As a member of CEP I resent the idea that we are somehow behind Cobra. I understand why some might believe CEP might have something to do with it, but it is just not true, nor is it the way CEP operates. CEP has come out against Cobra and has threatened that any member of CEP found to be a COBRA member would be ejected.
COBRAS obviously got people everywhere, not just the CEP. I'd just like to say that while we're all down here bickering and confused, AB is sitting down somewhere cackling maniacally as we go along with his plans.

I feel that CuAlludah is correct, but missed out the reasoning behind the decision to be proactive with the COBRA threat. We had started opposing them in day 2 since thats when I percived that COBRA was an actual threat, and not just a joke. I had then decided that the CEP should take a stance against this, else our political opponents might use this a propoganda fodder, since some of our politcal opponents already been calling the CEP a "band of theives" (and blame us for all the government theifts). I thought i'd nip this in the bud with the congressional ellections so close. However it appears as if this has just fueled the anti-CEP machine even more, and I have had a full time job trying to preserve the CEPs Image against these baseless attacks.

My thought exactly from the article all the way through the comments. If COBRA had such powerful information and so many operatives it would be easier to take over the government and rob the treasury. If they had reliable, steady access to real sensitive information, then they would demand more.
There are a lot more 'ifs' as well. I don't think it is true that COBRA has any steady source of information.
However, if they did, our easiest way to rectify that would be for all of eCanada's diplomatic ties to be well-known and for the government to be transparent. Hence information equals nothing. As it likely does anyway.

I think it would be a mistake to underestimate their will to sell those secrets.
