Time to Go Presidential: Connecting eJapan’s Past and Future
Akki
I would like to announce that I will be running for the office of President to help guide eJapan into a right direction. My main focus will be the rebuilding of eJapan and its player bases while striving to make a transition from the current sorry state of this nation to successful one.
eJapan is in a dark time right now. Periods of political instability and anarchy had occurred this month due to the incompetence of leadership. Japan is ageing, both in real life and in erepublik. Our nation has had wonderful leaders in the past whom our nation had successfully been guided in the most difficult situations. However, in past few months, the gap in experience grew; as old leaders retired, new inexperienced ones took over leadership positions. This was a disaster for eJapan as many are now aware. Our government imploded as the inexperienced President went mad. Neither cabinet members nor vice president was able to step in and turn eJapan into right direction. Current government is in better shape, but still lacks the power necessary to turn our nation around from devastation. Major change is needed in order to make us thrive in the eWorld.
One of the main goals of my Administration, if elected, will be to connect the past with the future. Like a Möbius band, our past and our future should have no boundaries. Rather, it should be integrated so there is neither an end to our past nor a future. I will try to bring back some of the experienced players to help lead our nation while bringing in newer generation of players to work together with them to help them understand eJapan and the game mechanics, and providing experiences in leadership in general. Players come and go; however, their ideas and skills can be passed down to the new generation for our community. One of the major problem to eJapan in the recent days have been the absent of the well experienced and active leadership. I plan to fix this immediately and help raise new leaders for the future.
Second goal will be very straight forwar
😛to rebuild eJapan after it had been destroyed by the Impeached President Sugawara. The entire governmental system of eJapan was destroyed and it will take some time, dedication, and leadership to solve this problem. I hope make the cabinet system of eJapan more active and with greater leadership while trying to make a new way of integrating newer players into smaller leadership role for experience. Congress must also be mobilized to take greater role in Governance to avoid future instability. The position of Speaker of the Congress and Minister of Security is only a small step towards this ultimate goal. Most presidents only last 2 to 3 months in office; Congressmen however, serves anywhere from 1 to 12 months in eJapan. It only makes since to mobilize congress to try to speed up the rebuilding and making it harder for future generations to seriously damage eJapan by integrating the Congress and the President more.
Third goal is to increase communication between the citizens of eJapan and the government of eJapan. Currently, communication is still poor; many people in eJapan are secluded in small communities. The bipolar partisan politics had always been a strong characteristic of eJapan. There is a problem waiting to be solved by us. Integration of new citizens into the government of eJapan is a must; the population must have basic erepublik education to understand different aspect of games and the mechanics. Some people are overwhelmed by erepublik, but it is really simple if you can get some help. Government programs will be improved to connect with people and to give opportunity for one on one communication (when possible). Forum and IRC are nice place to have group communication, but there are people who are uncomfortable to just jump into the group when they first join. This is time to reach out to them.
Dearest to my heart is the domestic issues for eJapan. While I have had tremendous experience in foreign relationship in the past, it gives me the most pleasure when eJapan matures and our community tackles domestic issues united. As a long time citizen of eJapan, I have greatest attachment to eJapan and its society. My entire elife was spent in eJapan and it will continue to be so. We will tackle eJapan’s problems and make policies that will benefit us in the future. Before we start looking out for other countries, we must first be able to look out ourselves. This is only logical way to make our nation a better place for us all.
This does not mean, nevertheless, that we will go into isolation; no, that will be terrible idea. Instead, we, as a community, will strive to increase our ties with other nations; integrate people from different backgrounds; and to enrich eJapan’s community. Isolated community can only accomplish little. However, an open community will accomplish far more as more unique ideas will flow in. I hope to strengthen eJapan’s foreign relationship and fully support the new recruitment effort that is trying to bring new people into eJapan. Those new immigrants could add to our nation and help build this nation in the future.
This article only listed some of the outline of the focus of my administration for the sake of keeping this article from becoming too long. More information will follow this article. We will achieve more than the ones I listed. However, those three goals will be the main focal point of my administration if elected.
We, as a community, have a long journey ahead of us. What we are to be, we are now becoming. We become what we strive to become; we lose what we do not gain. It is citizens of eJapan that can change our nation. eJapan is currently in period of transition; it is us, the citizens of eJapan, who must ultimately decide the direction that our nation will follow in the near future.
We must continue our developments and our progresses that we worked very hard in the past to protect.
Thank you for your time.

First denied. Now time to sleep.
Looks like a good start. Some of the problems, especially inactivity, stem from things beyond the control of citizens, like the great v2 die-off. One of the major past criticisms against you was the idea, perceived or real, that important decisions were made behind closed doors as well as lack of information to the public. For example, articles highlighting issues during your previous CP terms in early 2009 were rare and your final term as MoF in 2009 ended with a strange sudden and unexplained change of the NBoJ gold-to-yen monetary market offer from 0.035 to 0.030 rate.
Also, what is your position on any 1) "mergers" and 2) the alliances Phoenix and Bro/Eden, particularly in regard to their future demands on eJapan?
Good luck, voted!
Surprise
good luck
good luck indeed...
Battle of Ladies(avatar)???
-How to read an article
First comment, then vote, at last read it
Good luck Akki!
good luck!
good luck akki , great article and i think you have my support for now 😃
Go away KITA. Nobody likes you
Ahahahahahahaha...
Despite your relative inactivity and absolute lack of communication (except for giving me the wrong last day to endorse CP), you ran for SOS Brigade's Party President, thus splitting the vote.
Shim, don't blame Akki for splitting the vote when you're just as much at fault for doing so. Also, you're one to talk about inactivity. You think just posting the occasional article and comment is all you need to do to be "active" in eJapan, when the forums and IRC are where you need to be to make your presence known.
Be that as it may... Akki, you have my vote.
I welcome the inclusion of a worthy opponent into the race.
Shim complains about Akki splitting the vote when Akki got more votes than her. Shim complains about Akki splitting the vote even though she has herself admitted that a unified vote would not have won the party. Shim complains about Akki giving her the wrong date to endorse CP, even though that information has been the same for over a year, and she didn't bother to look it up herself.
Shim complains about a lot of things, and none of them are legitimate.

Kita,
1) "mergers"
It will definitely be an "option" for eJapan though it will only be the last resort. First, we must try fixing this nation from within and by ourselves, and if all fails and we are on the edge of collapse, then it could be something we could consider.
2) the alliances Phoenix and Bro/Eden, particularly in regard to their future demands on eJapan?
I will work with allies we have first of course. better to work with someone who already have friendly relationship with you. I will try to reach ourside of Bro to try to try to expand our foreign relationship operation and continue the idea of Japanese Tourism to try to encourage further recruitment.
I shall bask in the glories of this presidency.
sounds good this isnt as bad of shape as when you first took over japan but its in a dismal shape and needs to be fixed someone with this experience and knowledge will be more than a benefit for us
Finaly a serious non lol-candidate.
I hope you will archieve what you promise and give more news and transparancy to the eJapanese.
Voted. I will withhold my vote during CP elections until the last minute, just in case PTO candidate(s) start making more and I need to funnel my vote into one of the top-running candidates.
Nonetheless, it would be a shame to not see you as CP next month, Akki. You've really come a long way (people calling you 'reasonable' is a major step up from where you were before! XD)
I must ask, what of eSouth Korea? Obviously this issue's not going to be solved while TRSV is President, so that likely means that, if you get elected, you'll be the one to deal with it.
Go, go, Akki!!!
Напред Аки!
Blast from the past 😮
Best of luck to you Akki.
Möbius bands are awesome.
How come Alfagrem hasn't commented on this yet?
Very idealistic, but promising. You may have my support.
What's your position on the FoH crew in the future of eJapan?
I didn't realize two people constituted a "Crew", Giantt...
Good luck Akki.
I missed your delicious walls of text
