How to become a Minister of Foreign Affairs

First things first.
Before you even begin a career as minister of foreign affairs you must become an ambassador. Learn to communicate on the ambassador page from the country you get assigned too. Learn to use irc. And become very active on irc.
When you have mastered these skills you can apply for the job of State Secretary for the department of Foreign affairs.
What does the foreign affairs department do?
First off all you must keep friendly relations with the eWorld. Not all of course that isn’t possible but you do need to talk with our direct neighbours and get a feel of what is going on with them. Then it is important to have contacts in different alliances. At this moment that would be TERRA - ONE - EDEN - ABC - LUNA.

An other returning task for the ministry of foreign affairs is the search for an MPP. The minister of foreign affairs presents its findings to the CP and to congress. Congress can then later vote for it when the CP puts it to vote ingame.
Last but not least, has the Minister of Foreign affairs the duty to deploy and support ambassadors. That means searching people to become ambassador, motivating ambassadors and welcome foreign ambassadors in our country and show them around our forum and introduce them to our community.
Daily tasks
* First off all you don’t forget to work and train like every other soul in the eWorld.
* Make sure you are subscribed to the most important governmental newspapers. That would be Government as MoD newspapers.
* Look for these newspapers and read them.
* Make for yourself a gdoc or some other kind of document you can share. You can write the most interesting facts you learned on there. For example, who is fighting who, interesting topics you read about what is going on in the home affairs from different countries, who signed alliances with who and so on.
* Motivate your ambassadors to go on the forum of their country and let them report interesting things. Try and go yourself too.
* Come on IRC and go on to different channels. If you introduce yourself in English most of the time there will be people who can answer you.
To help you along a bit I give to you a few Foreign Affairs channels. This list is far from complete and I invite everybody who knows other channels to ad them in the list.

As you can see there it states that there is need to talk with direct neighbours. Looking at the map Netherlands is part of that.

You should add Strassbourg nations, we are your neighbours who defend each other from being wiped & PTOs. Whilst the UK is more ONE oriented and France, Germany and Portugal (maybe Russia will join too soon) are more EDEN oriented, we still are able to help each other out. The UK has fought against Slovakia for Germany and against Poland for France within the last fortnight for example. It isn't an alliance but more a mutual survival pact. As Terra slowly falls apart it may become more important, especially in Europe.
Loving how I didn't really follow the model for actually getting the job. Assuming that this is specifically for eBelgium, at least regarding details.
