The Turn of the Tide in the Balkans
written by Saša Broz

Following the events of Operation Liberty on day 1,234 described earlier, we were left asking if this was a 'one off'? An answer to this can now be given and it must be a resounding NO!

Opening of the Day 1,235: Resistance War in Yorkshire & Humberside

Yorkshire & Humberside, eUK

As the 5 victories of Operation Liberty sunk into the eSerbia Command, food in Balkans rocketed in price. Day 1,235 had appeared to start badly for mysterious planners of the Liberty success with an early RW opened in eSerbian occupied Yorkshire and the loss of all eRomanian regions. An eSerbian source confirmed that with eRomania removed from the map the 'eCroat riff raff' will not last long.

Avatar of zdlemmy, eCroatian Minister of Defence

On the ground in eCroatia there was an eery silence in all channels but I managed to find eCroatia MoD zdlemmy, who predicted that "the Yorkshire RW would end around 14:00 erep time, according to the plan". As he had predicted the early Yorkshire was soon over 14:12 precisely and all around me soldiers were arming, tense and silent.

Afternoon of the Day 1,235: Resistance Wars All Over the Balkans

Lika and Gorski Kotar, eCroatia; Brčko Distrikt, eBosnia and Herzegovina; Vidin, eBulgaria; Maramures, eRomania

What transpired was nothing short of an e-miracle. At precisely 14:29 erep time 5 new RWs opened in: Brcko (eBosnia), Lika (eCroatia), Vidin (eBulgaria), Maramures (eRomania) and Yorkshire (eUK), the last remaining eSerbia stronghold in eUK in what was called Operation Roman. Senior sources within eRomania sai😛 "Our orders are to fight for eCroatia, our RW is a drain". Later eAustria would join with an RW in eHungarian held region Burgenland.

Burgenland, eAustria

From later investigations we can see that Brcko and Lika RWs were opened by an eCanadian; the mysterious SaraD, the second RW in Yorkshire by eUSA citizen, and Vidin and Maramures RWs by citizens of their own nations. This proves that while Operation Liberty may have been an act of 'collective opportunism', Operation Roman was organised at an international level.

Day 1,236: Resistance Wars Victory

As all battles reached 6-0, I heard orders were given for all eRomanians fighting in eCroatia to return home and concentrate on their battle. This was to prove wise for the allies as it concentrated One forces on Maramures which was not expected to be won. As the battles ended and the result came in - victory after victory, eCroatian and eBulgarian troops flooded to eRomania to successful return the 3rd ranked nation back to the map. Later even eAustria was able to successfuly liberate Burgenland. The results of Operation Roman then were 6 liberated regions, all 8-0 battles. Following on from the events of Operation Liberty, this made 11 regions liberated within 3 days.

Istria and Kvarner, eCroatia and West Srpska Republic, eBosnia and Herzegovina

Day 1,237: More Freedom for eCroatia and eBosnia and Herzegovina

Yesterday (Day 1237) saw more successes with the liberation of Istria and Kvarner (eCroatia) and West Srpska Republic (eBosnia) after first drain attacks. This makes 13 regions liberated in 4-5 days.

Who is Sara from eCanada?

I went in search of the mysterious eCanadian Sara who had opened 2 of the Operation RWs. Fortunately, I found her in the eCanada channel and asked her a few questions.

Q: are you acting for eCanada by opening these RWs?
A: What RWs?
Q: In the Balkans...
She declined to reply.

Additionally, a player StipoHR commented that he had "RL health issues and hadn't been online".

SomeONE is Overstretche😛 New EDEN/Terra Strategy

There can be no doubt now that eSerbia and eHungary face a resurgent and coordinated strategic problem in the area. As they seemingly put down eBulgaria they cannot maintain their hold on their old enemies. The theory of 'overstretch' would appear to be correct and with 3 foes back on map a new and a resurgent strategy the EDEN/Terra forces appear to have the upper hand.

Yours,
Saša Broz
