[WRP] - A view from Parliament - Issue 22

Day 1,979, 11:11 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Huey George

Introduction

This "A view from Parliament" will be a brief one, containing my voting and reasons behind my votes cast on seven completed law proposals to update you my constituents. My closing thoughts will be on a request by one of my constituents regarding transcripts.

Law proposals

Completed law proposal are;

Natural Enemy

Argentina has been proposed as Natural Enemy.

I voted NO. It'd have reopened an "war" with Argentina which the UK once again may lose, therefore it was decided by the majority of Congress it'd have been better to let our allies Poland and then liberate our regions off friendly Poland.

The vote ended;
11 YES votes to 17 NO votes in the UK

MPP

President of United Kingdom proposed a mutual protection pact with Poland

I voted YES. Fellow TWO member, long standing and vital ally. Poland can not be spoken highly enough about.

The vote ended;
34 YES votes to 0 NO votes in the UK
34 YES votes to 1 NO votes in Poland

MPP

President of United Kingdom proposed a mutual protection pact with Spain

I voted YES. Like Poland a fellow TWO member, long standing and vital ally. At the UK's side at times of need.

The vote ended;
33 YES votes to 0 NO votes in the UK
25 YES votes to 2 NO votes in Spain

MPP

President of Venezuela proposed a mutual protection pact with United Kingdom

I voted YES. Another fellow TWO member. Strong in a fight and good to have an ally. A country who is only likely to gain more citizens and stronger citizens.

The vote ended;
31 YES votes to 2 NO votes in the UK
31 YES votes to 0 NO votes in Venezuela

MPP

President of United Kingdom proposed a mutual protection pact with Hungary

I voted YES. Yet another fellow TWO member (what an alliance\o/), Like Poland and Spain, Hungary are a long standing and vital ally with an active strong and loyal citizenship.

The vote ended;
35 YES votes to 0 NO votes in the UK
34 YES votes to 0 NO votes in Hungary

VAT & Import Taxes: Weapons
Value added tax (VAT) 1% (NEW) from 5% (OLD)
Import Tax 8% (NEW) from 10% (OLD)

I voted YES. I have no doubt these changes will benefit my constituents. Less to the Government and more to the hard worker.

The vote ended;
30 YES votes to 5 NO votes

Natural Enemy

Ireland has been proposed as Natural Enemy.

I voted YES. Peace and NAP have been proposed by the Irish however I don't believe they hold much weight. The UK must be strong and dedicated in settling the war on our terms less the Irish find a way to once again place a dagger in our back. In short, Irish actions not words must show they "want" peace.

Closing thoughts

As mentioned in introduction, this week I took up the challenge of transcripts of any Congress discussion regarding the NE's and the Government from one of my constituents. Unfortunately these ranged across numerous personal messages and there isn't any formal way of recording or releasing this information at the minute. This may be something the Government or future needs to look into. As an inadequate substituted I'll provide a brief summary of what I can remember regarding the debates.

I believe it was a fairly strong majority to use our NE to better resist Argentina to the extent a proposal to NE Ireland was reject. I was in favour of this. However then it then become clear it might be better to concentrate against the Irish. I was in favour of this as like many members of Congress at the time as this would delay the wipe of the UK. Although it was decided our NE was still best to be set against Argentina as we didn't "need" it to be successful against the Irish. Once again I was in favour of this. Ultimately our strategy didn't prevent the UK losing all it's regions although since those days our allies Poland and a strong resistance fighting by our citizenship have freed most of our country with the rest being once again under British control soon I'm sure.

As I've said it's a fairly inadequate substitute to the actual transcripts however I hope it goes someway to answering any questions.
