Education Today Update: Training and Ranks

Day 1,083, 06:52 Published in USA USA by Department of Citizen Affairs

Consider this a new "series" in the DoE, for issues stuck in an awkward limbo between "quiet article update" and "full-blown guide article". The admin recently made a change (albeit a haphazard one) to training that is worth a short article on the subject.

What's Changed?

1. Unit skills and Training
Unit skills are abolished, unit types are not though. This simply means you train without picking a unit, much like you do with working. Training is constant now, and is not adversely affected by low health. When you go to buy a weapon, you can buy whatever is cheapest. Soon enough, the market's prices should equalize for all 4 unit types.

2. Military ranks
There are a plethora of new military ranks, you've probably already been "demoted" from this change. All the Field Marshals are now Lieutenant Colonels, and all of the ranks now have "stars" on the end like Field Marshals used to have. You can see the full list from the admin here.

3. Super Soldier medals
Super Soldier medals are now being awarded again for every 250 strength you get. If you got the equivalent of 250 strength in v2 when Super Soldier medals were deactivated, you got one or several maps thrown into your box yesterday. Unlike in v1, Super Soldier medals are easy to train up to for the time being. This brings us to the next subject...

OBSOLETE: Training Boosters

This idea is obsolete now that Super Soldier medals have been increased to 250 points per medal instead of 100 points, due to greed and not because of multis. The information is historical and should not be used. Sorry, everyone.

Some of our resident experts have deduced that for the first time since forever, training boosters are now profitable to use. The .19 gold booster will get your strength up 50% faster than normal, and you won't lose a dime from it as long as you have 2.66 gold available for capital.

Boot Camp Guy celebrates his rise to usefulness curses at his continued unprofitability.

Here's the long and short of it, you'll get 7.5 strength everytime you train with the .19 gold booster. At 7.5/day, you'll get 105 strength in 14 days, enough for a Super Soldier medal. The resulting treasure map will net you between 4 and 6 gold, outweighing the 2.66 gold cost to get there. This way, you can be as strong as any great with blinding speed and no personal cost to you. If you can sucker two of your friends into registering with your referral link, you can get there even faster with an extra +20% added on for free.

(Naturally, there is a small risk in that the admin may change it again soon. Man, I sure did call this one, didn't I?)

That's all for today's episode. Super Soldier is always awarded in 250 point increments, and there have been reports (mainly myself) of not getting a map at some increments. Ticket admin if it happens to you and you'll get your map when they see it. Next up: New Player FAQ, look out for it within 2 days. 😁
