Wer oder was ist Open Minded Germany? Open Minded Germany - oder auch OMG - ist die größte und älteste Partei Deutschlands, die sich die Mehrheit des Kongresses mit den Steinmetzen teilt und keine strenge Parteilinie hat... aber - für mich - ist sie mehr als all das. Sie ist ein zu Hause, etwas Besonderes, ein wertvolles Gefühl, etc. Obwohl OMG so eine erfolgreiche Laufbahn beschritten und kürzlich die Mitgliederzahl von 500 erreicht hat, ist sie nicht da wo sie sein sollte und könnte. Wir haben vielleicht die höchste Anzahl an Mitgliedern, aber auch die höchste Inaktivitätsrate. Andere Parteien haben viele aktive Mitglieder und ein Freundschafts- und Gemeinschaftsgefühl, etc. OMG mangelt es in diesen Bereichen... Dennoch ist das etwas, was ich schon eine Zeit lang ändern wollte, etwas, was ich engagiert versuche zu verbessern und ich glaube wirklich daran, OMG diesen Gemeinschaftgeist geben zu können, welcher die ganze Zeit fehlte.

Der erste und bei weitem einfaste Weg unsere Aktivität und Gemeinschaft zu verbessern ist mehr mit unseren Parteikollegen zu interagieren. Das IRC ist ein perfekter Weg das zu tun. Open Minded Germany hat einen eigenen Channel auf Rizon, auf welchem auch der Deutsche IRC Channel zu finden ist. Der OMG-Channel lautet: #OpenMindGermany und ist ein guter Treffpunkt, um neue Leute und Parteimitglieder zu treffen oder um neue Freunde zu finden. Normalerweise sind dort jeden Tag und jede Nacht einige Leute anwesend. Auch wenn es gut ist, dass es einige Leute gibt, die regelmäßig ins IRC kommen, weiß ich, dass wir das noch besser können. Vor kurzem hatten unsere Freunde die Steinmetze sehr viele Leute in ihrem IRC-Channel; letztens sogar ca. 40 Leute! Das ist wirklich eine starke Leistung und ich erwarte nicht von OMG, dass wir über Nacht 40 Leute im IRC haben. Es wird seine Zeit brauchen, aber ich weiß, dass es möglich ist. Für diejenigen OMGers da draußen, die noch nie im IRC waren, versucht es für ein paar Tage und ich bin sicher, ihr werdet es lieben, denn es fügt eine komplett neue Seite zu eRepublik hinzu. Wer weiß, vielleicht findet ihr ja auch neue Freunde dort, ich weiß, dass ich ich dort welche gefunden habe!

Ein weiterer Weg unsere Interaktion neben der IRC Aktivität zu verbessern ist die Steigerung unserer Forenaktivität. Zugang zum OMG Forenbereich bekommst du so: Registrier dich im eDeutschen Forum (http://board.egerman.de/), geh in den persönlichen Bereich, dann zu Benutzergruppen im Optionenreiter, finde und wähle OMG aus, beantrage die Mitgliedschaft in der Gruppe und warte auf die Annahme. Nachdem deine Anfrage angenommen wurde hast du Zugriff auf den OMG Bereich im Forum. Hier kannst du mit anderen Mitgliedern plauern, dich anmelden, um für den Kongress zu kandidieren, etc. etc. Das Anmelden im Forum ist sehr empfohlen, da dort Konferenzen und andere Dinge abgehalten werden. Ich ermuntere euch noch einmal, wenn du noch nie das Forum benutzt hast, es zu tun. Die Foren werden auch unterhaltsamer, wenn die Anzahl der aktiven Benutzer steigt.

Außerdem könnten wir Veranstaltungen einführen, die ein Gemeinschaftsgefühl schaffen. Spaß-, seriöse, politische und nicht politische Veranstaltungen sind ein guter Weg den Unterhaltungswert und Aktivität zu steigern. Zur Zeit ist das mehr noch eine weit hergeholte Idee, aber es ist definitiv etwas, an dem ich gerne arbeiten und es in unsere Partei einfließen lassen würde. Veranstaltungen würden sehr wahrscheinlich im Forum veröffentlicht, was ein weiterer Grund für die Anmeldung im Forum ist. Es ist wahrscheinlich, dass ich in Zukunft noch weitere Artikel bezüglich der Parteiveranstaltungen veröffentlichen werde, also achte auf diese.

Letzlich möchte ich noch ein Projekt ankündingen, welches ich plane schon bald zu starten. Das Ziel dieses Projektes ist neuen und auch älteren Deutschen in so vielen Bereichen wie möglich zu helfen. Das wird nicht nur die OMG-Gesellschaft sondern die deutsche Gesellschaft als Ganze verbessern, was uns allen zu Gute kommt. Ich werde nicht mehr über dieses Projekt verraten; erwartet einen detailierten Artikel dies betreffend in näherer Zukunft.

Was ist mir das alles so wichtig? Warum ist unsere Parteiaktivität von Bedeutung? Für mich ist es wegen mehrerer Gründe wichtig. Ich will ein Open Minded Germany, das so groß ist, wie es nur sein kann. OMG bedeutet mir sehr viel, von dem Tag an, an dem ich nach eDeutschland kam, waren OMGers da, um mich zu empfangen und mich am Spiel interssiert zu halten. Es ist angebracht zu sagen, dass ich ohne OMG und einigen Mitgliedern dieser Partei heute nicht mehr dieses Spiel spielen würde. Aufgrund dieser großartigen Gemeinschaft, in die ich gekommen bin, war ich in der Lage das Spielen von eRepublik in vollem Umfang zu genießen.
In letzter Zeit fehlte OMGs Gemeinschaft und das ist etwas, was ich wirklich verbessern will. Parteiaktivität bedeutet etwas, weil eines der Dinge ist, welche eine großartige Gemeinschaft und eine großartige Partei schaffen. Wir müssen aktiv sein in unserem Kampf für ein besseres Deutschland. Je mehr Leute von uns versuchen etwas zu verändern, desto größer wird die Veränderung sein ...

What is Open Minded Germany? Open Minded Germany, or OMG, is the largest party in Germany, it currently shares the majority in congress with die Steinmetze, it's non-partisan, it is the oldest party in Germany... But, for me, it's more than all of that. It's a home, it's something special, something of sentimental value, etc. And even though OMG has had such a successful career, and recently broke the 500 member mark, it is not quite where it should and could be. We may have the most members, but we also have the highest percentage of inactive members. Other parties have many active members, and a sense of community and friendship, etc. OMG is lacking in these areas... However, this is something I have wanted to change for awhile, something I am still dedicated to improving, and I truly believe it is possible to give OMG that sense of community it has been missing.

The first, and by far easiest way to improve our activity and community is to interact with fellow members more often. IRC is a perfect way to do this. Open Minded Germany has its own channel on Rizon, along with the main German IRC channel. The channel is: #OpenMindGermany it is a great place to meet new people, party members, and make new friends. Usually there are a couple people in the OMG IRC every day/night. While it is good that we do have some people visiting the IRC on a regular basis, I know we can do much better. Recently, our friends at die Steinmetze have had many people in their channel; somewhere around 40 people just the other day! This is truly an amazing feat, and I don't expect OMG to have 40 people on the IRC over night, it will take awhile, but I know it is possible. So, for those of you OMGers out there that have never been on IRC before, try it for a few days, I am sure you will love it; it adds a whole new aspect to eRepublik. Who knows, you might just make a few friends while you're at it, I know I have!

Another way to improve interaction, besides increasing IRC activity, is to increase forum activity. How to access the OMG sub forum: Register on the eGerman national forums (http://board.egerman.de/), Go to User Control Panel, then over to usergroups under the options tab, finally, find OMG and apply to join and wait to be accepted. After being accepted you have access to the OMG subforum. Here you can chat with other members, sign up to run for congress, etc. etc. Signing up for the forums is highly recommended as it is likely we will have some meetings and other things held there. So, once again, if you have never used the forums, I encourage you to do so. The forums become more entertaining as the number of active posters increases.

Furthermore, events could be established to add to the community feeling. Fun events, serious events, political or nonpolitical, they are a good way to increase entertainment and activity. Currently this is a more far-fetched idea, but it is definitely something I would love to work on and would love to incorporate into our party. Events would most likely be posted in the forums, so that's another reason to sign up for the forums. It is likely that I will post some more articles in the future in regards to party events, so keep on the look out for those.

Finally, I would like to announce a project I plan on starting very soon. The goal of the project is to help Germans, new and old, in as many ways as possible. This will improve not just the OMG society, but also the German society as a whole, which is something that benefits all of us. I won't say any more about this project; expect a detailed article regarding it to be released in the near future.

Why is all of this so important to me? Why does our party activity matter? It is important to me for multiple reasons. I want Open Minded Germany to be the greatest party it can be. OMG means a lot to me, from the day I stepped foot in eGermany OMGers were there to greet me and keep me interested in the game. It is fair to say that without OMG and a few of the members of OMG, I would not be playing this game today. Because of the great community I entered into, I was able to enjoy my eRepublik playing experience to the fullest extent. Recently, OMG's community has been lacking, and this is something that I truly want to improve upon. Party activity matters because it is one of the things that makes a great community, and a great political party. We must be active in our fight for a better Germany. The more people we have trying to make a difference, the bigger that difference will be...
