"The history of free men is never really written by chance but by choice; their choice!" ~ Dwight Eisenhower

Dear India,
I've been pondering on this 'manifesto' all day today & will keep this as short & simple as I can.

I'll be contesting the 39th Indian Presidential elections in April, something that was the far from my plans to be honest; but I feel necessary at this point.

You may or may not have realized this, but we are at a crossroad today. The EDEN-Bulgaria conflict has left us between a rock and a hard place. I've always been straight up honest with you & so I will lay it out as I see it. As much as I personally see this entire EDEN-Bg conflict as a diplomatic failure of HQ and have the deepest love & respect for Bulgaria, I believe we must choose our own path, not only with passion, but also with rationality.

The way I see it, on one hand, we chose to be pro-EDEN since as long as I can remember; and in spite of our 'rough patches' we've stuck with each other for better or worse - supported each other more times than we can count. The recent conflicts have put us in a tough spot, but there are always diplomatic ways of handling the situation without resorting to hostility & not lose our relations with EDEN. On the other hand, we are losing citizens over this and that's not feasible (especially with PTO-ers suspected recently). If we choose to side exclusively with Bulgaria, there is a strong possibility we'll eventually slip into a 'neutrality' mode, given we'll never be pro-ONE.

In either case, as much as I joke about playing the Diktator, this choice is not for one individual or a selective group to make. The 'choice' is not about the President you elect or a particular foreign policy or party affiliations - the choice is about the very way you want to play this game. The choices won't be easy, and no matter the outcome, those elected will most likely face criticism.

Why should you elect me then? Cos I can take whatever is thrown at me. I have made hard choices before - not always popular ones - and I am still here.

I play rough when it comes to Foreign Affairs. 😉

"Democracy cannot succeed unless those who express their choice are prepared to choose wisely. The real safeguard of democracy, therefore, is education." ~ Franklin Roosevelt

Of course, the basis of making the 'right choices' (if there is anything such - only convenient ones) is information. Just making choices isn't the basis of democracy - making informed choices is. And by information I don't mean only that which is available in Wiki & media - but learning through first hand, hands-on experience.

I have always had a passion for developing India's infrastructure & ever since my first stint in Cabinet back in 2009, have proposed and formed many 'institutions' to streamline India's functioning and administration - some that have worked, some that haven't & some that have fizzled out over time.

To be honest I am still formulating these ideas and plans & will of course require all your support to see them through, but some of the stuff I plan on forming/restructuring if I'm electe😛

A Diplomats / International Relations Corps which will essentially be a training ground for Foreign Affairs. I will request past MoFA's to support in this endeavor, so we can be assured of sound Foreign policy in the months to come, no matter who is at the helm.

A Finance Committee of sorts who, like the above, will be responsible for developing sound long-term financial policy. With regard to taxes and such, Congress will of course remain the 'decision-making' body, but the FC will essentially lay out why one policy suits us over another, so there can be a clear-cut blue-print for current and future Finance Ministers to use as reference. Again, successful past MoF's shall be requested to be part of this project.

The Retention, MoMC & NDA programs are already proven successes & I won't try to fix what's not broken. However, during the Thailand war I had on numerous occasions mentioned that our priority needs to be supplying our own soldiers, rather than just winning battles and aiding mercs rank up in the process. In keeping with that, increasing supplies is something I will be looking at.

In keeping with all of the above, one key aspect I'll keen to try is having our top MU's doing Joint Strikes for allies, not just through internal cooperation, but also increased coordination with allies themselves. Towards that the MU Commanders will be approached for forming a Joint Staff. Of course the MU's are free to choose whether to be part of this or not, in keeping with their policy and even on a daily basis will be free to choose whether to partake in specific ops or not. But hey, what better way to develop camaraderie between ourselves and with allies, but killing pixels together!!

These are ideas I've been working on, and if you have any suggestions / feedback, feel free to send me a pm.

Just maintaining the status quo has never really been my thing ...

"Given the choice between the experience of pain and nothing, I would choose pain." ~ William Faulkner

To be completely honest, I sucked terribly as a President the last time around. Not a secret. Heh But I think I haven't done too bad as a leader, one who has served this virtual land with passion & dedication, one who has always taken full responsibility for his actions & done his utmost to transform the most challenging of circumstances to India's benefit. Whether I get elected or not, that won't change.

Choose well, India.
