Bittersweet eRepublik Energy Bar

The other day I earned higher military rank (Lt Colonel) so I also got an energy bar as a reword. Unless you are a very young player, with relatively fast promotion to higher ranks, and many missions to accomplish, you won't see Energy bars very often.

What are the other ways for getting the energy bar?

Basically, there are two ways of getting it. Through ranking up your military skill and through special missions. There are three missions which reword a player also by energy bar.

Mission 13: Find El Dorado - Now or Never
Requirements
Defeat 30 enemies. (Unlock cost - 10 gold)
Defeat enemies in 3 different battles in South America's original regions. (Unlock cost - 10 gold)
Have 10 Gold in your account.
Rewards
+30 strength
Energy bar

Mission 15: True Mercenary
Requirements
Defeat enemies for 4 different countries. (Unlock cost - 10 gold)
Defeat 40 enemies. (Unlock cost - 10 gold)
Get the Battle Hero Medal. (Unlock cost - 20 gold)
Rewards
Energy bar
+2000 military rank points

Mission 27: Special Bonus Health
(Note: This mission was only available between Day 1,225 to Day 1,228.)
Requirements
Boost one work session by at least 170% (Unlock: 9 Gold)
Eat food in order to recover 500 health, in one single eRepublik day (Unlock: 49 Gold)
Have less than 25 health (Unlock: 9 Gold)
Rewards
+15 Strength
+1 Energy Bar

As Mission 27: Special Bonus Health is not available any more, and Mission 15: True Mercenary is almost unreachable for an ordinary player, because of Battle Hero requirement, it seems as the only mission providing an energy bar is Mission 13: Find El Dorado - Now or Never.

What is Bitter and What is Sweet About an Energy Bar?

Well, the bitter thing about this Energy bar is the limitation that you can't use it as any other ordinary item. Sometimes it can spoil your appetite. You can not eat if for desert. You can not eat it always after lunch. It's because when you get it, you can not consume any other food first. You have to consume Energy bar before any other food available in your storage inventory.

You also can't save it for later like you can save your brand new weapons, by putting it on market (and offering it for unreasonably high price), when you go fighting. No, Energy bars are not tradeable, either. You also can't send it to your friend or to your org.

In best case, you can save your energy bar for breakfast next day. Unfortunately, that could also mean that you'll skip your supper.

However, the sweet thing about it is that it can recover your health back to 100 points instantly when you press eat button with this treat on it. Also, it doesn't count to your 300 (500) health limit per day. So, prepare yourself well before you get it and use it wisely.

How Much Is It worth?

If you compare Energy bar to ordinary food, you could calculate how much it's worth. In the worst case, if you just haven't been paying attention and were a few gold short when completing Mission 13: Find El Dorado - Now or Never, it could almost just the same be never, than messing this up now. So, please, don't eat up your food not even close to 100 health points if you are preparing to complete any of the missions 13, 15 or 27. Also, if you are approaching to the magic military rank point limit, be careful to find yourself on the lowest possible point of your health status in the moment when you earn higher military rank and your new Energy bar.


Eat an energy bar. Continue?

If your daily income covers only food for 300 health points or less (99 EGP, or 0.414 Gold per day) than we could summarize how much an Energy bar would be worth to you on the open market in the worst case, in the best case and in my case:

Minimaly
1 health point = 0.66*1 = 0.66 EGP=0.003 Gold.

Maximally
100 health points = 0.66*50 = 33 EGP = 0.138 Gold).

In reality
91 health points = 0.66 EGP * round(91/2) = 0.66*46 = 30.36 EGP.

According to todays buying currency rate for gold (1 Gold = 239 EGP!!!), that would be 0.127 Gold.

BTW. have you noticed how most of the currency rates for buying gold have gone up through the magical limit of 200 local currency per gold, which makes issuing local currencies worth it (0.05 gold per local currency)?

If your daily income covers food for 300 health points or more, than an Energy Bar would be more like a health pack to you and it could be worth up to 10*0.5=5 gold.

Of course, as demand and supply determine the price, its price would probably be lower than its equivalent in Health packs, but higher than its equivalent in food, as not many Energy bars are available right now.

Being sweet tooth myself, this gives me an idea - wouldn't it be great if you could really eat an Energy bar and taste it?

And of course with 100 health points restoration instant codes! Only 0,99 Eur. Wouldn't that be great eRepublik promotion, followed by a great baby boom or what? Plus increased income for Admins, don't you think?
