far better position than Chile is - having a stronger core of players and having the quantity as well as quality. Their position may not be easy, as wasn't the position of Serbians when they were almost fully occupied by Croats. Vojvodina, one of the most far southern regions became their refugee. The same may hapen to Chile, one region liberated, and others will follow. Once a country is liberated, the defense of certain regions will lose its importance. What it matters with a country is to occupy it fully or leave it alone - at least in the starting days of the war.

Today, an important thing may happen. The ongoing resistance war in Chile, to be more precise in Zona Central, will determine the outcome of many things in South America. Will Chile manage to fight back Argentina and above all, will they be able to show who they really are? The problem of getting new players was never really an issue for any of the mentioned countries, the problem was always how to "preserve" them. The basic formula is that out of 10 thousands only a few hundred stay.

I know much attention is going to the South American theatre of war, but that's quite obvious. Every country automatically becomes far more important than it was after the baby boom. Same happened to Poland, Serbia, Macedonia and same will happen in the future. Currently the importance of both of Chile and Argentina is at its peak, but will soon lower leaving the countries important, but yet at the same time not at the center of the attention as that is the case at the moment.

To sum it up; Chile is fighting its battle for survival. Succeeding will bring even more success in the short term, failing will probably result in new players soon leaving this game - giving up hope way too early than they should have.
