1234 - an eRepublik day when eRomania ceased to exist

Day 1,234, 16:26 Published in Hungary Hungary by Nalaja

Day 1234. First time in the eRepublik history, eRomania misses from the map (Update: after 36 hours, Romania is on the map again). Although this situation is probably lasts for a few days, it is an important milestone in the history of eRomania, eHungary and also of the respective alliances, the EDEN and the ONE.

Perhaps it is too early to analyze the roots and causes, however I make a try. From the viewpoint of the eRepublik rules in September, the following rule changes were important for reaching this achievement of Day 1234:

1. The changed MPP rule (early October, 2010). Earlier, an MPP should have been 'activated', by an attack on a core region of a country. This was a clear obstacle to attack again a powerful country with extended MPP set. Earlier, in November, this rule led to the erase of eHungary, however we can't forget that this enabled to erase eRomania, too.

2. The limitation of gold income via monetary and donation to 10 golds per day (February 2011). The change was favoured the countries with large, food-based armies against the armies based on a limited set of tanks. As the countries of ONE have this kind of large armed forces, and the majority of the Romanian war influence came from just a few, although very strong and supplied, tanks, it was a green lamp to erase eRomania, as well as eCroatia a few days ago.

3. (thanks, nexus2012!) The manager work and the raise of the productivity in higher quality companies. It resulted a tremendous overproduction of q5 food and tanks, which is essential for the large population influence and food-based armies.

4. Raising the daily food consumption from 300 to 500 wellness point for a limited period was in perfect timing for eHungary. It helped to regain the initiative in a critical point of the Romanian campaign and lasted till the second Muntenia battle, which was a very important one during the series of clashes.

5. The new point-counting system was made the battles easier to win in case of a real military advantage. This was not a decisive factor but our side was again favoured by that.

6. The new trade route rule brought not so much change to battlefields, however it really pushes the countries to occupy the neighbors instead of to have distant, and now mostly useless, colonies.

Feeling the consequences of the above Point 2, the leaders of eRomania called the Hungarian government a month ago, in March, to close the direct war and replace it by a 'Real War' instead of the trench warfare, a race to collect regions. I personally am proud to have been a strong opponent of this plan in the Hungarian government. And really, after rejecting the race plan, a real war starte😛 the first big assault of the whole ONE on Crisana was repelled by the tremendous Romanian tanking. The successful defense, however, consumed the strategic reserves of eRomania and a few days later, the second assault on Crisana opened the way for the offensive without not real resistance from the opposite side. Transilvania, the big prize of many Hungarian souls, was captured surprisingly easily. This was followed by the attack and capture of the Romanian capital and population hub, Muntenia. It was the first time the region was captured by any hostile power.

Hungary was deceived by the weak opposition of the last rounds of this battle and the following attack on Bucovina was failed, eRomania later gained back Muntenia and her counter-attack was stopped in Transylvania. From this point, there was no stop for the ONE-supported Hungarian advance: collecting Maramures and Banat shifted the front line to the Carpathian ridge. The two following battles, the ones for Muntenia (again) and Dobrogea were the last ones with real Romanian defense activity. The effectiveness of the defense was somewhat decreased by the simultaneous Serbian-ONE attack on the last Croatian region and the temporary rule change, mentioned above in Point 3. Meanwhile the presence of Romania in Moldavia was reduced to one region, which was still enough to start a desperate plan to lengthen the agony; an NE to Moldavia and the capture of one more region was still possible mathematically. Unfortunately for the Romanian HQ, a simple 8-0 Hungarian victory in Bucovina closed early the Moldavian border, and the capture of the last region, Oltenia, was a mere formality. Even the Romanian MoD order sent the troops and influences to a battle in the Iranian-Bulgarian front.

At the moment of victory, there are two things I have to tell. First, this whole campaign, and the whole victory would not have been possible without the tremendous help and military cooperation of the ONE alliance. Besides the many Polish, Serbian, Spanish troops, we have considerable support from Macedonia, Indonesia, Slovenia and Turkey, too. I shall say a big thanks to all of them!

The second of my last messages is to the Romanian citizens. As I earlier told in a comment in the Romanian media: every crisis is a cradle of the rebirth. Obviously, there are a lot of things to be changed in politics, but the New World won't and can't be without your community. This is also something to be told in the very moment of the biggest victory of our beloved eHungary.

Update: with a perfectly timed and coordinated RW, Romania is existing again after 36 hours, from around 4 hours eRep time, Day 1236. Congratulation for the quick return!
