Summary of the PTO thus far

This article is aimed at all the new eAustralian citizens that have joined and are just going "WTF!!!" cos they don't understand what is going on. They hear terms like PTO, ATO, blockers etc but don't know what they mean. Hopefully this article will help you understand what is going on. Brace for tl;dr.

PTO - Political takeover. A person or group of people that move to a country for the sole purpose of getting elected to congress so that they can ruin the country's economy, steal money, ruin alliances etc.

ATO - Anti-takeover. The guys that try to prevent PTOs from occuring in their country.

Blocker - Someone that runs for congress in a particular region and party so that that place is taken and a PTOer cannot take that spot.

Citizenship - Normally each member of congress is given a certain number of citizenship passes to use in a month. The number is based on the total population of the country in question. Anyone wanting citizenship in a country needs to be approved by a congressman. Citizenship allows people to vote in the elections of the country.

Open citizenship - Open citizenship occurs when a country is completely wiped from the map and a congress election is meant to take place while it is wiped. Open citizenship allows anyone to move to the country and gain the citizenship of the country from when it is returned to the map until a congress election takes place. There is no limit on the number of people that can gain citizenship during this time.

Multis - Illegally created multiple accounts.

Senate - The Senate is simply the name of the eAustralian congress. We use this name to make our political system more like real life (RL). The Senate can be found on the eAustralian forums.

As you can see, it should be hard to PTO a country because a PTOer should not be able to gain citizenship without someone turning traitor and letting them in. That is where people use multis to gain an advantage. They create multiple accounts in a country and use them to get a couple of congress positions. They then use those congressmen to grant citizenship to legitimate accounts who then begin the PTO in earnest.

This is exactly what eIndonesia did to PTO eAustralia. In March of this year, many multis were created in Australia. They then PTOed the National Pirate Party (has since been retaken) and ran for congress in that party. They succeeded in gaining several seats in congress (if you look, most of those congressmen have been banned for use of multiple accounts) and then used those to grant citizenship to many of the current PTO leaders.

April saw the fall of the Procreate and Populate Party (PaPP), with the PTOers using that party to run for congress. They still only gained a few congress seats, but this time with legitimate citizens and so began the slow progress of the PTO.

It took the eIndos until June to gain the majority of the Senate, and until July to gain the position of Country President. Since that time, we have been slowly regaining congress seats and on the 5th of September, we managed to elect Hinokai to the position of Country President. Hinokai is the first eAustralian CP since Widdow9000 was elected in June. A small setback during September was the loss of the Australian National Party, eAustralia's largest party, to the PTO.

We are now very close to being able to regain political control of our country, which is the first step in the long path of regaining total control over our country.
