[WRP] - A view from Parliament - Issue 44

Day 2,471, 10:54 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Huey George

Introduction

This 'A view from Parliament', my final of the term, will once again follow a slightly different format than my regular readers are used to; as well as my own Congressional voting record it includes the voting record of my fellow WRP members of Congress to provide you our constituents an opportunity to review how we've spent my time representing you in Congress.

Law Proposals

MPP
President of United Kingdom proposed a mutual protection pact with Germany

Natural enemy
Sweden

I voted No. A natural enemy can only be set every 7 days and with so many enemies incoming I thought it was wise to wait for further consideration prior to chosing Sweden over the others.

Other WRP members of Congress votes;

Aleksandar.V Popovic - To be added later
Alan Warwickshire - To be added later
Arhivator Cvarkov - Yes
Harijs.me - n/a (Resigned from Congress Day 2464)
Lazarus Eternal - To be added later
MarkTD - To be added later
Mitzuno - Abstain
Paulus G - Yes
SirMorton - Yes

The vote ended
12 YES votes to 8 NO votes As a reminder for this law to be considered accepted it needs 66% of the Congress votes.

Country Donation
Do you agree to transfer 150000 GBP from the country accounts to Bank of England?

I voted Yes. To ensure the Country President and his Ministry of Defence have funds available for Command Orders if required to repeal the incoming attacks from Norway, Sweden, Canada, Israel, Finland and France.

Other WRP members of Congress votes;

Aleksandar.V Popovic - To be added later
Alan Warwickshire - Yes

SirMorton - Yes

The vote ended
24 YES votes to 1 NO votes

Issue Money
Do you agree with the proposal to issue 100000 GBP for 500 GOLD?

I voted Yes. As the exchange is 1 Gold equals 200cc so a profit of 11cc per gold at the moment and it would provide us as a country more usable money in the Country Accounts for Congress to decide to approve a future donation if required.

Alan Warwickshire - Yes

Closing thoughts

I'd first like to offer congratulations to Arhivator, Paulus, Mitzuno, Alan, James and Alex on retaining/obtaining a seat in Congress. I'm very pleased for them all and I'm sure they all will do a tremendously well for the citizenry of the UK as WRP representatives in Congress. I'd also like to offer congratulations to all other members of Congress who have just won/retained a seat in Congress

However I am bitterly disappointed that 17 fraudulent votes were cast in favour of the Workers' Rights Party. This behavior is unacceptable and I'm happy to speak out against it and thank the Admins for their vigilance. Congressional success should be hard fought and won not via dishonest means.

EDIT - This 'Latest Update' from the Admins may explain why the WRP vote was so badly affected by what looked like fraudulent votes;
