Brenflakes for Victoria

Day 732, 05:09 Published in Australia Australia by Brenflakes

Greetings eAustralia!

Once again I'll be asking for your vote, this time in the great state of Victoria!

After my first term in the senate, I've learned a lot. From working with other senators on ideas and proposals, to voting and discussing various bills and such. But the one thing i learned that stands out the most, is that there is still a lot of work to be done.

I also took up some extra-curricular positions, Deputy Minister of Industry and Deputy Speaker. Seeing the senate from many different perspectives has been a real eye opener. I've stayed away from the petty bickering and lulz proposals that has plagued us this senate term, and when i have made comment on the serious issues, its been constructive and insightful (well i think so anyway 😛).

Here is a few of the thing's I've achieved this month, and my reasoning for it.

NAP with eIndonesia

This one has been the hot topic of the month, and I voted yes for it. While many people disagree with the NAP, i agree with what its trying to achieve. I was a bit wary of having to buy out the eIndo companies in WA, but i believe it's something we will eventually do anyway. Buying the companies back was an original term of the AIRRA, and i believe by honoring this part of the original contract makes us the bigger country, and shows we are honorable in what we do on the world stage. Signing a NAP with them ensures that we retain WA while we build our military and push forward to become the strongest country we can be. I support Cerri's decision here, as right now it's what we need to ensure our border security and our future.

Hospital for SA

I'm proud to say that i supported the placement of SA's hospital as a responsible measure to continue our economic growth. Here's what i contributed to the discussion :

"With the cost of MPP's being 100g now, i think to sell this for that reason would be foolish (some senators were suggesting we sell to fund next month's MPP's). Even if we got market rate of 300g for the hospital, we'd need more gold for more MPP's next month. Are we just going to keep selling them because we need the gold? Placing this in SA is going to have a longer lasting effect, and is a wiser investment in our future IMO.

More hospitals means less people not playing because they aren't in a hospital state, Higher wellness, therefore higher production for companies based in SA. If we place the hospital in SA, this will lead to more people playing the game, more revenues for the government, THIS is the responsible way to fund the MPP's."

Congratulations SA, may your population grow and fight alongside the rest of our great country!

EDEN/Brolliance

After the co-ordinated effort of last month's CP Patti11, this was a turning point in our country's history. We got WA returned to us after the disgraceful 18 month occupation by our "friends" eIndonesia. IMO, Friends shouldn't treat each other this way. EDEN came to our aid and spearheaded the return of WA to make our country whole again. Them working hard to do this convinced me that this is the path our country should be taking, making us stronger, and providing us as a nation with extra protection and regional stability. It also provides us with regular battles, which in turn stimulates our economy, increases our productivity, and puts us onto the world stage. I strongly supported the move to accept the MPP's presented to us after the liberation of WA, to accept the kindness, support and protection offered by our new friends.

Senate/Cabinet Meetings

I attended both the senate and cabinet meetings this month, to keep myself informed of what was happening, to discuss different issues and to ask the questions i felt pertinent to help me make my decision for what i thought was in our best interests. These meetings were a great insight into the direction Cerri and Patti had for us all over the last month. It was also good to mingle with other senators and cabinet members and hear their thoughts and concerns on the issues.

NAB Theft / Cabinet Contracts

I was absolutely gob smacked and to be quite honest angry as hell when i heard we were robbed yet again. The person/s responsible for the theft should be ashamed of themselves, and if there was an option to deport these people, I'd be the first person to slam the door in their face on the way out. I've been working on a contract to try and hold people in power responsible for their actions in regards to government funds, and while its been slow going, some progress is starting to be made. I'd like to thank binda33 for her input and encouragement during this process, as at a few stages i was starting to wonder if it was worth the effort. I'm hoping that either by the end of this term, or early in the next term to send this proposal to a vote.

Sorry about the wall of text, I'm almost done!

So in closing, I think I've acted responsibly and honestly this term, I've been very active, and I'd like a chance to continue to work with the senate and cabinet over the next month, to continue the great work the majority of our senate has achieved. I'm also considering running for Speaker in the next term if elected, as I think I'd make a great impartial moderator to keep discussion on track and keep the senate working for the people of Australia.

Once again i ask for your faith and trust, as i humbly ask for the privilege of serving our great nation once again.

Thank you for your time, and I hope to continue to serve on the senate in the coming month.
