Mr Rosewater for NSW Congress

Day 761, 15:06 Published in Australia Australia by Mr Rosewater

This is the first time I have run for senate. Some of you know me, many don't. Over the better part of the past year I've traveled a lot in my time in eRepublik. I've lived in about a dozen countries, some rich and on top of the world, others poor and fighting off invaders. I've also fought a lot, for the underdog as much as possible, and sometimes for the oppressor out of my own ignorance. I've settled back home here in Australia for the last few months though, and I would like to impose upon you for a few minutes to lay out my nomination proposal for a position as a Peoples Democracy senator in NSW.

My platform is simple and brief. It is skewed more towards preserving the tradition of egalitarianism and democratic process in eAus rather than economic or military policy. We have a number of wonderful generals and economists here in Australia, so I have no intention of competing on those fronts. My policies are below. I'll keep them short:

* Promoting a greater respect for all citizens of eAus and those of other nations, and opposing blind patriotic jingoism wherever I see it
* A push to support oppressed peoples and states wherever we have the capability of assisting as a nation
* Carry on the good work of several individuals by keeping citizens up to date with the goings on in the senate
* An emphasis on using diplomatic and trade channels to solve regional conflicts, rather than military options
* Closer ties and links with our direct neighbors
* Promotion of an overall high standard of conduct in eAus, and zero tolerance for any attempts to subvert freedom of speech, our democratic process, or any personal attacks

I'd be more than happy to elaborate on any points. Good luck on the Christmas Day elections everyone!
