1990's memories Page4: Hana Ranman 華爛漫

Hi there, like you I am yet another irrational but obsessed player who is still alive in eRepublik. For some reasons, I want to recall the time when I was a lazy stupid high school student.

Hence, I will try to share a song that I used to play, along with the feelings and memories with you. After all, sharing life with friends and strangers is the sole reason for me to stay, let us see if we had a similar life.

Preface:

I got a job. I need to graduate in September and move to another city. Therefore, I had been working solely on my experiment for 2 weeks, it was definitely the most struggling moment for me. In the next 2 weeks, I have to complete and submit my dissertation in order to schedule an oral defense on time. I will make it and you will see another article in Early July.

I recalled the first time that my supervisor invited me to work on a research project with him, I was truly grateful and delighted. Now, only sorrow and regret left.

Ivory Tower is no place for human.

No one can separate Hana Ranman from DDR.

I met my first girlfriend when I was 16 in an online game called "Super Dancer Online (SDO)" which is a complete imitation from "DDR". I lost her contact (and not dare to find it out because of an obvious reason) but I still have the contact of two other friends that I met in SDO. They are no way to be a important person in my life, but they are special and you will talk freely to them.

6-keys mode is also available lately

Actually, I was trying to play "O2jam" when I was 14 years old, but there were just unnecessarily too many freaking keys and I could not handle. I found 4 keys acceptable for me, so I started with "Stepmania", then joined "SDO" after 2 years. These games literally woke up the insane typing monster in my deepest mind, since then I stopped playing piano and played with computer keyboard at least an hour everyday for 1 year. Thanks to this game, I seldom find people who type significantly faster than me.

But, why this song?

I started to play in an Amusement Arcade with my high school friends when I was 17. The DDR dancing platform was right there, my second-best friend that ever exists in my life challenged me and I accepted. After that, we were obsessed to DDR and, because of some sad reasons, my mum gave me more pocket money so we could go to the Arcade at weekends.

We played fairly bad, and my friend's dance style sucked. Nevertheless, it was fun and we always started with this song. We also played other songs, TERRA and BeforU were always on our top preference.

8 years have passed, Goodbye Revolution and hello Evolution.

You can only find Dance Evolution in an Arcade. It is a Kinect-driven game, Hana Ranman remains in the song list. In the past, only little people understood the meaning of a perfect full combo and cheered for you. Now, an experienced performer can draw more attention from the strangers who will applaud even they know nothing.

Meh, my heart has gone with DDR.
