A talk with Nohjis, president of eBelgium.

How did your eLife begin and how did you progress to eventually end up where you are now, as CP of eBE?

I was looking for a political browser game with sufficient depth to replace several other online games I was playing. Most of which required a degree of attention which is no longer possible to combine with my other obligations in life. At first when I took just a glance at eRepublik I found only very little replayability in two-clicking. That changed a lot during the first elections. Noticing another degree in the game I got hooked and got myself invested fully in ePolitics. It's great fun to see how players can create far more then just the game, and eventually, through a lot of time investment in these ePolitics, help in creating and organizing new and old things I ended up getting elected as President of eBelgium.

What problems are occring at the moment in eBE and how do you plan to tackle them?

At the moment eBelgium is very divided and the difference in opinion became personal for some players. I see this as the biggest problem and have set a large set of goals especially for those in charge of domestic policy. The first thing to do was take the attention away from these differences. Currently we have provided in entertainment through the domestic affairs and we've had great fun. In the coming week several things will be brought to debate after research work made by the Ministry of Home Affairs.

What is your general opinion of eNL and its people? Are you friends with many people from here?

To be honest I don't have full knowledge of all what eNetherlands is and does but what I do know is that the few who I've been in contact with were all people with a positive mindset that I'm happy to have met and hope to continue to share friendly relations with.

What are your thoughts about a future eUNL? Now that eNL has it's oil back it would be very profitable for both sides to share their land.

Personally I believe that for experienced players, the advantages outweigh the disadvantages. There are however difficulties to realize and maintain such a project in a more lasting manner. One example is that there always exist eNationalists who for reasons beyond rationale believe in states as they are in real life.

What are your future plans?

I'm looking forward to completing this term as president with a confirmed return to neutrality for eBelgium and a few extra programs to retain and activate new and less new players. In the coming weeks I will also be resourcing to set myself some new goals after the end of this presidency.

And finally, what do you do outside of eRepublik? Hobbies, general interests? Do you study/work? Tell me a bit about yourself.

The real me is a family man with a wife and two young kids (1,5y and 3,5y old), I work for a travel insurance company. I was brought up with a passion for gaming especially RPG which takes the biggest chunk of my time after taking care of the family, the house and work. I have a wide array of other interests which include listening to music (preferably containing piano), following the political news and "traveling" close to home (daytrips in an array of +/- 100km around home).

A talk with Konrad Neumann, politician of eGermany
Interviewer: missingno

Where did your eLife start? What ambitions and goals did you set for yourself?
Would you say you've achieved them now, being the 3x president of eGermany?

I started my life based on my RL location, New Jersey. I started playing on day 149. I do not know the sign up procedure now, but back then, the form which asked you where you want to start looks like the account forms that ask you for your email etc. Instead of selecting the location of where I wanted to be, I started in NJ instead. At the time I was considering being either eBritish or more likely, eSwedish a friend of mine was eSwedish at the time.

After I joined the game my eSwedish friend quit so I stayed in NJ. I was a member of the America Advancement Party (AAP) and was becoming more and more active with time. While never to a point of congressman or anyone important, I talked a lot in the AAP forums and was part of the debates etc. I was considering being a congressman in eUS but events in Europe quickly changed my mind.

The story of the death of the ATLANTIS alliance should be well known to many. Germany was a member albeit in a "trail" membership status. The Swedes and the Poles lured Germany into a position, trapping Germany from any real political support. They welcomed Germany to a trail membership and when the trial period ended, the prevented Germany from joining the alliance and quickly invaded Germany without proper reason other than internal Swedish and Polish reasons (low domestic activity for the Swedes and revenge for the Poles). These reasons are not good enough reasons for me and I became passionate to aid the Germans. I replaced my political goals in the eUS and I commit myself fully to the German cause. I moved to Schleswig-Holstein and other locations for key battles but soon the war efforts went south and I relocated to the UK. At that time I wrote many propaganda in the UK media which was pro Germany. This caught the attention of MortenLond (German MoD), BushDaBunny (German Congressman), and Gobba (German CP) and it was them that really convinced me to be eGerman when eGerman is safe and to run for political office. My focus after the war was just that, become an eGerman politican.

At this point, I can say I have done all that I really set myself to do. I am congress of eGermany, Netherlands, and Belgium for many times. I was vice MoFA and later MoFA of Germany and NL. I was CP of Germany (no more, I have enough), and PP of OMG 7 terms and PP of GLD for 4 terms, one of the author of the Phoenix Alliance etc

I have done what I really want to do. In many ways, I do not want to do most of the above again. I just want to hang out at times, chat and relax. The political jobs that I do take now is low stress.

What do you know of eNL and its people? Do you have many friends here?

eNL is a small country located between Germany and failed state of eBelgium. For the most part, I am not sympatric to small countries. Base on many experiences I have with them like Belgium, Swiss, Czechs, etc a lot of them are inexperienced and highly oligarchical. While most countries are oligarchical, middle to bigger sized countries have more people and more competition which makes the struggle and competition of the larger countries more intense, the ideas more diverse. More people who are in the struggle which makes it harder for a individual to obtain hegemonic influences. If we look at Belgium, you can clearly see the hegemonic influence of ThomasRed and Mittlekemuis. The late Clifford Burns in Switzerland, and so on.

The Netherlands is a bit unique in that while there are elements of oligarchy, but the structure and the practice of politics resembles more of middle sized countries. I&W and LSD when I was in NL was evenly balanced. Unlike the Belgians which are mostly homogenized with the exception of Shadow, Xironn, and Xgentis, the rest follows the cult of personality of that of ThomasRed and Mittekemuis. Their community is uncompetitive and views change as something dangerous. The Dutch are more enlightened. They compete and therefore, the Dutch while a small country will relatively weak power, they have more experience on the political sphere. The Dutch also have much better governance and no BS. The Dutch focus on what they need and not what they want but cannot really have.

As to friends, Auggy, MaartenW, Tim Veltkamp, Garmr, Epix, Markus Bell, Daniel Parker, Tonie/NoTie, Antiko, Fhaemita, hollenboer, Deviljte, Luuklag, Shrubbery, Broersje, Fiskkeho, Dick Dastardly, the AI brothers and others are my friends. I am sure there are some that I missed.

eGermany provides a barrier between a lot of European countries and ePoland, do you think more effort should be put into supplying germany with help and giving it more credit?

I am not in any alliance HQ anymore and I am not in the best position to say much about this issue. Terra and EDEN did a lot for Germany in the past and I am sure they will continue to do their best for Germany. For the health of eGermany directly relates the well being of the entire alliance due to our location.

What future plans do you have?

Not much, just be a good PP of Germany's largest party, the OMG.

ePoland recently declared eGermany as a natural enemy, what is your country doing to prevent ePoland from taking over eEurope again? Or do you think they will not get through this time with the help of TEDEN?

To be frank, we expect to lose regions. I do not have government access etc so I cannot say what the government is feeling but members within our party as well as the MU I am in, the feeling is not optimistic. With that said, it is best for the Dutch government to prepare themselves as well if our lack of optimism translate to reality.

Tell us a bit about your personal life, do you work, study, what do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

In real life, I am working on my Masters in political science. I have a BA in history, political science and philosophy. In my spare time, I read a lot of news. I am a big fan of the Economist magazine. I also enjoy TV shows like Top Gear, Daily Show, Colbert Report, and Star Trek. I used to do more PC gaming but most of the time I do not have the time for it.

Interviewer: missingno

Where did your eLife start? What country are you originally from and what made you move, if you did.

I was e-born in Serbia my rl country, but I guess I have been at least there...from there I have moved to Colombia to help a couple of people (that know are my truly friends, we are the Hermanos Cartel😁 ptoing that country...when the pto came to an end I went back to Serbia...after a while I went to Greece when started a kind of political campaign, similiar are being made now but I am not in any of them...then I went to Brazil a country in which in real life I lived of my life and decided to live my e-life there...(but in the meantime I have just changed to MNE to join MU😃)

What were your original goals? Did you want to become president of somewhere?

My originally goals were I think the ones everyone has when registering...to help his country and be the best...Unfortunately with so many changes I didn't make the progress I wanted in the economical and military carrier so I decided to write articles and share my opinions with others (also in the forum)...but then I realized that people don't like articles with some character that can teach you something or just show you the true they like to see articles the kind big brother (when you don't know who f***s who)...Then originally I saw what certain group were doing and even made an article to try to make people aware...when I started to see where my country were going in this game I tried to change that, but I failed...I guess we are exactly what we hate in rl the most...

What are you up to now? Are you just levelling or are you active in politics or the military?

I am neither active in politics of military...just two-clicking...and even that sometimes is hard for me to do...

You have two media mogul medals, what tips or advice can you give to other people to try and get this medal?

My personal opinion is that the media is dead, when I write some article I write so my friends can see it and maybe someone who concern it...To be honest, I didn't bought my two medals with q1 food like others do, I bought it with gold 🙂

Do you know any people from the eNetherlands and what do you know about our country in general?

In real life a have a far parent that I have never met that live in Netherlands...actually I guess we are everywhere🙂

As a Serb the first thing I should think when someone speaks about Netherlands is the Hag, but I also understand that

everyone just looks for it's own interests and that in the end we are all just people...Beside that I would like to go to

Amsterdam I heard you make some of the best parties there...🙂 (can't imagine why xD)
End actually I am pretty sure I have some people for Netherlands in my frienlist, anyway all the best for you all people,

and thank you for inviting me for your interview it was a pleasure o7

Thank you!
