Interview with Paul Proteus, Libertarian Extraordinaire!

Day 1,154, 12:53 Published in USA USA by Onishi

I had the privilege or interviewing Paul Proteus the other day. Please send him a friend request and subscribe to his paper!

Paul is one of the most interesting current players in my book. He's not the most well known of people, but his consistently good posts on the
forum
and his strong work ethic with the Libertarian Party JOIN THE LIBS, show where his true strengths lie.

I've been a friend with Paul for a couple of months now, the first time I recall talking to him was during my time as Frost's Grand Inquisitor, when he desperately wanted to be on the list, and I added every member of the Libertarian party except him. Fun times. Since then, we've gotten to know and admire each other on IRC. Anyway, enough about me, turns out he's got some pretty interesting opinions on things. USA, I present to you...

PAUL PROTEUS

Hey Paul Proteus, how are you?

Great, and surprised at the difficult question.

Tell us a bit about yourself, how long are you playing, what have you done with yourself up to this point?

I was eBorn about a year ago in the super relevant nation of eSwitzerland, Pretty much I worked in politics there, even becoming President, but then all of my friends sort of died there, so I decided to come to the eUS...

So lets leap right into it, where do you stand on the Libertarians Party President election fiasco?

Ah, I hate to call it a fiasco....maybe a snafu...or maybe fiasco is right. Sam was and is, in my opinion, a very awesome player, he was probably the best satirist in the game, and I am not planning on doing much more than speculate on how his PP term would have ended up...Obviously though, he sort of ran a...ermm controversial campaign...

So I'll just leave you hanging after saying pretty much nothing, because I don't feel like telling you who I voted for

Have you any political ambitions of your own in the near future?

Like the average American I enjoy letting small bits of power go to my head (err, was that out loud?), but as long as I have something to do that isn't boring me, I'm good. So, no specifics, just to do something, and then when that gets boring, something else.

Err, that won't sound good on my resume, I WANT TO BE THE LEADER OF THE KNOWN WORLD!

How have you found Haliman's Presidency so far?

I haven't been in the eUS long enough to properly critique any of the glorious dict....presidents, but just generally, in my opinion, Haliman has been a good president, we still have yet to see what happens later in his term, which will probably end up being more important, like how PanAm turns out in the end. But in history, his biggest accomplishment will always be his bringing back of the Department of Fun.

What do you think the greatest challenges are facing the eUS today? If you hypothetically became our President, what would you do about them?

Well, ignoring the hypothetical, some of the eUSA's biggest problems are our unceasing awesomeness...right, challenges, I'll skip the obvious like the economy and constant changes by Admins, because it would be far too boring to talk about that, but one of our biggest problems is our current lack of enthusiasm, about everything, we can't succeed as a country.

If people aren't proud to be an eAmerican, also: If I was president I would probably resign atm, ruining your hypothetical, so ha!

What would you say sparked off your recent status as an "up and coming player", and where do you plan on taking it? Who do you aspire to?

To be honest, I didn't really think about it until you asked that question, I plan on using this up and coming status to one day earn the achievement up and came. And I can't see myself as any of the great people in this country, not sure why.

If you weren't a Libertarian, what party would you be?

I joined the Libertarians because I had some friends there and CRoy asked me too when I was finishing my term, if I left I'd probably join the UIP because I know some pretty cool guys there (Hey Dan Heylin, can you hear me? I'm on...tv), luckily though, this is a hypothetical, and I don't have to leave the Libs.

What do you think of the current atmosphere on the US Forums, and how do you compare if to the old one?

Umm...I wasn't around very long with the old one, but the Nnw one is 50000x better than the "Sorry, we have no forum, we're transferring to a new one" Forum we had for a while.

Are you secretly a member of chickensguise' Mafia, and if so, who's on the hit list?

No, but looking at his old avvy, I'd have to say: Himself.

Would you consider yourself to be addicted to eRepublik, and if so, what would make you leave? RL or in-game.

Well, Like all addicts I'm in the first stage, denial, so no, definitely not addicted, what would make me leave? Maybe if I sat on and destroyed my computer horribly and lost all of my money...The admin changes usually leave me intrigued as to why, I don't see myself leaving because of them, then again, i don't own a company, so yeah.

Who would you consider to have been the most influential player for you?

Eleriel, he was Swiss but he got me into Politics really and made me his Vice President...He's also dead now

What was your proudest moment in eRepublik?

Thats tough, really tough... Can we come back to this lol. Ah, I know! Getting interviewed right NOW, obviously very recent events have a bit of a bias in my min

Anything you're ashamed of?

Yes, being part of a force that helped kill the Swiss Brain Slug Party, they were all Shaolins, but they were funny, and now we have Serbian PTOers in eSwitzerland, not as funny...I'm also ashamed of wasting my interview by talking about irrelevant Swiss stuff.

Any final words? Anything you've always wanted to say to America but never had enough balls to until now?

America, you leave me speechless, literally, I need more ideas for articles, since I've gotten here my articles have sucked, give me something to write about

Thanks very much!

No, thank you, that interview was ALMOST as much fun as it is to vote and sub to the Department of Fun!
