Well in real life, NOTHING but death & destruction.
In eRepublik, a few sore fingers & bruised ego's is the extent of the damage. That's where the comparison ends.

Current Scenario:
India Has declared War on Pakistan
Ashwamedh, our President aptly clarifies his stand on the war: Promise Fulfilled.
To elaborate a bit, we've been wanting a war for quite sometime now. We were unable to take part in the Training Wars for sometime due to logistics issues & hopefully they'll be sorted in the near future. However, our Citizens have been wanting a war, any war, as they were losing out on experience points & damage, and our economy wasn't doing to well either.
So one of our only viable options is Pakistan.
India-Pakistan
In real life we share a long history of conflict, with 1 major & 3 minor wars & countless skirmishes, that have claimed millions of lives & caused much grief & turmoil in the Indian Subcontinent. In many ways we're the same people, sharing any cultural values, but torn apart due to petty politics from both sides.
As Ashwamedh states, let's NOT draw whatever real life negative emotions any of us might harbor into this. War in real life & war in eRepublik are.. well as I said above, no compare. So keep a lid on anti-Pakistan derogatory.

Now this is something we CAN & ARE going on. They are the ones who wiped us out months back, and led to the scenario where most of our regions have been under foreign occupation for ages. Recently they've region-swapped with Serbia, letting Serbia right up to our borders, fully aware of their hostile intentions. In short, they've been anything but good neighbors.
So while the war does pose risks in many ways, we're Indians - heck we're mad as hell! So we say, bring it on!!!

This is our first aggressive war, meaning for the first time, we're targeting territories that are not originally ours. Before the alarms are raised, let me state few points.
> We've been under threat of Political Take-Over (PTO) by Iranians for some FOUR MONTHS now!
> One of the ONLY ways to counter it is to get a baby boom; something we've been working on for sometime now, but with little success. The war will not only get us more publicity in real life media, but also help ensure those who join stick around. Hopefully it'll attract more RL Indians who've migrated to move back as well.
> We get a baby boom, means we shall have the potential to counter any insurgents & foreign occupiers. Also means we can finally have ALL our regions, currently on loan to our good allies, China & USA, returned to us.
Now let me remind you, we already have High Iron (Karnataka), High Wood(Jharkhand), & High Grain (Northern India) regions.
> Hence, we do not need & have no intention of holding on to Pakistan or anybody's regions for that matter. Really. So whatever the outcome of the wars, we don't really care as long as we get to do some damage to the walls, get a boom, and have fun.
How to go about the War Effort:
Indian Armed Forces & the Azad Hind Fauj are our premiere fight clubs, with lots of goodies in store if you enroll! Sign up if you already haven't (give it a day or two if you don't get an immediate response or send Abhi347 a personal message).
Follow your orders & always keep in contact with your battalion leaders.
If you're in AHF, check your battle orders everyday. If you haven't checked this out yet, now is the time to do it: AHF website. Its just too damn cool! So sign up and have fun!

We hear many nations of the world are bored out of their skins, for lack of good juicy wars to fight in! Even nations partaking in the Training wars are bored. So here's your chance. Move to Maharashtra (Q5 hospital region), & tank till you drop!
Coordinate with shail.back, our Military Commander for the war, or check in on our IRC (#india on Rizon) for specific battle instructions.
We invite all our friends and allies, the Irish, Americans, Malaysians, heck even our old friends on the Phoenix side of the fence, anyone with soldiers to spare and a reason to fight (do we need reasons???), we invite you to fight for us & raise hell!
If you have friends abroad, feel free to invite them, and give link to this article if they wanna know more. This war DOES NOT have any political agenda, even though we're sure EDEN-PHOENIX would love to make one of it, and most likely will do so. Whatever the outcome, this is not for anyone but us & not against anyone but Pakistan!

Actually real life wars are not all that useless, but hm.. eRepublik wars are not useless at all, they are pretty much harmless and are required for a healthy economy and population. 😛
The RL war theories of course differ from person to person. 🙂
I'd say its best to keep it out of the game, though not always possible. Simply cuz. RL is not a game we can forget about, we can keep eRepublik out of RL, but we can't keep RL out of eRepublik. 😛
BUT - This battle has more to do with the recent backstabbing by ePak[fyi ePakis were pretty friendly before the sudden betrayal], and almost nothing to do with RL issues we have. 🙂
