Im back with the top 50 regions!

Day 1,248, 08:06 Published in Belgium Belgium by Sammy Tanghe

As Many of you know, I used to write some articles about what was going on in the world long time ago. These articles were in Dutch and were well appreciated by the public back then. After my presidency I took a 2-clicker break (hang on … I’m still 2 clicking!) and I decided now to go back to journalism again. This time however I go in English and it will be about what I feel like – useless statistics, Belgian problems, the TERRA/EDEn vs ONE conflict … I do what I want with it! Today, I felt like doing something silly: the top 50 regions of the world!

This is a one-time observation: people come and people go. So don’t shoot me if in the meantime suddenly 1000 people settled themselves in Brussels and made sure that city got to the top 25, I’ll be like meh.

50.Northern Taiwan (Taiwan)- 1150 inhabitants
Immediately also the highest ranked region that is neutral: Taiwan is not affiliated with any alliance and only has alliances with China and North Korea (of all nations?). Taipei, the RL capital of Taiwan also lies in Northern Taiwan.

Taipei, not a very tranquil city

49.Florida (USA/Canada)- 1178 inhabitants
Once a fortress that never could be taken, this old capital of the USA is recently taken by the Canadians for some extra firepower in the land swapping, and many Americans didn’t felt like being ruled by Canooks. Many have left the region for other USA territories, making this place a lot emptier.

48.Attica (Greece) – 1360 inhabitants
In the fair place Attica lies Athens, the glorious city of the Greeks. Seems like many liked the place.

47.Svealand (Sweden) – 1405 inhabitants
The only Swedish region that made it to the top 50, this shows how much Sweden has been weakened, being once a powerful and vastly populated empire (long before my time though). A 47th place, this while Sweden currently is a country with quite some non-original regions conquered.

46.Bejing (China) – 1474 inhabitants
The most populated region of mainland Asia, this place serves as the capital of the only country at this moment that has access to all 10 resources. Being the only superpower in mainland Asia is something useful, I guess.

45.Western Transdanubia (Hungary) – 1566 inhabitants
The Hungarians once ruled the globe and the top 5 of most populated countries, but today they only have 2 regions in the top 50 of most populated regions, with this place on number 45.

The country side along the Danube doesn't feel that populated ...

44.South Carolina (USA) – 1604 inhabitants
This region is a newcomer, I’d say, a region that only recently has become filled with immigrants and newborns. Don’t ask me why all of the sudden everyone wants to live in the city of Columbia.

43.London (UK) – 1625 inhabitants
The British have put all their population in the suburbs of London, in the spirit of the good old fortress strategy. This has had as result that till this day, London is the only European region that has never ever been conquered or taken by another country. Challenge accepted, lads?

42.Central Croatia (Croatia) – 1649 inhabitants
The Real Life capital of Croatia once housed the major part of the population of proud Croatia. With the recent conquest by Serbia and rebellion that followed, many have fled to North Dalmatia, but still this remains a big region.

41.Sumatra (Indonesia) – 1676 inhabitants
The Indonesian oil island is also the only Indonesian region that has ever been conquered, notably by the USA. Despite that stain on the island’s reputation, it remains the second most populated place in Indonesia.

40.Saarland (Germany) – 1687 inhabitants
The Germans have with their natural efficiency transported the major part of their people to the strategic location called Saarlan😛 bordering only the infamous Rhineland Palatinate and their French neighbours from Lorraine. This capital thus stands as Germany’s most reliable region.

It is also a chill place for a holiday, that's why they stay probably

39.New York (USA) – 1765 inhabitants
The Big Apple has recently risen as the 3th population center in the USA, next to California and Florida, and with the recent occupation of the last one, it has now become the most populated region of the East Coast.

38.Central Greece (Greece) – 1856 inhabitants
In the old times, Central Greece was one of the few High Iron regions in Europe, and thus became one of the most important Greek regions, if not the most important one. The region is now a mere Iron region like Peloponnese, but the people who have made this place great, have stayed.

37.Center West of Brazil (Brazil/Poland) – 1911 inhabitants
Despite being the region wih the Real Life capital, this is the least populated region in Brazil. That it does make it to position 37 in this ranking, says a lot about the Brazilian population and the amount of regions in which they can spread their population. Currently occupied by Poland.

35.Aegean Coast of Turkey (Turkey) – 1924 inhabitants
Sharing the 35th spot with Madrid, the western coast of Turkey is filled with proud Turks luring westwards to Greece and beyond. This territory is often in the front lines between Turkey and Greece and that makes the locals the more resilient against Greek assaults.

35.Madrid (Spain) – 1924 inhabitants
Together with their associated partners from the Turkish Aegean Coast, the people of Madrid share the 35th spot. This city is the real life capital of Spain, but the capital ingame lies more to the north. Nonetheless, the Spanish royal city remains an important population hub.

Spanish castelos!

34.North East of Brazil (Brazil) – 1942 inhabitants
The fishermen of the North East of Brazil can be proud upon being the most populated fish region of the Western Hemisphere – a glorious title if you’d ask me.

33.North Dalmatia (Croatia) – 1964 inhabitants
Being the first region to be liberated from the recent Serbian conquest, North Dalmatia managed to become the most populated Croatian region quite fast. It now has become a worthy capital for the Croatian people.

32.Paris Isle de France (France/Spain) – 1979 inhabitants
Paris was not only the capital of France, it was also France’s most populated region and their fortress of the north, and on top of that, TERRA’s most populated region in Europe. It then comes as no surprise that the Spanish still keep this region occupied.

31.Parana and Santa Catarina (Brazil) – 1991 inhabitants
This Brazilian iron hub is the 4th most populated region of Brazil – quite a task, even if your original territories only number 6 in total. This region is currently under assault by the Polish legionnairs.

30.Mazuria (Poland) – 2034 inhabitants
On position number 30 the first Polish region - this says a lot about the Polish population that their least inhabited original territory beats almost every region in Western Europe, Far Asia and Africa. It is also the first region in our list that beats the 2k mark.

The region contains lakes ... huge lakes

29.Moscow and Central Russia (Russia) – 2037 inhabitants
From the vast Russian population, the majority lives in Moscow, the old capital. Although the capital now lies in Far Eastern Russia, Moscow will still remain the most difficult place to win elections in Russia.

28.North of Brazil (Brazil/Poland) – 2107 inhabitants
In the old days North of Brazil used to be very important an important High Iron region but now however, despite his current status as the most populated rubber region (being the only top 50 rubber region), it has lost a lot of glamour, and the recent Polish occupation won’t make it more attractable.

27.Rio Grande do Sul (Brazil) – 2157 inhabitants
Another Brazilian region reaching a position in this infamous list. What more can I say?

26.Macedonia (Greece) – 2422 inhabitants
The region with the same name as the neighbouring country, Macedonia is mostly populated these days either by Greek nationalists claiming the Macedonian name or Macedonians from FYROM claiming the region their own. It gets them on spot number 24.

25.Muntenia (Romania/Hungary) – 2520 inhabitants
The Romanian old capital has recently been conquered by the troops from Hungary, who finally could boast themselves having beaten their old foes. Although there may be a small population flight now, the region remains the most populated oil region worldwide.

The old presidential palace in Bucharest, it used to have a Romanian flag

24.Pomerania (Poland) – 2521 inhabitants
This Polish coastal region has the honour of being the most populated fish region in the entire globe. It also has the less honourable title of being the last Polish region being conquered ever, this being done by Russia when they freed Berlin almost a year ago.

23.California (USA) – 2563 inhabitants
Today the region in Northern America with the most dense population, California was always an important population hub. With the recent fall of Florida, it is certain that California will play the role of American capital with glamour.

22.Central Anatolia (Turkey) – 2735 inhabitants
On the central plains of Anatolia linger a large amount of Turkish craftsmen and soldiers ready to serve their country. The RL capital of Ankara probably has attracted quite some of these men, just like the central position of this place.

21.Marmara (Turkey) – 2745 inhabitants
The infamous city of Istanbul has attracted a large number of proud Turks ready to protect their country against the neighbouring Bulgarians and Greek. Marmara has always been an important Turkish population hub, even before the Turkish Babyboom, and will probably remain that for ever.

20.Plovdiv (Bulgaria) – 3023 inhabitants
The Bulgarian top regions have now arrived in the top 50, and we start with Plovdiv, a region which has breached the 3k mark. The region is now under siege by the Macedonians, so a lot could still happen to this place.

Plovdiv Airport, quite busy these days

19.Black Sea Coast of Turkey (Turkey) – 3027 inhabitants
Rebel Turks have freed their northern coasts as first during their latest insurgence and thus the shores around the city of Samsun are filled with Turks who choose their new capital as the ideal place to live, work and fight. One would wonder if the deer still have enough place to roam.

18.Pampas (Argentina) – 3235 inhabitants
The Argentineans have gathered the majority of their population on the wide pampas, where the Real Life capital Buenos Aires shines. Despite not being the ingame capital, it remains the second largest TERRA population hub.

17.Asturias (Spain) – 3393 inhabitants
The glorious region of Asturias, the iron mine of EDEN in a longtime ago glorious past. After the temporary occupation of Madrid by the Brazilians a long time ago, the capital has shifted towards this mining region, and it has currently the honour of being the largest West European region.

16.Sumadija (Serbia) – 3399 inhabitants
You missed the Serbs, didn’t you? Well, here they are! They have really gathered their entire population as much as possible in 3 regions, one of them being Sumadija, which is their capital ingame as well, because it got liberated as one of the first regions from a Croatian conquest a long time ago.

15.Varna (Bulgaria) – 3710 inhabitants
This Bulgarian coastal region is not really renown for anything. But well, it still has almost ten times the entire population of Belgium. What else can we say? Ow yeah, it has beaches!

On the beach in Varna ...

14.Western Macedonia (FYROM) – 3749 inhabitants
The last nationality that we hadn’t mentioned yet. Macedonia had the advantage that they only had 3 regions to spread their population into. This has made sure that all three of their original territories are in the top 15 of this list, with Western Macedonia as least populated region.

13.Mazovia (Poland) – 3881 inhabitants
Mazovia is, despite housing the city of Warsaw, only the 4th most populated region of the Polish empire.

12.Sofia (Bulgaria/FYROM) – 3906 inhabitants
Sofia is a region about which there is a lot to tell. It used to be the Bulgarian capital, but now it is occupied by the Macedonians, which made it the largest region occupied by another nation. And it is currently the most populated iron region, another title no one actually cares about.

11.Ruse (Bulgaria) – 3915 inhabitants
The current capital of Bulgaria is Ruse these days, since it was the first region to be liberated after the combined Serbian-Macedonian-Hungarian attach on the Bulgarian home regions. This has made it the most populated region of Bulgaria these days and also the most populated EDEN region in the world!

10.Eastern Macedonia (FYROM) – 3965 inhabitants
We’re starting with the top 10 now, and the second least inhabited original territory of Macedonia comes in as tenth. Makes you wonder. The Macedonians have thus 2 regions in the top 10, showing the population strength of the country.

A glorious statue in Struminca, Eastern Macedonia

9.Little Poland (Poland) – 4128 inhabitants
Krakow, the current ingame capital of Poland, lies here in Little Poland, a proud region and Poland’s only region bordering Ukraine. It is also the most populated Deer region and in fact one of the four only Deer regions that has made it to this top 50. And it has breached the 4k mark, which is nice.

8.Vojvodina (Serbia) – 4454 inhabitants
Serbia’s most northern region used to be their High Grain region, which had as consequence that it was their most important original territory. The grain has left in the meantime, but the people that remained there to repel Croatian attacks have stayed.

7.Silesia (Poland) – 4707 inhabitants
The second largest Polish region has the honour of having another title: being the largest saltpeter region in the world. It was not that hard to get though, since the only other top 50 region with Saltpeter was number 22 Central Anatolia.

6.Java (Indonesia) – 4786 inhabitants
The most populated region of entire Asia and the most populated cow region in the entire globe. This capital region has never been conquered ever and thus together with London, Singapore City and Kanto the only region that has never lost his capital status ever.

5.Central Hungary (Hungary) – 5274 inhabitants
On the 5th spot and breaching the 5k mark, the most populated region of Hungary. Containing the capital of Budapest, it is the natural leading region of Hungary and in fact the most populated region containing both the Real Life and Ingame capital.

The Parliament of Budapest and Hungary

4.Povardarie (FYROM) - 5295 inhabitants
Povardarie used to be the Macedonian capital, containing the city of Skopje, but that title has been stolen by Eastern Macedonia. But it still holds (barely, with Central Hungary just behind him) the title of most populated aluminium region, a title many deem very precious. *cough*

3.South East of Brazil (Brazil) – 5969 inhabitants
Most populated region of Brazil, most populated region of the Western Hemisphere, most populated region of the Southern Hemisphere and most populated region of TERRA. The people of São Paulo can build a festival in honour of those titles!

2.Great Poland (Poland) – 7079 inhabitants
The name says it already: Great(est of) Poland. The most populated region of the Polish empire can call itself the largest Grain region and has leagues advantages over the third largest region. But it is not number one, because that is:

1.Belgrade (Serbia) – 7419 inhabitants
Belgrade, the old capital of Serbia, can boast itself on being the biggest region of all regions across the entire globe. This fruit region has still more inhabitants then the four largest regions of the USA together (including occupied Florida). This is something only achieved thanks to the Serbian fortress build up around Belgrade and the resilience of the Serbs who keep playing this game.

Nationalistic parties in Belgrade, they rock!

Enjoy, lads and till next time!
