infin for ANP Party President

Day 839, 18:48 Published in Australia Australia by infin

Hello fellow ANP members,

I am seeking re-election to the position of ANP Party President this month. I have enjoyed the last month as President, listening to your views, and communicating our party's views to the public. We have performed well in the media and in the Senate and finally our Senate team achieved the traction it had been so desperately seeking, on the issue of budget spending and its effect on our economy. To this end the ANP's ideas of reducing import taxes and increasing income taxes until this budgetary situation are rectified, were adopted by the Senate. We will continue to stress the importance of spending cuts over the next term so income tax can be lowered again.

My goal for the next term is to return to our past glory in the Senate by refocussing on electing ANP Senators. The ANP has many fantastic candidates and they will be my focus. The second goal for me is continued work on policy. You will see in the policy section that many draft policies have been rolled out by venja and refined through debate within our party.

I have managed to contact every member at least twice this month - once during the Senate campaign and once to invite members to our forum and IRC. This is in addition to the ANP ad campaign which is funded by your donations. We have benefited from some newly active members but this challenge is never ending. I will continue to reach out to our newer members so they know how they can be involved in the community, both through ads and PMs.

Some will object to the ANP playing partisan politics - well I say that our members are entitled to expect two things from their party:
1. An active voice in the Senate, holding the government of the day accountable; and
2. Telling the public about our policies and what we stand for.

I am quick to agree with my opponents when their ideas are in the best interests of the country however the ANP has been subjected to relentless attack from the Government and in the Senate for the genuine interest we have taken in examining every Proposal. I expect nothing less from ANP Senators than to carefully consider the impacts of the decisions our Senate is taking and I hope the ANP and its Senators will continue to take their obligation to the eAustralian people very seriously. I want to clarify that I am not here to wage war against any specific party. My overriding priority is to the eAustralian people, but when a political agenda acts to the nation's detriment I will debate it and propose the ANP alternative - that is the democratic process.

Most importantly, I can offer the party reliability and stability. For the last four terms I have worked in our senate campaigns. I started becoming involved in campaigning out of a burning desire to help ANP candidates get elected. I will not be leaving the country and I don't need to make wild promises to prove it - because I have always been here supporting my friends and colleagues.

I welcome any other members wanting to become involved in the campaign organisation as it is a laborious and time consuming job. Many hands certainly do make light work in this respect.

The ANP must continue to be the voice of reason. I am the candidate that can articulate our message, and as Senator take up the hard hits against the government raising the issues others are too scared to raise.

I will never stop working for our country and for the ANP, because without the ANP I would not be where I am today. Thank you for your support.

regards
