CP Update

Hello eIreland,
I'm writing to you at another turbulent time in eIreland. Our CP has stepped down due to an issue that came up and he has know handed over the presidency to myself. Tbh I still hope to see him changing his mind and steps back in as CP.
In the mean time,
I will look to serve this nation as I always have, with honor, pride and determination. I love this nation and wouldn't make any choice that me or my many advisers believe would hurt Ireland.
So my priorities for now is to get the cabinet together and stand building on what myself and CT had dreamed for Ireland. I will be on IRC if anyone wishes to ask me and anything, im always available to the public. At the moment there is a proposal currently ongoing which depending on which way it goes ill either be CP or wont. I'm going to be working with the Cabinet up until then and it can then be taken over from then.
Id like to say unlucky to my friend CelticTiger211, he was a legend for eIreland and all allied nations. His knowledge, determination and passion for the game and eIreland was near unmatched, the man also did great work for Ireland in Eden.
***War Ongoing - We have seen another person starting a RW in the SE, what can I say they really wanna see Ireland free again. What they dont understand is we have an agreement with the USA and for this reason all soldiers are asked to avoid the battle and help Croatia. Croatia needs our support more than the USA. Croatia Battle ***

The last election was not really a democratic election. You need at least two running candidates. This makes things worse. I think everyone is forgetting the possibility that the last democratically elected president might be a good candidate for running the country also.

I'm sure no one is forgetting, ekane. The Constitution allows a CP to hand over duties to another if he wishes, but the Dail still has absolute authority on game mechanisms - so either way, everything is democratic by our laws.

There are enough No votes on the impeachment against CT that the proposal cannot pass. Democratically elected by the people of Ireland, endorsed by the democratically elected Congress of Ireland.
The sitting President, CT, has every right constitutionally to delegate any and all of his own duties to whomever he sees fit.

CT was elected democratically, Marcus is more than qualified to be CP, it's in the Constitution. Stop the nonsense and let's move the **** on.

Could you please share the related clause of Constitution that 'giving CP every right to delegate his duties to whomever he sees fit'?

The election was a sad joke. The failed election was not the fault of CT though. With only one candidate there where no choice, hence no way for the people of expressing their will, hence not a democratic election.
That said, done is done, and we need to go forward.
Knowing ireland, I see the latest farce as potentially dividing the country further though. If this is going to be the case I simply want to point out that our latest PC did a decent job. He was also an elected PC.
If everyone accept Marcus and no one calls him usurpator, fine. But if we are going to start with the same old tradition, the latest PC is an option few will argue against.
Sorry if I was unclear about this. I just felt that the obvious was overlooked.
We need to get an online petition set up so we can bring it to the admins and get them to wipe eIreland off the map for good (North and South). This will help free up time for everyones RL duties and it means we can all walk away from this crappy game for good together.o7.
E-Kane it says nowhere in the constitution about the last CP being given the role. CT himself made me his successor and he was democratically chosen. You ran against him, nobody else chose to run so the people clearly chose him as he did get 108 votes.
Nope, I did not run against him. I told people not to vote on me since I had not voluntarily entered the election. Hence it was a farce of democracy, and hence it was not CTs fault for being so.
Lets keep to the facts and lets not bicker. If people will accept you and there will be calm and quite, fine. But if there is going to be a racket, in our true tradition, there is another option availably also.
Whatever keeps the calm is fine.
I don't really have a problem with this. Marcus was the best person possible IMO for CT to delegate this responsibility to and I wish him luck.
I just find it a little mysterious. We don't really know why he did this and why he couldn't have come on for a short time to explain it. But if it's a very serious issue that prohibits him doing that, then fair enough.

e-kane, no matter what you say, YOU did run in this election, intentionally or not. People DID have a choice and if they opposed CT they could clearly express their will by voting for YOU, but they chose CT.
Nothing you are saying has any relevance to GAME MECHANICS and that is why this country fails so bad. Too many throwing around fancy shmancy words like "Democracy" when it suits them instead of learning the game mechanics and playing the damn GAME. Every President who has ever been elected in this game, has been elected by the mechanics of the game, i.e. by being the candidate with the most votes. Nobody, absolutely nobody can argue with that.
and lol @ you sayin that the previous CP should be the one to take the role and that it is the OBVIOUS choice. lolno it isn't. 5 times President Patton delegated ALL of his duties to his VP back in May. Same thing is happening here so to even use the word usurpator is ridiculous.
1- CelticTiger211 is our President, elected by the mechanics of the game democratically.
2- He has delegated his duties to his VP(standard practice in such a situation)
3- An impeachment vote started by one of his opponents failed miserably. The "link to discussion" link in the impeachment proposal was a direct link to the article where CT said he was handing his duties over to Marcus.

Celtic is well within his constitutional rights to delegate entire responsibility to marcus. Had congress found this to be not in the interests of the country, he would have been impeached. Although the situation is unfortunate we have to look on the bright side and say that in this case our system is well prepared to deal with it. Congress does not have full responsibility over all game mechanics, they have it over the mechanics assigned to them by the game, seanan 🙂

I love the fact that a constitution which was supposed to align our governing process more closely (possibly exactly) with game mechanics has resulted in a complete disregard for them and the appointment of someone not even running for election ingame to the office of Supreme Dictator... oh I mean President of all things not assigned to the Dáíl or President ingame.

Sean when I have ever acted like a Dictator, ive always been there for people ive served above or alongside. This is how this played out, if e-kane didn't run I said to a number of people in the supply room a couple of days ago id have ran to make it more legit. Same thing would have happened, id be CP, we'd have lost CT and id be asking as I always do for all Irish people to weighin and help Ireland.
Marcus that wasn't meant to be a dig at you but the system under which we operate.
We were supposed to have a constitution that respected game mechanics, instead we've got a President that cannot actually fulfill the ingame functions of a President without a breach of the games terms & conditions. Instead of allowing the baton to fall to the next in line in terms of game mechanics we seem to be accepting election by proxy.
Can I point out something? Since in no way can we hold another election for CP until next month we have no choice but to deal with things the way they are. Undemocratic, dictator blah blah blah. I don't believe Marcus is any of those things but that is not the point. The game allows for a President and he resigned. So Marcus as VP ( while not in game mechanics ) is the new Pres. Move on and play the game. I for one will support Marcus as should we all. It is not an enviable position he is in and needs the full support of the nation. If someone has an issue then run next month and do it the way you want to.

But I still don't see how the button-pressing-functions can be shared/carried out, without either CT playing (but not) or Marcus "multying" (but not), and therefore potentially compromising his own citizen a/c in the process.
How's that gonna happen? Srsly, I don't see it?

People, chillax, there will be no logging into other peoples accounts.
CT will be contacted when he is needed. His cabinet is doing what every cabinet has always done, running the country. We have had many terms before when the cabinet did all the work and ministers actually instructed a CP when to push buttons. In fact, Connells term was arguably the best term of them all and he wasn't even around at all! This will be no different.
