Battle in Gyeongsangbuk-do

Day 901, 19:15 Published in Austria Austria by Rangeley

In the past few days, more progress has been made in the realm of internal improvements - and abroad, a key battle took place in the Japanese invasion of South Korea, which saw Austrians engaged on the battlefield. This battle, as well as other updates, will be discussed below.

Ministry of Health

The Ministry of Health has had its new official organization created, named Rotes Kreuz, along with its first new article advertising the ministry's services. Due to the change in the hospital system, there is an increased need for using gifts to restore wellness - and as such the Austrian Red Cross will have a larger mission on its hands. If anyone is in need of wellness, or a moving ticket to move to Styria, just contact the Red Cross organization.

Ministry of Culture

The Ministry of Culture has begun its work updating Austria's eRepublik wiki pages with new information, and drafting plans for for more efforts. You can see their progress on Austria's article here - and if you would like to join the effort, and see what areas they are focusing on, please feel free to contact the Minister of Culture, Oraizan. With more people helping out, more ground can be covered quicker, and faster.

Battle of Gyeongsangbuk-do

After Japan's declaration of war on South Korea, the first target of their invasion was the region of Gyeongsangbuk-do. Our quick deployment of key forces enabled us to fight in the small time before the day change - keeping the battle very close for the start of day two. All told, Austrians put up over 68,000 damage in the course of the battle, with our MoFA, Eisenhorn, claiming the battle hero medal. And though Japan succeeded in capturing the territory by a mere 27,000 damage points - out of the 686,597 total - Austrians should be proud of our showing. We fought side by side with our South Korean friends, and showed that they are not alone in their fight for independence.

From this battle, we see both that every bit of damage counts, and that Austria is not an inconsequential player. We made a difference - but as always, we can do more. I encourage anyone who is interested, and able, to sign up and join this effort in our mobile forces. Weapons and moving tickets will be supplied to all fighters, to see that we do all we can to work towards victory in South Korea.

On the Agenda

Communications and coordination with South Korea will continue as our mobile forces remain stationed there. Minister of Foreign Affairs Eisenhorn is keeping in touch with key players and providing updates to the cabinet on this issue. On the economic front, with our weapons stockpile entering very safe territory, a possible shift in focus towards stockpiling gifts and moving tickets for use by other Ministries in the government is being considered. Discussion on this and other economic policy will continue as we seek to find the best way forward.

Additionally, just as the Ministry of Defense has a new, professionally made design for its postings, similar re-designs are being considered for other ministries in order to have a more unified, and organized postings. And finally - a drive to recruit translators for the Ministry of Translation will be a high priority as press releases - such as this one - should most certainly be available in both languages.
